If it was a lose connection....all of the shifter gearing would be lose (right)?.... SEAFOAM for trans...will have to look for that...

mech head- someone who is seriously in to machanics.......but I cant go back to them and ask what he has done to the truck cuz he died due to cancer back in march....fluid was clean and red, like it should be not burnt or off smelling

She has about 181k, fluid is good and clean, unknown weither it was flushed or maintained its only a month old to me. And the previous owner was a mech head. I do have the other truck in my back yard, and the tranny is good in it.... just dont have the money to swap em out ot the tools to try it...

I would take that tool with you to the shop and have them watch you do the load test....If they still dont beleave anything is wrong with it take it to another shop and have it repaired and send them the bill....I know that this is the long and expensive way to do it but thats not kool...

Out of no where the reverse gear stops working no warning to me at all....There has not been any slipage at all in reverse....there is a little slipage in between 1st and 2nd gear, also sometimes haard shifting at highway speeds if I need to accerate quickly....otherwise truck runs seamless... First time this has happened to me in any vehicle. HELP PLEASE....lol

Lets see I picked up a valve cover gaskets and will be installing them this weekend hopefully......I'll try to make a sticky for the install with pix...

Yea I got a really good deal... I had alot to do with his wife. He wanted to sell it for more. But she talked to him while i was over looking it(really getting in to detail on everything. She saw the connection I had with it. It was ment to be. I still plan on striping out the red R50....just have to talk to a buddy that has a lift and see if I can get him to help me out and he can keep the body for labor plus a little cash along the way after selling some parts... So those of you that need parts leave me a detailed list and Ill see what I can do for you...

While driving home from the bodyshop I saw the tail end of a R50 and a sign in the window.... something told me to turn around and go look...I found a Black 96 LE with leather, 4x4 181,xxx miles... I immeadiatly crwaled under her and started to inspect her from front to rear.... the guy selling it came out and said can I help you...my reply I'll meet you at the back. He was a little perplexed until he saw mine sitting on the trailer. So i took it for a little drive and noticed a few minor things to work on.. but all in all shes in great condition body wise.. so I talked the guy down to $2500....will pick it up tomorrow after the finall bill of sale...

i only had liability only.... my pathy is a 1997 SE 4x4.....it will be a week or 2 before i can get her ready to part out....I will be completely striping her down if i thing it can be used its comming off...doors lights hood.... If i can find another pathy or a fronteir that has engine or trans problems ill throw them in that... Back to origional question.....transmission from pathy to fronty????

Well the body shop told me that it would be $5k in body work and about 7 in rebuilding the truck from the suspension damage... So what to do? What to do...Im going to strip her down...will be having parts avalible prolly in next 2 weeks...But the good thing is the engine and transmission is still operational... Im either going to find another R50 or Im going for a Frontier... I kno the engine is the same, but what about the transmission and differential?? Thoughts, comments, cheers/jeers, opinions please thanx for your time.

Yea its a bummer.....But with such an impact to throw me across 2 lanes uphill and on the curb....she had to be speeding...which is my opinion...and my insurance agent agrees too... so we will see how the fight goes...

The yellow X is sight of impact The green line shows the direction after impact... The blue box shows how my truck was sitting on the side walk and curb after i had stop moving.... This image is from a satalite view that is through the county tax office. and is public information This next phot is of a larger area....So if traffic was stopped up from one light to the next one...comon sense says that she had to go around a double line to get to the turn lane...because when i got to that turn lane there was no one there one light to another....

IDK yet....the impact was to the steel under bumper in the rear on the drivers side....which spun me and made my passenger side hit the curb and land on top of it.... i damn near rolled over... if it wasnt for the little tree i would of... i knew about the exhaust leak...had to take it to a shop out of county to get it inspected...lol as for the front end IDK the damage exactly... im not too keen about front end work... but still have to wait and see what insurance says....there trying to blame me for it because i was the one who took the left turn out of a parking lot.... will post more pix explaining

I have no idea what is going ot happen... I only have liability coverage... and if the find me to be at fault im screwed... Insruance companys are going to be hacking it out... If I do get a settlement either total truck out or fixed... im going to turn around and use the money to buy a actual mid size truck... need it more than a SUV at this point... I do lawncare/landscape/tree cutting on the side... but with nothing to tow my trailer Im pretty muched screwed....

yea.....im ok for the most part....I rebuilt half the damn rear end and upper half of the engine...my blood and sweat is all over this truck....i doubt ill have enough for another pathy...idk yet..i hate being in limbo...if i dont get another R50....i mught just get an actual truck

About 6pm Tuesday I was in a accident....not so much body damage....but my entire suspension is FUBAR... Was hit hard enough to spin 90 degrees and across 2 lanes of traffic in to the curb on the other side of the street...this hitting both front and rear wheels on the curb and bouncing almost rolled over... The rear axle is 2-4 inches off center to the driver side and front suspension is FUBAR...IDK the damage to the front but i do kno the alingment is out of wack and power steering is FUBAR also... Visible rear damage to underbody....pan rod bent about 3 inches, the upper links brackests are bent both on body and axle...lower links look ok...both wheels on passenger side need replacing from contact with curb... I have no idea what is wrong with the front end...i kno the power steering is messed up along with alignment and possibly the struts and mounts... Im afraid that the insurance adjuster is going to total out my baby.....im half near broke right now and with out a vehicle to tow with...my side business is going to fail...

i have done tried all of that....and i still wont open.... will have to see about getting another hatch... damnit... will have to look at it on monday....

For some unknow reason my rear hatch is jammed shut.....it will not open.... The latch unit releases but something in the mechinism is still not working. I took off the rear panal of the door and got to the mechinism and it looks like everything is working properly, but still no unlocking. I really dont know what to do. Only thing i can think of is cutting it out and i dont want to do that with out knoing what is going to happen if I do...any help is very welcome.

I use 10W30 castro full synthetic all year round....change ever 5000 or 10 weeks what ever is first....then i seafoam the truck twice a year... i have almost 245K miles....still running stronger than ever.....god i love a nissan

I had plans on making front and rear bumpers all along. Now it looks like im going to have to step up the time frame...lol My insurance company cant do anything because he was not insured. So I have to find a way to run his VIN to see if he has insurance these next few weeks. Going to make a claim in small clams court after getting estimates and such. The VIN is not even registered in yet still registered to a independant car dealer. A lot of things do not add up for the information from the kid or the owner info. The phone numbers do not work that I was given so IDK what will happen.

What is it about this time of year where all the nissans are getting damaged...lol Well my turkey day started out fun. I had to work 5 hour shift at my job. But thats not the problem. On the way home I almost got T-boned. A 19 year old mexican kid ran a stop sign and hit me and then drove off... I was hit in the rear driverside door and he ripped the rear plastic bumper off my R50. Thats not even the funny part, the kid was driving a 1991 WD21. So I turn around and give chase 3 miles later at speeds pushing triple digits he finally pulls over. I then procede to rip his keys out of his ignition and wait for the cops. Among the list of charges: no license, no insurance, license plate was from a acura while on a wd21, title not registered with DMV (just bought day before by kids father), leaving scene of the accident, and reckless driving. The kid walks...Now the delima I doubt insurance will do anything and prolly drop me if I do a claim. Happy FREAKING Turkey day...lol
