running it low on oil all the time they may have caused piston ring/valve damage.... do a compression test..... and check the timing
-
oh, i didn't measure king.. i was guessing lmao! and seems it's a pretty close guess... king can't be more than 1" taller than your rig....
-
have you checked your battery? does the light come on at start up and go off when you start to drive? have you checked your battery cables for damage and corrosion? have you checked the connections to the alty? maybe something wiggled loose..... are the lights going dim NOW? or just "before"?
-
not dumb......most folks don't know where it is...... that's the o2 sensor. it is under the driver floor and is screwed into the exhaust. you can follow the wire all the way up and over the transmission to a set of "plugs" on the passenger side fenderwell.

it's posted in the "how to" section of the garage........ http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=21

is it low on oil?
-
i use him all the time for my gasket sets..... and the gaskets are ITM as well.
-
i think the ones i usually get from kragen are duralast, never had any issues and they run around $50
-
king (without a roof rack) is about 6'1" /6'2" (4"+ 3" on 33's)

#1 for me is interior room....... pathy's have WAY more interior room than x's. pathy's look better. they are tougher. they're cheaper. pathy's can last well over 450k miles........ just ask a few of the 500k plus mile members here........ i could go on for DAYS about what i DON'T like about the X-T and what I LOVE about pathy's...........
-
as simon, i filled mine through the shifter to get enough trans fluid in there.
-
it looks as tho the pins could be knocked out, but wonder if bushing damage would occur........

Starting my Auto-Manual Transmission swap
Slick replied to pktzygt's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
who said dat. lol. i have never done the swap, cuz i am lazy and just have a truck with each type of trans in it lmao, but yeah, if i can help in any way i will. the ECU for auto is not compatible with the 5 spd trans, so the ecu will have to be swapped as well..... i am sick and i think you wrote that you will be swapping ecu's..... i will go back to bed now...... -
being as you mention colorado. frame rust. check any 88-95 pathy for frame rust above and behind the rear tires...... if not sure, smack it with a hammer. the only weak point on an otherwise indestructible truck is the IFS....... t bars not over cranked will elongate the life, but IFS limits flexibility, not enough to make a huge difference unless you're rock crawling, but you asked for issues/limits, and that's one of them. other than the IFS and frame rot on salted road pathys, these are VERY tough little trucks, have a low CoG and can handle corners, towing and daily life with grace. the auto trans is the pathy's only other possible let down........ if no after market trans cooler is used, the trannies have a tendency to have a premature melt down... thus, losing reverse first... and going from there. the 5 speeds are pretty much indestructible. 87-89 are 2 door only, TBi VG30i motors and 90-95 are 4 door only, MPFi VG30e motors exact same blocks, just diff injection/air systems

yup, there's been a couple V-8 swaps, and no, king is not SAS........ YET. steve is working out the final bugs on the 3 link, then later this year or next spring king will get the same check the garage for V-8 swaps. it there are a lot of topics about it, recently covered too
-
lol, yeah, you could say that..........
-
ouch, their sore point lol. WELL maintained, 19mpg......... not so well maintained or rode hard, 10-14mpg if i drive 55-60mph with mini (5 spd) i can squeeze 19mpg out of her....... king 17-18 @ 65 if i drive mini "hard" (i have never driven her really hard) or 65-75 mph...... 12-14mpg these things are NOT known for good gas mileage
-
thanks. king is mainly my wheeler/back up truck (temporarily incapacitated due to a pinched something). all his details are in my sig........ he has a big fat trans cooler.... and he's had a couple mods since then, he "lost" the stupid steps, has clear turn signals (looks pimp lmao) and some (haha) work under the hood i HAD 2 autos n 2 5spds but i got rid of my 88 & 90 pathy's, now i am down to the original 2 again (king auto, mini 5 spd) lol. had to downsize the family

the auto hubs have a tendency NOT to unlock (or just 1 won't) sometimes... that's what happened to mini me (my 92).. i threw some milemarker's on her and she's been fine. most everyone who wheels will go with manual hubs... warn, MM....... no, superwinch don't make em for our trucks yet (28 spline) i should know.. summit racing said they did, i got em.. for 31 spline.... if the truck oyu are thinking about is auto, make sure it shifts good. check the fluid to see if it's burnt looking or well maintained. if it IS auto, a trans cooler (bypass stock one) IS your FIRST purchase for your new best friend out of the box, as martin said, they are tough lil trucks. the "unknown"..... they wheel most excellent bone stock with good A/T or off road type tires.... (i've even wheeled mini on half bald crappy street tires) depending on location, check the frame for RUST. this is the pre 96's nemesis. the frames have a tendency to rust out behind the rear passenger doors all the way back (in salted states) take a hammer and smack it if you're not sure. other than that, you may come across broken manifold studs which will cause a noteable tick on startup.. won't hurt the truck, but will annoy you until you give in and change them there ARE after amrket parts for pathy's, you just have to know where to look..... and NPORA is a VERY good start Steve over at rugged rocks off road (www.ruggedrocksoffroad.com) just installed a yota 3 link set up on the front of his pathy, and it is WICKED. it's WAY less trouble (1 bracket to fab, the rest almost direct bolt on) for install, and works as good as an SAS if you are turning yours into a wheeler, lose the IFS, besides the auto tragic, the IFS will limit your flex
-
cuz i have done it......... and it's in a PRIME spot to get nailed
-
sexy....... but you gunna break that spot light on the back.......... FAST
-
coming along nicely!!!!!!! grats!!
-
i'd sat fuel delivery. take the fuel lines off at the valve cover, turn the ignition on (have a cup to catch the gas) .. if the gas continues to pump with just the iggy on yer ok
-
i had a very similar problem, and i had a bad injector..... may not be related, but both started and ended at the same time.
