That only purpose that H-bracket serves is to support the splash guard. It offers NO protection at all. When I took mine off to install the skidplate, it was twisted 90° in the center (wide thin) part, and BOTH arms were bent about 60°.

PERFECT! *Please hold for NIORA recruitment agent* Heh...I've gotta have a little fun somehow on this website problem riddled Friday evening, eh. sssh Anyways, you might be interested to hear about the club that I co-founded and am Vice-President of, the Northeast Import Off Road Association (NIORA). What is NIORA you may ask? Well, to put it simply, we are a group of everyday 4-wheeling junkies, who happen to drive Imports (Hey, that's you!) from all over the Northeast. We've got members in PA, NY, NJ, CT, RI, and more! What do we do? Well, we go 4-wheeling, duh! But seriously though, we hold 4 major off-road events each year at Rausch Creek or Paragon. One for each season throughout the year. We also do community building events such as Show-N-Shines, Mod Days, BBQs and all around get togethers, however, our the vast majority of our time is devoted to planning and holding the 4 major runs. Speaking of Seasonal Runs... Autumn is just around the corner, and so is the First Annual, NIORA Autumn Run - 2005. This run will be held at Rausch Creek Offroad Park in Joliet, PA the weekend of October 7-9. The event schedule is still in the works, and will be posted on the NIORA website (http://www.niora4x4club.com) within a couple of weeks. Rausch Creek is a very club friendly OHV Park, with a little bit of everything for everybody, from stock grocery gitters to full blown competition rigs, RC has something for you. Translation: Don't worry about being stock, you will be more than able to run the green trails and possibly some light blues with your current setup MrGame. We will have a couple of trail groups - one stock, and one modified. Obviously, the modified group will be running more difficult trails than the stock group. Personally, I will be running with the Modified group for much of the run. We've already got BlackPanther Armor, L&P Performance and several others on board as sponsors for the run, and there will be a raffle type giveaway on Saturday evening after the club dinner (must be present to win). We are trying very hard to get a couple people from the Back Country Driving School to come up for the day on Saturday to give a Winching and Recovery Safety Course for us. All in all, this promises to be one hell of a bodacious weekend. So come on out, let's have us a blast!

They arrived today, and they actually look a LOT better than I had expected. One of them is PERFECT (well, it could use a little cleaning and a coat of hi-temp paint, but its solid! The other one has a very small hole where one of the downpipes is cracked about 1/2 CM in Dia...nothing an hour with a MIG welder can't fix...

Since you just bought tires, run with them for now, they're DECENT on dirt and small rocks, anything more and you'll wish you bought some ATs or MTs. Where are you located? I can clue you in to some Nissan specific 4wheeling clubs where you wont catch as much crap for wheeling an R50, or maybe more, who knows...LOL...but, it's all in fun.

Are you using OEM Nissan wheels? If so, the balance may still be off, if the shop did not use a Hunter 9700 (Road Force) balancing machine, or if they did, they may not have used the adapter plate. Try to find a shop that uses the Hunter 9700 and have them rebalance the wheels using the adapter plate. Also, have your alignment checked.

No kidding man...it just cost me $51 to go 252 miles....OUCH. But, we love them anyways.

I've done it many times, so I don't find it difficult, but then again, I've got the manual hubs, so they are super easy to remove. It takes me now about an hour per CV. My first one took nearly 4, and I was black from head to toe from grease. It's a messy job for sure. It IS something you CAN do yourself, but the job is not a fun one.

You should be fine Nasty. I tow frequently with my AC lift and 32s and never even come close. Just be sure to keep the tongue weight under 500lbs.

I'm going to argue that. The Geolanders are not very good tires. There are several reasons for this. While, I have never had them on my vehicle specifically, I never will because of the experiences of several friends of mine and family members. Every one of them has had to replace the tires within 25,000 miles of purchase because the tire wear is so uneven and severe. The off-road performance is rather pathetic, they offer little to no improvement over street tires. The on-road performance is down right frightening on wet or snowy roads. If your alignment is even off by 0.001", the tires will feather like crazy and you'll have to replace them. -thnkboutit-

I would call your insurance adjuster (YOUR company) and have them contact Progressive and the body shop. I had a bit of trouble from Progressive in the past, called my insurance agent and had it all straighted out in a matter of an hour. Progressive SUCKS! The reason Progressive doesn't seem to care is becuase YOU are not THEIR customer, so they have this mindset that since you're not their client, they can blow you off. Don't stand for it. Call you insurance agent, tell them what happened (ask them to make sure that this will not affect your record or rates before doing anything) and explain to them the situation with Progressive and have your insurance agent contact them directly, as well as the body shop. If your insurance company is not willing to do this, either contact a lawyer, or have a friend who is a lawyer contact them. 3 months is UNACCEPTABLE BY ANY STANDARDS! I don't care how much damage was caused to the vehicle, 3 months is WAY TOO LONG for a vehicle to be in a body shop. If the vehicle is going to take 3 months to repair, it should be declared a total loss. When I was having my problems with Dorschel and Progressive, I called the body shop to find out WTF was going on, I was irritated, to say the least. The guy on the phone pissed me off, so I told him I would be contacting my attorney and he would be calling you and I would file a report with the NYS Attorney General, which I did. However, I did not actually call my attorney. I called the shop back about 40 minutes later as my attorney (didn't say any names, so there's nothing wrong with it). I was put directly through to the general manager of the body shop...I think the words Lawsuit, Insurance Fraud and Criminal Charges struck his attention. 3 DAYS later, I had my truck back, in TIP TOP condition....they even shampooed the interior and steam cleaned the engine for me.
