  1. That high of mileage and "OK" condition makes it automatically not worth it.
  2. You got a bad alternator, my first Maxima alternator did the same thing. It also wouldn't turn on unless I revved it to 3500RPM. New alternator in, no problems with voltage spikes, not charging sometimes, and not turning on. I, being stupid, ran my Pathfinder at 18V for a few months. No damage done but the super bright headlights and gauges were nice.
  3. That looks like one of the ratchets I have laying around, and if it's the same one that really is amazing you bent it. I've jumped on mine with a 3 foot cheater bar and it didn't flinch.
  4. Sounds like it's the torque converter locking/unlocking if the revs go up a bit and back down. They all do it. No big deal. If it's actually downshifting and hunting, that's different.
  5. Also might want to make sure the ECM Coolant Temp Sensor is behaving as it should. It directly controls how much fuel is being dumped in to the engine based on the temperature of the coolant. When those misbehave a lot of weird things happen including horrible gas mileage. I've been round and round with those things.
  6. Hell yeah. Anything is better than spilling oil trying to get the jug down to the filler and funnel! Nice power steering reservoir by the way
  7. It says flywheel or drive plate. Flywheel is MT and drive plate, or flex plate, is AT.
  8. There's NO reason for the fuse to keep blowing unless you have a short somewhere. Swap lights, insert breakers, whatever... you still have a short somewhere. Find it and fix it, the problem goes away. I had this issue with my old Pathfinder that had a U-Haul wiring kit spliced into the factory brake lights in the rear trim panel. Piss poor job equals popped fuses and whacko blinkers.
  9. It was for better driveability. Spooled faster with the smaller turbine and higher CR, made the stock 5-6PSI (down from 7PSI) fine. Downfall is they can't push as much as a T3 with a manual boost controller so other than a completely stock car they're worthless.
  10. The information is correct. VG30ET 7.8:1 VG30I/E 9:1. 8.3:1 increased the power by about 5HP for the '88 Z31T even though they ran a smaller Garrett T25 turbo instead of the better T3.
  11. My grandpa unknowingly mixed regular green coolant with the Dexcool in his '00 Bravada. A few months later the heater core clogged, in the dead of winter of course, and when I took the thermostat out it was really goopy in there.
  12. I'm down when I get the motor and wiring harness back in it

  13. Say whaaa? That's about the worst idea possible.
  14. Hopefully it's not full of GL-5... I'd almost change it anyways just to be sure. That would suck as it will eat the transmission up.
  15. It was B. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=27415&st=0
  16. They are factory as far as I know.
  17. I took my bump stops off and boy what a mistake that was. My springs are getting saggy, so over those large speed bumps the tires would rub the fenders. Brand new shocks too. I put people in the back, even worse. Then the next day I had to tow a trailer and it was all bad lol. So make sure the suspension is up to spec before taking them off...
  18. LOL Tungsten you fail. Hard. I'd have to find somewhere else for my change but I think I'm going to try and snag one of those factory units. That thing is perfect for my coffee cup! Actually... I've seen a few cars in the junk yard with the same kind of ash tray holder. Bet I could make one...
  19. This is what they look like. I don't know the thread because my tools are at another house with a customer's Mercedes, otherwise I'd check. They are unique to the flywheel so no mixing and matching unfortunately.
  20. True dual exhaust with 3", 2.5", or probably even 2" would net you less power and torque than a single 2.5"-3" pipe. Duals aren't a good setup for a VG.
  21. That's odd. Seems like trying a new fan clutch would be a good idea, it's easy.
  22. If you want newer, GM LSx V8. All aluminum, put out a lot of power, very reliable, and are able to get 30+MPG highway in the right chassis. They are narrower than the stock VG, lighter, and only a few inches longer.
