  1. I have Bridgestone Dueler AT's on my 01 Manual Transmission SE right now. They are 245/70R16's, so I think they are one size smaller than stock. They were on the vehicle when I bought it in October though, so I've left them alone so far. They do very well in the packed snow/ice, but as others have said, I've heard the Revos are better.
  2. Yeah, I figured it would be somewhere around 5". I'll check my manual tonight and see what it says.
  3. lug nut spacing is 6 on 5.5 or 6 on 139.7 depending on how they display it, but I really want to know the backspacing. (Not enough to go out in the -20 degree weather and try measuring though )
  4. That sucks!!! pssd Let them try that again once you have your TJM though sly
  5. How big a tire has anyone used when lifting their Pathfinders with the 2" coil lift from AC? I was planning on getting 265/75R16's, unless I could get away with the 285/75R16's. I will be getting 16x8 wheels with 4.5" backspacing. On a side note, does anyone know what the stock backspacing is on the SE wheels that I have?
  6. I finished the driving lights install last night. To anyone that does this in the future--DO NOT PULL OUT THE RUBBER BOOT FROM THE FIREWALL It was almost impossible to put back in, I couldn't route the wire through the boot anyway, so it was useless of me to get it out. It is such a cramped area to work in and has all kinds of sharp edges that made my hand look like I let a puppy use it as a chew toy. In the end I just poked a hole through the boot to run the new wire through the firewall.
  7. Yes, the wire goes through the boot and out a "new" hole in the boot since it was impossible to try to get the wire all the way through following all of the other wires. I'll just use some electrical tape or a rubber type of glue to seal the new hole and it should be fine. Somehow I have to figure out how to get that boot back into the firewall though. Good point on the ignition-on wire. When I did this on my 94 Pathfinder there were how-to's that told the color of the parking light wire, so I had just planned on doing the same for this one.
  8. This topic has come up before, but there was never an answer, so maybe someone knows by now. I'm installing some driving lights on my 01 Pathfinder on the grillguard and trying to find out what wire I need to tap to get power to my switch with the parking lights on. Does anyone know what color wire and where to find it? It sure was fun getting the power wire from the relay into the cabin last night! I finally got the little rubber boot off that seals the firewall where the wires all go out, only to find it impossible to get back in there. Not to mention cutting my hands up on the zip tie things they use to hold all the wiring together inside the cabin. :X How did you get that boot back on? Final question is if I should keep the fuse going from the positive post on the battery to the new relay? If I don't have a fuse there I'm guessing the relay would then be the first to go?
  9. I've been using Firefox most of the time. Its nice not to have all those popups!
  10. 2001 with 54,000 miles: No lift yet Stock Wheels I bought this because the little things that kept going wrong with my 94 were getting old and I wanted something with less problems. So far it has proven to have been a good decision.
  11. Iv'e read a few posts on other boards that it's a recall....I haven't asked yet up here but as abomb1 said, I believe most people have them replaced for free. I think an oldy like my '90 they would say no...? So I just continually slam them in the door. I think its more of a federally regulated issue than a factory warranty deal. Seatbelts should never fail, so I would try for the free replacement no matter what year your vehicle is.
  12. There was a deflector on mine when I bought it, but I took it off, not sure if I liked the way it looked. Also, it seemed to come in contact with the hood in a couple places, so I don't know if it actually damaged the hood more than protected it. I have a picture on my cardomain site when mine was at the dealership, but its really hard to tell there is a deflector on there.
  13. Just bring it to a Nissan dealership and they'll replace them for free! I had the same thing going on with my 94 and read on one of the boards about the lifetime warranty on seatbelts. The dealer replaced them as soon as they could order them, no questions asked. That was just earlier this summer.
  14. Did they make R50's with disc brakes?
  15. Got some pics tonight of the brushguard on my Pathy.
  16. Wow, that WAS bad!! I bet you feel a lot more comfortable driving the Pathy now after getting a solid frame under you!
  17. Yeah, I would never have guessed you hit a deer with this thing. Nothing is bent and everything lined up perfectly when I installed it today. I'll post some pics as soon as I can get them. Thanks again dieselmunk!
  18. Do you have to remove your towhooks to mount the Manik brushguard? I just got mine today, but it looks like the lower mounts take the place of the towhooks.
  19. Welcome! Well, I'm from Wisconsin, and having the BFG AT KO's are about the best thing you could get for winter driving up here. I had them on my 94 and never had a problem with them. Have fun!
  20. I saw this posted on another board too, but just ordered now. Can't believe I saved $65 on an $85 strap (although they probably don't really sell for the full $85 usually). Thanks for the reminder mz!
  21. I agree with skrillaguerilla. If you plan on a lot of offroad, get the Xterra. There are more aftermarket options, and it is a body on frame vehicle. But if you will be using it more on the road than offroad, the Pathfinder is the way to go. You said you really like interior comfort, which is definitely better in the Pathfinder since it has more room and a little better ride. If you want more power though, you'd be better off with an Xterra. For the money you have to spend, you will be looking at the 2000 model Pathfinders and older which have the same 3.3L V6 as the Xterra does. Since the Xterra is lighter, that engine should give the Xterra more power than the Pathfinder. Also, there is the supercharged V6 that was available in the Xterra's which boosts hp to 210. The supercharger was not an option in the Pathfinder. Good luck with your decision!
  22. Welcome to NPORA! Your frame rot is very common in the 95 and older Pathfinders, especially if you live where they use salt on the streets in the winter. But you're solution doesn't have to be a new frame, you could get your current one boxed in with some stronger steel that would solve your problem. Click on the link to my cardomain page below and on one of the pages you will see what my frame looked like before and after I had it boxed in where it was rotting. If you do that, and start rinsing the inside of your frame every time you wash your Pathfinder by sticking the spray nozzle into the frame holes, you can keep it from rusting out anywhere else on the frame where it isn't already bad. Good luck with your frame fix!
