  1. Hello, I have a 94 Pathfinder and lately I have been getting a loud humming noise that I that I think could be from my tranny or the engine? Here are the symptoms and what I've done so far. I first noticed it when I was driving and the humming noise is pretty much in sync with the automatic tranny shifting gears. So I'm thinking its my tranny, maybe I need to add so tranny fluid or something? But then I put it in park and rev the engine and I can still hear the humming noise, not as loud as with the tranny in Drive but I can still here it. Underneath the car I notice that there is a fluid leaking right where the tranny connects to the engine...I don't think its motor oil because it doesn't smell like it...so I'm thinking that it could be transmission fluid. However I checked the level of my transmission fluid and it seems to be fine. Any thoughts on what it could be?? Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks.
  2. I don't know about other members but i come on here pretty often to look for information. Just that I don't post anything because most of the times the information I need is already covered in previous posts. But that would be a good idea to get more members to be active.
  3. Yeah sorry I don't have any pics...I haven't had the chance to take any pictures of the Pathfinder yet. But soon as I do I will be sure to post them up. Its bone stock so its nothing out of the ordinary.
  4. I have a question about the exhaust manifold studs breaking thing. I think that my 94 Pathfinder has that problem. Does the ticking keep pace with the engine rev? Mine has the ticking sound when the engine is still cool and quiets down when the engine warms up. However I can only hear it when i accelerate and it ticks faster as the rev goes higher. If it is the exhaust manifold stud problem. Does anyone know how much it usually cost to repair it if you were to take it to a shop? Just so I know what kind of prices to expect. Any info would be helpful thanks.
  5. forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question, I'm new to here and also new to the whole 4wd thing. What is the point of having neutral before hitting 4LO? What the propose that the neutral serves?
  6. Yeah I think I have that same problem with mine too. Its coming from the back and I don't know if this has anything to do with it but when I have the engine on i can hear a hissing sound from underneath the back of the car, near the gas tank. I dont know if this is normal or not? I can't smell the gas odor with my windows closed but when I open them i can smell it. Suggestion on what it may be anyone?
  7. Hey everyone, I just bought my 94 Pathfinder XE. I'm pretty excited about it. Its all stock and I'm not planning to do too much to it as far as off road mods goes. My Pathfinder is used obviously and its in pretty good shape for the most part but it does have some minor problems with it. Thats why I joined this forum so maybe I can get some info from other Pathfinder owners. I'm not a serious offroader or anything as you can tell. However I do want to get some BF goodrich all terrain tires for it just to get a little better traction in the snow. I'm from Minnesota and it snows a lot here. Well thats all...laters..
