I'm not a cop... I do however live in Houston, TX home of some of the most corrupt cops in the country. Ever hear of the K-mart bust? Stuff like that happens too often around here. I've tried being respectful and that usually just gets you about as far as letting the pricks know what you think about their police work. I have no problem paying a ticket for speeding(if I were speeding) or whatever. But when it comes to crap like the cracked window, or a taillight burned out. Then tend to use that as an excuse to pull you over waste over 1/2hr of my time standing in the heat and traffic while looking giulty as hell to everyone driving by gauking at you all because of one brakelight being out. They could just as easily inform you that the light is out and let you go about your business. And as for a cracked window... I'm like "Hell yes I know the f*&^%*g window is cracked. I'm saving money to get it fixed, and now I guess you being the pig you are are gonna write me a $75+ ticket just because you're that kinda person." Every cop has the choice to be a **** or to be a desent person... I tend to deal with the dickheads most because I drive right and don't brake the law(except for speeding if I'm around a lot of other cars running the same speed) so the only cops who pull me over are the ones that aren't looking for speeders/non-blinker-users/red light runners they're looking to pull over someone who "looks" suspisious to them so they can try to find drugs. That's why I only get messed with when I'm alone or with guy friends, and never when I've visibly got the kids in the back with the wife riding shotgun. And for the record I DO have a few friends that are cops. They are well aware that I will beat that ass if i hear of them being a **** to one of my friends... I already had to deal with one cop friend for slapping his wife around at a party. Everyone who was there was like "Oh you're crazy, he's a cop on the so n so police force." I'm like "Ya he's also an old friend from school who gets his ass kicked sometimes when he steps outa line."

I payed a local guy $100 even for a new/used windshield. He came to my house and installed it in about 20-30mins and even swapped out the inspection sticker... It was kinda cool watching him do it, but the pros make it look sooo easy. Besides he had a couple of fancy tools that seemed to help alot. Pulled over twice for a crack in the windshield??? Are the cops there smoking crack or what? That's just retarded, I would have let the cop know what I thought about the great job he's doing catching the bad guys... I hate cops like that... "Oh, I just pulled you over for that crack in your windshield. Hands behind your back, I'm running you in." Where are you located? Sounds like backwoods Arkansas where they study your car as you pass praying for a reason to pull you over and do a search. Sorry for the rant... Back to the subject.

I'm wanting to get one of the two soon. I see that the L&P guys beef up the centerlink, but the CALMINI HEAVY DUTY REPLACEMENT STEERING SYSTEM does away with the centerlink and has beefed up pitman and idler arms. Does anyone have any feedback for me on the two different setups? I knoticed that the calmini one addresses the bumpsteer problem, and they provide upgraded tierods.

What is the difference B/W Pennzoil VS. Valvoline

The cheapest semi/full synthetic around hear is motorcrapped for Phords. I think it's around $2 a quart. -
I just changed the plugs over the weekend. I was really worried about #6 after reading all the drama, but it came out and the new one went in with no problems... The plug wires were my downfall. They where a pain to get off and just as much of a pain to snap back on. I just used the short nissan sp tool for #6. The tool has to be angled toward the front of the truck a few degs. With the plug unscrewed all the way I still had about a 1/4 inch of clearance from the firewall. If you look thru the 2nd to last hole (with a flashlight) in the TB you can just barely see the tip top of the infamous #6 plug. Oh, and I used the long sp tool for all the other plugs. They were NGK plugs that I pulled out so at least I know one of the previous owners had some brains, even if they were put in way tooo tight. Just remember that anti-seize is cheaper than Heli-coils.

Being a Jeep driver I'm almost certain the spotter was at fault, cause lord knows when you're drivin a sheep you are the sh!t. That was without a dought the dumbest thing I've seen on a video since the retards spinning their cars around on pavement at speed with a crowd of dipsticks standing around by their cars waiting to be run down... You know what video I'm talking about...

Looks alot like the ford/chevy/dodge pickup truck redneck crap from Arkansas I used to see all the time... I swear they don't care what they use to lift the truck as long as it's as high off the ground as possible... That thing is just tooo tall. Looks like that guy went with 6 inch lift blocks between the axle and leaf springs. Good thing the engine doesn't produce very much torque. I bet he has to say "Aw damn, broke something else" every time he takes it out wheeling.

I just noticed it says "Sams Offroad" on the windshield.

They've got a BIG rock crawler at the walmart here in Houston. It's $150 and runs on 12v. It also has the controled trottle and steering. Here it is on the wally world website....

I'm needing to replace all 4 Ball Joints...
TrailChaser replied to TrailChaser's topic in The Garage
Ya, I don't think that's a MOOG part. MOOG is suppose to be one of the better companies. We have a couple of different parts that have other brands part #'s on the label. I guess it help cross reference them... The cheapo belts at O'Reillys have like 4 or 5 different belt brands and their part#'s on them... None of the "good" brands have those other PN's on them, it's only the cheaper "1yr warrenty" stuff. I put 2 upper BJ's on that were AutoDrive because the e-discount was sooo much better of a deal. I have 1 Autodrive lower BJ and 1 MOOG because the guy I work with ordered the wrong part. I'll report back in a couple of years if the cheapo fails before the MOOG. -
I haven't actually seen them either... I'm sure it's not gonna look like milk jug plastic tho... It's probly black plastic that seems like metal till you know otherwise... I heard this from a VERY reliable source. The guy knows his stuff when it comes to this kinda thing. For example, he bought a Fronty desert runner 2wd then converted it to 4wd his self when a friend of his converted a Xterra to a solid axle... Soon he'll be switching that same Frontier to a solid front axle. I don't think he made up the plastic ramp idea just to have something to say. Just curious here, but what would be the advantage of swapping out Pathy auto locking hubs with the Xterras??? Seems like a waste of time unless you screwed up your originals and those where the easiest to get your hands on in a pinch... I mean the warn or mile marker hubs are much better and don't cost too much. I'll ask and get more info about the plastic for ya'll .
-
The auto locking hubs have ramps in them (metal in the pathy ) that engage the locking action. Ever heard that loud bang because you shift from D to R to D? That's the hubs unlocking and locking back up under pressure. I've also heard its a problem when going down steep hills. That's one of the main gripes about Xterra and frontier hubs that I hear, and why they are in a hurry to switch out to manual locking ones. I don't think that what makes it a weak hub that's just one of the things that get pointed out.

When you say A arms, you are talking about the upper control arms right? I can not get those... Besides everything I can get from Oreillys is pretty much gonna be stock equiptment. We have to order anything aftermarket, whether it's for style/looks or for performance. Ordering stuff is a major price difference. You will almost always find the part cheaper online. I've checked enough to know... Winches, racks, bumpers, lights, recovery straps, and more were all cheaper at normal prices from online stores. Including shipping. I rechecked the Ball Joint prices... Here they are. moog upper BJ: $27.96 moog lower BJ: $37.04 autodrive upper: $9.97 autodrive lower: $16.56 -

Unfortunately, I can't get very good prices on body parts stock or aftermarket... We get all that stuff from KTJ so they jack up their price and we jack up ours 30% after that... I've looked at alot of their stuff and I could always find it cheaper at some online store. As for the welding jobs... I'm here in Houston... I just need to get that profile updated. -

The prices I put up were regular prices... I forgot to enter my # before printing that quote... My wife was happy about that. -
Icalled the local JY and they quoted me $75 for that fan... I dunno if I wanna do it just yet, but if it helps the AC blow colder while sitting still or just driving real slow it may be worth it.
-
I'm now extending my e-discount to members of this forum for easy to ship stuff. Here's an example of the price difference on stuff. $29.99+tax for the rear hatch lifts. $12.??+tax my price... That's not a set discount, just depends on what the markup is. $1.87 for any of the 3 belts for our pathfinders... That's the cheaper brand of course. I'll have to charge shipping and that alone with offset the discount on small ticket items. But for something like the lift arms I'd bet you could save a few bucks. Plus I'm looking for a new welding job so act fast. SORRY, THE OFFER IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE... I quit today for a welding job making almost twice the $$$ per hour.

I just remembered that the LE's also have heated tilting seats.(I'm talking about the seat tilting not the backrest) Can't forget the fancy power antenna, and the nice rims.
-
Don't forget that if you get a LE it has LSD and rear disc brakes.... :cool2:

Here's the one I was talking about.(even if I am a little late.)

I found one. A guy on TexasNissanTrucks.com has a homemade snorkle on his R50... He's the "Chief Technical Officer" of the club. screenname: system-f I'll see if I can find any pics of what he did with his... I haven't seen his truck I've just heard a couple different people mention something about it... I'll look into it. 4ya tho.
-
:o I couldn't agree with you more... That's why I was ONLY looking for a 93-95 when I bought my 2nd 95... I wouldn't have bought a R50 if it was the only thing avalible, I'd have gone with a Xterra... I'm not really knocking the X. It's just that sooo many people watch the commercials on TV or whatever and get this mindset about the Xterras being the only capable offroad suv that nissan makes or has ever made. Or if nuthin else they think the Xterra's are "better" than the older Pathfinders in offroad situations. No hard feelings mate.
