  1. MOTHER OF GOD. I drove around town today with no sway bars, as opposed to just up and down the street as I did before. AND HOLY CRAP the pathy has some hardcore body roll! Its a bit sketch but I got used to it in a matter of minutes, just need to slow down around those turns and stuff. The bright side is that over speed bumps and such you dont even feel them anymore even at 10-15mph its like flat ground.
  2. With the sway bars off on road its sketch....but off road I never tried it actually cause I had no way to tie it up out of the way.
  3. That was for the rear sway bar if I was not mistaken. I have had my rear sway bar off for 2 years now LoL
  4. I figured id just tie it up with twine since its what I have on hand.
  5. I dont know how it worked out like that, all I know is that my struts no longer top out (well actually once but I was baja'ing a speed bump at 25mph ) Body roll was also increased...maybe it has something to do with the vehicle weight being higher up? I cant really tell you why all I know is that its awesome. No sway bars makes it mo bettah
  6. Well I have heard from a few people that the front does have flex without the sway bars. I know for a fact Boston runs without one as did stryker. And Tyler, you will understand once you get a sfd...the suspension seems alot more plush per say
  7. Last time I disconnected my front sway bar the bar swung down cause its so heavy and as a result whenever I drove around the bar would rub on my cv's. Not that it will break anything doing that its just a big noise and id rather have it safely up out of the way. So what im wondering is where do you but the bar once its disconnected? I was thinking of possibly welding some wing nuts onto the sheet metal and then coming up with some kinda clip system to secure it. Need to go take a looksee and see what I can come up with.
  8. LSV= Load Sensing Valve. Its attached to you axle on a bracket. I just undid the hex screw on the axle side of the mount and zip tied the spring up. That way if im ever towing again I can hook it up if I feel its necessary. Here is a pic, you can see the bracket pointing up on the axle, and the spring tied up on the left.
  9. I know that im not always lookin at the pics/vids section so I figured id copy paste the stuff over here so everyone can see it Went out to a buddies land, they have 5000 acres and we just drove around and found some spots to wheel. Had a blast doing it and I even got my first stuck, I blame it on the hitch and the fact I attempted it in 2wd for grins lol. All the land is cattle land and we just drove til we found some cool spots you cant drive all the way around the land cause it would take too long. Also rode some quads and a ranger around...and man those rangers are little rock crawlers ill tell ya! You have to watch the video to see me getting stuck and pulled out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBcrzYANwdE Here is a motivational poster a buddy made to make fun of me, and it speaks the truth Here are some other videos I took a few weeks ago testing out my new lift and the panhard drop I made if anyone is interested http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUF0KdUzyX0 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_OoxBMiXko
  10. I dont know that the ss braided line helped at all, but what did make a change was taking off my LSV spring. When you lift the truck the sensor thinks that its less load on the vehicle and reduces power to the rear brakes. When you take it off, it fools it into thinking the rear is loaded down and increases braking power to the rear drums. Might be worth a try, you can always bolt it back up if you dont like it. But I def noticed a difference in braking with it disconnected.
  11. Good luck man, If you have the VQ its near impossible to find an accessable hole or port in the engine bay. Check my build thread for what I did with my roof lights and how I ran the wires from the engine bay into the cab...there are plenty of pics of what I did.
  12. So its still leaking, and my Parents just flipped out on me, they basically want me to park the truck til it gets fixed. They were all like we dont want you to wreck cause the line could blow out and the insurance is in our name...we could get sued if they find out your brake line was leaking...blah blah blah. I told them its a Braided stainless steel line and that the chances of it "blowing out" are VERY SLIM...and they dont realize it took a month to get, a MONTH. And if it does blow out than ill sue the company that made it, under no circumstances should a braided line burst with the stock equipment....not near enough pressure to cause it. I still have not figured out where its leaking from but plan on figuring it out here soon. I feel perfectly comfortable driving it around like it is. I filled up the resivor so I can track how much its leaking and such so imma keep driving the bitch.
  13. Yeah true, im saying if I was in the middle of a trail for which I needed 4wd and a cv happens to break or snap id be able to take it off and replace it...leaving the trail under my own power atleast. I dont see how it would be any more difficult to replace a cv on the trail vs the driveway...just get a tad bit more dirty
  14. I dont see why they wouldnt be interchangable....I am wondering now cause I have a spare with a torn boot that came off the drivers side...god forbid I break one on the trail and its the passenger one...I wonder if it will work?
  15. Well throttle response is definitely way better than before, there may be a few extra hp freed up from it like maybe 5. But your butt dyno will tell you different. The thing I love most is the sound, it really does awaken the VQ and make it sound great, kinda sounds like a 350z for a short bit esp in the higher rpm range.
  16. Well its a completely different motor so you cant really compare the noises. But here is a video I took when I first installed it, camera isnt that great so the sound is distorted...sounds better in real life imo
  17. I love my pop charger on my VQ, now I can actually be loud when going through underpasses and parking garages...even set off a car alarm
  18. I wish man, Im still broke which is why im hoping that the company will do the right thing and send me a replacement free of charge. If not ill have to just keep topping off the fluid everynow and then and deal with the leak. Atleast til I have the money to order a new one, this time probably from you since its from a different company. The brake fluid is eating through the paint on the rear diff too so I guess I will have to paint that after its fixed
  19. So last night the pathy was parked on the driveway for the first time in a week. I was outside this morning and noticed a wet spot under the rear axle. So I crawled underneath to see whats up. It looks like the rear brake line was leaking and had just started that night. I say it started last night cause I had been driving the truck throught the last week and there are no spots in the garage where I park. I went for a quick drive and the pedal felt fine...drove for about 5-10min stopped looked back up and saw it was leaking again. So I tightened up the hardlines into the t block dried everything off again and took it for a another 10min drive....it was still leaking...so I dried it off AGAIN and went and pumped the brake...sure enough there was the leak. Appears to be coming from UNDER the Tblock. No leaking from where the hardlines go into the block or anything. Im wondering if the actual tblock itself is cracked? I will try and take some pics and video tomorrow as it is now dark outside...but im pretty pissed about it...my 50 dollar custom extended rear line for the truck. Took nearly a month to get and ill be pissed if they dont help me out with the situation. So any other ideas on how to try and alleviate the situation?
  20. I have a load distributing hitch that was made by nissan, the only reason why I got it was to have a rear recovery point lol
  21. There are two front tow points, apparently the passenger side one has an advanatage over the other one which looks identical to me. In terms of the rear, where a hitch would bolt up there are two recovery plates that came on some pathys, use the same mounts as a towhitch so id assume they are strong enough. Whenever i need to get someone out I always just use the hitch which has a total of 8 grade 8 bolts attaching it to the truck so I feel comfortable gettin on it with that
  22. Had the same problem, made the mistake of taking it to the dealer to get fixed cause I was in a time crunch and didnt have all the necissary tools at the time. Simple job apparently, here is what mine looked like
  23. Man that looks awesome, pretty much exactly what I want to build
  24. I have always wanted to try and use an easy out to simply drill into the old bolt then bite it and reverse it out, but if you were torquing them there is probably alot of stress on that bolt already. What fleurys said was probably the best idea start with a small drill bit and progressively get bigger. I feel your pain, drilling at an angle is no fun
