  1. Hey sorry its taken so long for me to respond. I got the truck back this past Friday and it is now running great. I talked to the mechanic and he said that there was 2 quarts too much transmission fluid in there and this was causing it to bubble up and give false reading to the sensors. I dont know how it got that way since I have never had any transmission work done on the car and its never done this before, but apparently all it needed was a transmission flush. Thanks for all the advice.
  2. Yes its an Automatic. I checked the fluids and it seems fine. The loss of power/propulsion occurs in every gear. It takes a while for it to shift but I think that its only because the vehicle isnt traveling very fast its not like its stalling in between shifts just takes a while for it to reach the end of each gear. And there are no error code/check engine lights on. I took it in this morning and hopefully they will know what the problem is soon. Thanks for all the help.
  3. So the last 2 days Ive come home from work my car has experienced a dramatic loss in power/propulsion and I have no idea what it could possibly be. Here are ssome things that I experience: Happened the last 2 days while driving home from work, issue possibly related to heat since it sat in the sun all day prior to it happening Sudden loss in power/propulsion Throttle response/engine response seems normal however, there is no power to the wheels Feels like I am dragging a huge boulder Acceleration seems limited, like the car or transmission is in survival mode and wont let me accelerate quickly I don’t hear any noticeable noise or feel anything that stands out; just the loss of power/propulsion Ive been told it could possibly be the transmission modulator but Im not really sure. FYI, I have a 2004 Pathfinder SE 3.5L V6 and its got 84,xxx miles on it. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Ya I have the same rattling issue. It only happens between 1500-1800 RPM and only when in drive, it doesn't do it in park which is kind of strange. I already removed about one foot of my heat shield since it rusted through at the clamps. I would think that if it was the heat shield that it would do it both in drive and park.
  5. I've noticed alot of oil puddling under my car so I took a look. I noticed that under the oil filter was covered with oil and this piece was also covered in oil and I think that this is what is causing the leak. Is this the oil pressure sending unit? if so how much does it cost to replace it and how long would it take? Thanks! http://s566.photobucket.com/albums/ss108/Kmk2zf/?action=view&current=OPSU-1.jpg#!oZZ1QQcurrentZZhttp%3A%2F%2Fs566.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fss108%2FKmk2zf%2F%3Faction%3Dview%26current%3DOPSU-1.jpg
  6. Its been about a week of driving and I still periodically hear the noise. I now noticed that I also feel it in the break pedal when pressing on the break. Im beginning to think that it has something to do with my ABS since it feels similar to when I slam on the breaks and ABS kicks in. Does anyone know if ABS kicks in one wheel at a time or all four wheels at the same time?
  7. How fast were you going? because I'm pretty sure you tires shouldnt lift of the ground going slow.

Heres mine, her names Sophie and shes just over a year.
  9. I got a letter in the mail this past week saying that there will be a recall on my 2004 Nissan pathfinder SE. It basically says that there have been problems with the front strut housing due to the salt that is used for snow removal and that Nissan is currently working on a remedy for the problem. It goes on to say that when they come up with a remedy that they will send me a 2nd letter telling me to take my Pathy to a Nissan dealer and that they will replace and install everything for free!!! Heres a picture of the letter in case you guys wanted to read it.
  10. So I took the Pathy to the dealership today to see what exactly was wrong with it. Told them that it was making noise and that I thought it might have been the wheel bearing. The mechanic took it out for a drive to see if he could figure it out, and he came back and decided that it the fluids in the back probably just needed to be flushed. He said that in the 9 years hes been working for Nissan that he has only seen one pathfinder with a worn out wheel bearing, and that they don't even repair thing in the rear differential/axle, and that I would have to go to a specialty or high performance repair shop in order to get it fixed. So in two weeks i should be able to determine if it was just the fluids that needed to be flushed or if it was actually the wheel bearing.
  11. I had my brother in law go for a ride with me and he seems to think that its the wheel bearing that is going out. I got a letter from Nissan this week saying that my vehicle qualified for the recall so I guess I will be getting that fixed along with the recall.
  12. While driving home from school this weekend, I started to hear a thumping coming from somewhere under the driver side of my Pathfinder. At first I thought it was coming from the rear driver side wheel area, but then I thought I felt it coming from underneath me. The noise is a repeating thumping type noise, if I had to describe it I would say it sounds like a few lug nuts were missing and the wheel was moving back and forth hitting something, but it doesn't really have a distinct metal to metal contact sound because its kind of a low tone. It almost sounds like when you roll one window down half way on the highway and the fast wind makes that annoying noise. When it first started I thought it was coming from the wheel well, or maybe it was my exhaust that came loose and is now vibrating. But then when I started to apply the brake it felt like the brakes were slipping/skipping. Does anybody have any ideas to what it could be? or are there any common problem areas that I should specifically look at? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I haven't had a chance to look at it but I will update on what I see, Ill also have my brother-in-law look at it.
  13. Does anybody know if the 18" Nissan Titan wheels will fit onto my stock 2004 SE Pathy??
  14. If it starts when the terminal clamps are connected to the booster cables and the cables are not connected to another battery, this would indicate that it is a connection problem and not a battery problem. Try that cause that would be the easiest/cheapest test to determine if its the battery or the connection that is the problem. Just an idea.
  15. Ya this happened to me when I was installing the light on my roof. In the end, the cable clamp was not connected well enough. Just needed to tighten the clamp better.
