  1. Nice truck, Mike. Please tell me you have plans for it, i.e., lift and all that schwag.
  2. Noted. Thanks for the input. The truck's getting a full inspection Friday morning so I imagine everything will be checked and double-checked. Hopefully, it's mine by Friday.
  3. Nope, it was gear oil. Clear brown, funny smell. Definitely not motor oil. And remember, it's not a VG-powered WD21. In any case, the seller took it to a transmission shop this morning, and the gasket's shot.
  4. Is there a difference between the manual transmission on a TD27-powered WD21 and that of the VG30E-powered WD21? I'm looking at a '92 Terrano R3M and when I first when to check it out on Saturday, things were good. I was supposed to finalize the sale today but when did another quick check, the underside of the transmission was noticeably wet with gear oil. Between today and Saturday the seller put approx. 1,200km of highway mileage on the truck and noticed nothing out of the ordinary during the drive. Any help would be much appreciated. This is my first foray into the WD21 universe.
  5. Sounds like a promising mod. Hopefully, you can post some pics of your work.
  6. Shipping's the only kicker with an item this size...
  7. is now taking donations for the R50 build. Your support is appreciated. :D

  8. Your posted image has the fails.
  9. I've been a happy Pathy owner since April 2008. I'm on my second R50, which is an '01 Infiniti QX4.
  10. Can't say I'm surprised... I decline your offer.
  11. F*ck the haters, Mike. Nothing wrong with a Civic Si. In fact, the sedan in black looks pretty slick. A CAI would be a nice mod and has nothing to do with rice. I have to admit, though. I'm a bit upset you let your rig go without taking out the rear LSD and selling it to me. OT: It's been sitting in storage since February. I was waiting on Mike to pull the trigger because I know he wanted it for his R50. As of now, I'm debating putting up a for sale thread...
  12. Quite the development... Nice Civic, BTW. So... I guess you won't be wanting the TJM anymore, eh?
  13. Seems straightforward enough. Time will tell, I guess. For the record, I'd rather tackle a SFD project over a SAS one.
  14. Because of the IFS strut set-up on the R50, there are two "viable" options for those wanting to lift beyond the standard 2" coil set-up. I use the term "viable" loosely because either requires time and money, not to mention due diligence. These options are: SFD (affordable, practical and relatively easy) and SAS (can be expensive and more difficult but still pretty practical). I'd recommend the former if your mechanical skills are limited (like mine ) but some members have tackled the SAS option and have been successful. Beyond these, you'll be hard-pressed to make anything else work. Coilovers would be an option but that would require some serious fabrication/engineering skills and a ton of money. There was a coilover thread floating around here a couple years back but I don't think anything come of it that could be useful as a real-world application. A European company called ProFlex designed the IFS suspension for the Dakar Rally R50 Terrano, which was extremely capable off-road but obviously very expensive (IIRC, I think each side ran around $2000USD at the time). Based on what you're hoping to achieve, a SAS project would be ideal. It will allow for ample suspension travel up front and serious offroad capability. But if you're like me, the SFD option takes the cake because of its relative simplicity and cost. In any event, best of luck!
  15. Can't wait to see these. I'd be interested in uppers and lowers for the Q.
  16. No different than dropping $3-400 at a local muffler shop on a custom set-up; reputation's on the line just the same.
  17. If you're going order through Rocky Road, don't. Check out Rugged Rocks, instead.
  18. +1. $15K seems a bit high IMO. Of course, R&D isn't cheap. But even so, it shouldn't require that much time or effort to design something for the R50. It's not a race car.
