I have verified that is the thrust washer on the rear of the oil pump after taking apart the Xterra transmission. Did you ever figure it out yet?

There's only one guy that has done something similar in nature but it took him many years.

I don't know the location of the belt but you need to loosen the adjusters. It's like a 12mm nut or 14mm on the pulley and adjuster for the AC. Then whatever belt is in the way which I'm guessing are 12mm nuts and bolts on the adjusters and pivot bolts for the power steering pump and alternator. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

Stock timing is 15* BTDC. Did you get a new distributor or a used? How many miles? Perhaps gas cap is not venting?

Remember metal is a conductor. The plastic caps were there to prevent arching or a short. I don't know how the original pump looks like but you need to prevent the wired from touching any metal or from vibrations that could expose the bare wire. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

You could try Alibaba or similar auction sites like Ebay.

Have you considered taking out the jumper and plugging in the original harness. The only thing I see different is looks is the jumper just uses a separate ground.

I've had good luck with just using a few coats Rustoleum paint.
