yup, gel cell. i don't know about regular battery since i only wheel with the optima.. it's awesome and worth every penny.. get it cheaper at an Interstate outlet store... they are all over. i never had any problems with a regular battery that i used to have in the 89 though.. it was a factory one... it worked great.

buy an Optima and you're good to go regardless of any bumps... 4wheeling involves bumps.. i've ran my stereo for hours on end and have left my lights on over night and it just fires right up..

not necessarily at all.. if one tire moves but not the other the CL is shot... the CL itself may not move though except a bit upwods as a whole assembly (w/ the TREs)

yeah, i bet your CL is shot.. that's the weakest part of the steering.. get one from L&P or fab something similar... not sure about your pitman.. could be but any looseness in the wheels is most likely the CL... if one tire moves while the other is not (resting on the ground) it's most likely the CL..

my 89 didn't have that lock... i could shift the shifter without pressing the brake but had to depress the button on the shifter itself.

Dude, buy a small freeway legal motorcycle (185cc+ here) rather than a scooter. First off, scooters are lame. Second and MOST important, they are more dangerous !! You cant get away from anything by hitting the gas, and cars will crowd you until you are riding on the side of the lane and they are passing you. Bad news !! I have seen it a thousand times. Don't go there ! Also you sit 'in' a scooter and 'on' a motorcycle... If isht hits the fan, you cant get out of/away from a scooter fast enough. Obviously, make your own choices, but as a rider for 25 years, I strongly recommend against it !!! Get a Honda 250 enduro (on/off road), it will get 40-50 MPG, be much safer, and will take you down the trails the pathy cant. B safety aside... scooter doesn't have to be licensed in many states (read less taxes) and being 50cc the millage is more then phenomenal... tooot, tooot... hehehe
