  1. $135! I guess you get what you pay for! They look nice. Direct plug and play? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Interested in doing this, but nervous about cutting my panel.
  3. I drove a Tesla a few weeks back and tested out the self driving mode. It is freaky and so odd to not be driving but sitting behind the wheel. I won't say that is would be very cool on boring interstate trips from one city to the other. I love driving, but long boring interstate drives suck. I couldn't find the one for a 1998 QX4/Pathfinder. I think it is standard and there have always been basic and advanced. My 1973 Ford originally had a speedo, fuel gauge, and a temp gauge. However, there was an option for a rally gauge kit that had everything that I switched to. A car that's like a living room, you mean a Lexus?

  5. Hey y'all! I'm planning to wire some additional 12v sockets in my rig. I'm not an electrical engineer and could use some advice. Actually, I could use more than a little advice. Could someone help me build a plan? One on the left of the steering wheel for me to charge a cell phone or GPS or something that may be on the left side of the windshield. This one may actually be one of those dual usb voltmeter things. One inside the console for a CB One on the passenger side of the console One or two in the cargo area. I was thinking that I would run one red wire (what gauge here?) from a fuse box the engine bay to a new little fuse box under the dash somewhere. I guess it would be best if this was on a relay. I think I'd like a switch on the inside that turns on all them all on and off. That way I could have things on with or without the ignition being on. For simplicity, I could put that relay inside the cabin couldn't I? From there I could run a smaller wire (what gauge here?) to the sockets. Does each socket need it's own wire to the fuse box or would I have two or three on each fuse? I guess the wires to the cargo area should be a little larger too. For grounds, I thought I would find a screw somewhere relatively near the socket. It should probably also plan out anything else right? I also want to mount some led lights inside the hatch so they would shine down on the area when the lift gate is up. I was thinking about something like these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Flush-Mount-5inch-140W-LED-Work-Light-Pod-Combo-Driving-Backup-Fog-Lamp-12V-Jeep/153197939158?hash=item23ab4f09d6:g:4mMAAOSwtYJbraTX:rk:3:pf:0 For the interior fuse boxI was thinking about a block similar to the one below.
  6. Could a brace be inserted between the rails to strengthen that? I know in the Jeep XJ community folks are often finding ways to reinforce the uniframe.
  7. I haven't had a chance to test my mirrors... It was 75*F here today! You've got snow and I was sweating my buns off.
  8. I've been using this as an on board computer and it provides some gauges. I think what I will do is find an old iPhone and a method to mount for long term. They don't come on automatically, but works well.
  9. My 1973 Ford and 1980 Chevy pickup had a full gauge clusters. It just as drivers have become less mechanically inclined these became less popular. It could be that Japanese cars never had them. I found this thread where someone talked about a pillar pods, but I don't think anything ever happened.
  10. I've seen that and I'm planning on getting a voltmeter, I just need to find out where to put it.
  11. Y'all ever think about how poor the gauge cluster on a QX4 is? I have a fuel gauge, water temp gauge, tach, and speedo. An oil pressure gauge would be great. A voltmeter. Anyone installed any? Where'd ya put them and how'd you hook them up?
  12. My center console doesn't have a 12v socket there. Did you install that? If so, what did you tap into for the power?
  13. I can't open the pic, but could you get some QX4 flares from a JY?
  14. A 50 may be wider than the truck. Mine is a 42”. It’s about 39” from center to center in the OE rails. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Ham is probably the way I'll go in the long run, but as I don't have experience/licenses for that I'll start with a CB. It's cheaper too. I just got a deal on this setup. It's a start.
  16. Welcome. Do you have the FSM? https://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Pathfinder/2000_Pathfinder/
  17. No forgiveness needed. I've driven logging roads, hunting roads, some trails, and a little bushwhacking like I did in the video. I've only driven through water when I know what's on the bottom. I would say I'm a novice at most. Thanks for the kudos on the vid.
  18. There’s a hole right there about 3’ deep and it’s soft. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t even have entered it good before I got stuck. I turned around. That’s where the vid starts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I was using one of those little wooden two step ladders, standing on the very top. It would wobble as I rubbed and finally slipped out from under me at one point. Nothing to grab as I fell backwards into bushes and driveway. Things we do for cars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. I found it on eBay. My research brought me to the conclusion that a lot of the same ones for the $50-$100 range are all Autofeel. Lots of different sellers and ads, but that same manufacturer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
