I will. I'll try to get around to installing it before the end of February. I'm unfortunately not in a rush right now since every water crossing is frozen over lol. I believe the snorkel part number is SS720HF but I will have to double check when I get home. Enjoi, the hills were a blast. I had so much fun that day!

Got something new today...hoping to install soon. http://www.rigidindustries.com/Dually-2x2-LED-Lights-Set-of-two-p/twoduallys.htm

Being my daily driver, the last thing I want is an unreliable engine (mostly because I'd be worried about the tune).

Anyone interested in a R50 winch bumper?

I'll buy your TJM from you lol. In all seriousness, it looks like I need to explore different options. I'm hoping to get a bumper in the spring and this option is looking less likely as the days go by. -
More pics of Sunday's trail run. I'm posting the link to the album for those of you that have time to spare http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v241/projkez/offroad%202013/

Bump! -
I have no inspection to worry about here. I'm looking for some more power on the highway so I don't have to take overdrive off on every hills. It might be more cost effective to sell my R50 and buy one with a VQ35. I'll probably just learn to live with what I have.

Has anyone built a high compression VG33? If so I'm interested to know what tuning options are available to get the proper timing and fuel maps on the car. this would be for a 1997 R50. Thanks

So, you're saying that if the strut was removed from the front, the suspension would sit at the same level as when the strut is in and extended all the way? Only the ball joint would make the suspension stop from going further down? I'll have to check this out myself. I can't picture it in my head right now. I'm hoping to get down to Utah in May for GoneMOAB. If I do so I'd love to have a beer with you.

You're right, I saw that. That's what gave me the idea to retrofit a Frontier ARB or Calmini to mine. I'm sure the brackets are completely different tho, seeing how the Frontier is body on frame and the R50 is unibody. Let's get this group buy going so that we have something R50 specific!!! Come on people -
My AC lift is all done. Sitting pretty on 33"s.

Elongating the strut holes is the best way to go. If you do so I would recommend getting rid of the camber bolts. Otherwise I would worry about something coming loose or breaking while offroading. -
I'm positive it relies on the rod length to keep it from travelling too far. As for "correcting it", the ideal solution would be to first measure the CV angle with a longer strut rod (whether it's a strut extension or a longer strut) and see if it goes over the specified 33% (assuming this is the right number). If it doesn't, all is well. If it does, then I would say limiting straps would be the best option to stop the strut from extending past the CV's maximum angle. I'm running OME HD in the front and I haven't had any top out issues with KYB struts. My previous R50 had OME MD in the front with the occasional strut top out over speed bumps. I understand that you're trying to prevent strut failure but in the 2 years I drove my previous R50, I had no strut related issues even while offroading. I would say strut top out is something most can live with, especially since there hasn't been much reports of strut failures. Overall I feel safer knowing my strut can only extend so far without destroying my CV while offroading. I'd much rather drive out of the trail with a dead strut than a broken CV.

My fall back plan if this group buy doesn't go thru is to purchase a Calmini or ARB bumper for the 98 Frontier and modify it to fit my R50. I will be most likely be cutting all the mounts and making new ones. -
i'm pretty sure the total extension of the McPherson strut will be extended with a longer rod as it relies on the rod length to stop it from extending too far. If you increase the length of the strut with an extension I'm willing to bet that the spring will push all the rod out of the strut when off the ground with no load. Now whether or not it exceed the 33% maximum angle would have to be verified.

Any rubbing? Did you have to trim anything? -
Full coilovers would be the best. Ride height adjustment is great for adding or removing heavy accessories.

Thanks! Thanks Xplor As previously stated. They will be the same price as the 2nd Gen Xterra bumpers. Hopefully we can gather enough interest to get this going, 25 bumpers is a lot but I'm hoping there is enough people modifying their R50 to make this a success. It's pretty much the only available option right now beside custom bumpers and the price is definitely more than reasonable compare to ARB for the Sahara bar @ $1400. -
Good morning! I just had a chat with the folks over at Calmini. They would be willing to put their R50 prototype bumper from back in the day into production if we can get a minimum of 25 orders together. The design and cost will be the same as the 2nd gen Xterra bumper: http://purenissan.com/winch_bumper4.htm Please list your name if you would be SERIOUS about this. The next step is to get deposits to Calmini once we have confirmed 25 people. 1-Projekz 2- 3- 4- 5- etc

Bad Clunk when turning, or going over bumps.
projekz replied to ferrariowner123's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I'm gonna check that on mine. I'm hearing a clunk from a dead stop or over bumps on the passenger side. I've got new sway bar links, sway bar bushings, lower control arms, cv axles, springs, struts. I'm thinking my lower ball joint or top mounts. Top mounts looked good when I did my suspension... -

Replacing the CV is fairly quick and easy...Takes me under an hour to do one side. Wheel comes off, cap off, snap ring off, remove the 6 twelve mm bolts on the axle, remove 2 X 22mm bolts holding the rear part of the control arm, slide the inside of the cv shaft out while pushing the back side of the control arm down and slide the whole CV out. -
I doubt it would be worth the effort unless you got a donor truck for next to nothing.

If you're talking about Highway thru hell. It's between Hope and Merrit in British Columbia. Coquihalla Highway #5.
