Installed new KYB struts (and boots and mounting plate), OME HD coils, CV axles, and wheel bearings in the front end. It rides so much better now! Went down from 2 1" spacers to just 1 in the front so I don't push the CV's too far. Close to 2 inches of rake which is a little more than I'd like, but it's almost 3 inches better than it was so I'll take it, lol. (Old stuff REALLY needed replacing.) Going to be getting an exhaust when I take it in for an alignment I think. And as a side-note, I've had my spacers from Steve for over a year now and they still measure exactly 1 inch thick! Very good product man!!

Rust will do that. Doesn't look bad in the pics but I guarantee ya its on its legs, structurally. I overpaid for mine a bit because I bought through a dealer, but mine was $8K with 125K miles, basically because the interior was mint and it had almost no rust. Enjoy your California cars. I've decided whatever my next ride is (probably another Nissan I hope, and hopefully not for another 5 years) I'll be going on a trip down south or out west to pick up a clean one and roadtrip it home, Roadkill style.

Turns out I remembered wrong. I never looked at the plans very closely because I wasn't planning on doing something anytime soon when I first discovered them, and it turns out it's just an attachment that goes around the stock bumper. Great pictures as always! That's a super clean 4Runner too! (Maybe that's just because all the 4Runners in Michigan are $1500 rusted out pieces of junk and you're in Cali but anyway...)

If you can arrange to ship me and my rig to California I'll come! More seriously though, it looks great with the chrome emblems, really looks a lot newer! Very cheap way to drastically change the way the rig's back end looks. I've considered removing my rear sway bar, but I seem to have enough flex as it is, in fact I need to lengthen my bumpstops. Hopefully it yields useful results for you! Take lots of pics, offroading pics are the best.

Oops, I thought you said fog lights for some reason. Don't have those. I don't think they'll fit unfortunately, as the shape of the QX4 fender is different to compensate for the different shape of the marker lights. (They slope back.)

I like the tail lights. The other ones looked good too, but these ones really take the years off the truck and make it look a lot newer.

Huh, I never shop at O'Reilly's so I hadn't noticed. The Advance Auto website doesn't do that.

I have two sets of the ones from a 2002 if you're interested. They look a little different but are the same shape I think.

Huh, I figured their pricing would be fixed across all their stores. Don't they have the prices online? I would think the in-store pricing is supposed to match that... Anyways, it's good to know, so thank you, I'll shop around more than I usually do now!

Unless there's something 'they' aren't telling us... I just keep tools, some spare parts, towing/recovery stuff (shackles, tow rope, trailer hitch and pins, ratchet straps), nets for roof rack and trunk, an MRE, LED flashlight and extra batteries, and knife (plus another and a multi-tool on me), OBD-2 reader, first aid kit, and a folding chair in mine. I need to add a lot more. Case of water, tent, and more food would be good. A better first aid kit too.

Oh, OK. That makes sense. Mine are black leather so they wipe clean pretty well. My mom has cloth seats in her Ford Escape and they stain and just generally get dirty very easily, it's too bad we didn't get covers for them from the get-go.

What's with the seat covers and steering wheel cover? Are they that worn? If that's the case then that's too bad, as they look really nice in good condition.

Is your camber like this \ / or like this / \ ? If it's the first way, upgraded/new springs will make it worse. Also, it should only be that way if you already have a lift (in which case you need camber bolts). If it's the second way, they will make it better. You'll probably need camber bolts anyways, as HD springs provide a small lift compared to factory which will impact the camber. If you want it back to stock and don't want to use camber bolts OE springs (or springs to OE spec) are your best bet.

I have a link to a detailed diagram for a rear bumper with tire carrier if you want it. I'd paste it here now, but I have to dig it out first. I think it's bookmarked on my laptop... I'm going to either have one built or do it myself within the next year or so hopefully.

Wow, that's extreme. Do you know what caused it? Just high miles?

What broke??? I assume the part retaining the axle shaft? Never seen this on a Pathy...plenty of times on Jeeps.
