Hmm, Pathfinders don't pull off the doorless look very well! It does look very rock-crawler though. The half doors are so cool, but I'm 6'3" so I can lean pretty far out of an open window anyways, haha. I guess that pretty much settles that discussion!

OK I don't really want to do this (I like my interior too much), I'm just fishing for cool pictures. Maybe I'll photoshop something...

Yeah, I saw those. If I was really going to do something with my doors that would probably be it, but I'm curious if anybody's done something else, like tube doors. Maybe it's just something Jeep people feel the need to do so they can be cool? Who knows, we drive Nissan so we're already cool, maybe tube doors would make us double-cool.

Been taking a lot more pictures than normal lately, the overcast weather really makes my truck look good in my opinion.

Has anybody run their R50 without doors? (Just front or all 4.) I'm wondering if it would even look good or if the vehicle is sturdy enough. (XJ guys do it all the time and they have a unibody, so maybe?) Also, has anybody done tube doors for an R50? I know somebody did half doors which were cool, but not quite open enough to be worth the effort for me. I doubt I would even do this due to the fact that the wetness of the trails in my area would destroy the interior, just curious more than anything.

Greased the sway links. Have to get a flexible attachment for my grease gun to do the front driveshaft. Anything else that has a grease nipple on here?

I don't know why, just what the manual says. Mine's a Rough Country. Can't remember exactly what it says without looking, but it's something like disengage clutch and pull out 5ft, then engage clutch and spool out 15ft, then spool in 20ft.

Yup, it's a PITA. I'm not looking forward to the monthly spooling I'm supposed to do (going to have to do it tomorrow or never).

I do, hence why mine isn't perfect. 😂😂

Other than a couple trips to Silver Lake, it had never been offroad except for two times when it went in a group by my invitation. The owner loved finally using his Jeep the way it was meant to be. Unfortunately, this last winter his son was driving it and rolled it over. Luckily he came away with minor injuries, but the Jeep went to the scrap yard. The owner is now waiting for his aging pickup to finally die so he can buy another Jeep.

It's amazing how clean the sides of your truck are! No plastic panels or flares combined with no noticeable door dings really makes for a good look.

All good options that I should have taken advantage of. At least everything went OK this time (hopefully there never is a next time though). I'm not sure on the brand, I'll ask.

Since the last update I haven't done much with the QX4. Fixes: Put the new fuel filler neck on a while ago and haven't had the CEL come back, so I'm glad to have solved both of those issues. Also replaced the front brake pads, which I thought had a good amount of life left in them, but when compared to new pads were virtually gone! Only had to wrestle with one stuck slide pin, which isn't too bad considering every job with this truck seems to have some sort of complication. Fun: Went camping with it once, and the entire back was packed to the ceiling with stuff, 4 bikes on a rack on the back, and stuff in the roof rack. All said and done, it sat nice and level, continuing my amazement with how great this OME/sfcreation combo is working out for me! I also went offroading with a friend who just got an '03 Liberty which was also my first time with the new front suspension components, and I was again very impressed. I found myself able to travel over rougher terrain more quickly and more comfortably than every before, which is very nice. I just got a new phone, so all the pictures of this aren't able to be posted here, but they are on my Instagram (which is honestly a better place to keep up-to-date with what I do with my QX4). https://www.instagram.com/mjotrainbrain/ Future: I've got a coupon for a free 100-point inspection at my local Infiniti dealer, so I'll be doing that. I'm sure I'll need to be replacing my rear brakes at least, but between my dad and I we just couldn't get the drum off to check (rust belt is lovely), so I'll let that be their problem. Since I just started college yesterday I don't have a ton of time, but this upcoming weekend is a little longer for Labor Day so I'd like to start on some rust prevention by repainting areas that are starting to get surface rust, and then come up with a plan as far as rust repair in areas that are already damaged. I want to take good care of this vehicle, but I wouldn't be able to justify thousands of dollars worth of work. We'll see what happens. I also need to figure out why my heater doesn't seem to turn off fully. And it would just be wrong to make an update post without a picture, so here's something scary that I need to have resolved. When I was changing my brakes I discovered that this side only has half of a camber bolt.

These kinds of pictures really help me appreciate how far my truck has come, because sometimes it just feels like I have an unending list, but at least I've done so much already! It truly is amazing how much better it is offroad with the mods that I've done. Coming up on two years with the truck very soon, can't wait to see what the next one has in store!

I've been considering getting licensed just so I can get a radio whenever I want, that sounds helpful.

Changed the front pads. Looked like there was still a fair bit left on them, but when compared to the new ones they were waaaaaay down. Only had to fight one stuck slide pin. However, I did notice that one of the camber bolts was sheared off, which is 'interesting' considering I just got an alignment a couple weeks ago and haven't inspected super thoroughly since...hmm...

Since I don't have fog lights anymore due to my bumper, I plan to use that wiring for some LED pods, so this is super useful!

Driving is a lot of fun! (Not to say I don't wish my cruise control worked. )

This made me think, aren't self-driving cars creepy? Or am I the only one who thinks that?
