It's really too bad this build was never completed, however the V8 part was completed and did work! If my engine ever goes out and I have time to do a V8 swap, this will be what I do.

If the hinges are what's bent, then probably. I'd check to make sure you didn't tweak the sheetmetal though, that would make the repair extra difficult and you'd want to be prepped for that ahead of time.

For some reason this won't open anymore, and I can't seem to find the panels online. Does anybody have a link to them or the part #? I need to send the info about them to my fab guy so he can order what he needs to get it fixed about 1 month from now. (And yes, I'm excited!)

I hate to be the guy to say it, but search bar please! The search bar on the forum isn't always the best, so I usually just search in Google then add "R50 NPORA" at the end to help refine my results. Will newer fender from a QX4 (up to 99) fit the 96 Pathfinder? There is on in my local Junkyard that has a decent fender. Any know issues with this generation? Any quirks? Any good online parts store? Does any one know if there are any off-road front bumpers? seems like there is a lot of custom work that needs to be done to fit some out there Also, I took it out for some light off-roading; we totally blew the rear shocks. Any recommendations for lift kits? want to fit 33s down the road. 1. Not really. You can make it fit, but the headlights are a different shape from what I understand. It would be a bit of a hack job. Buy yes, it would bolt onto the vehicle. 2. Check out the recall list. Other than that, trailing arm bushings are a common thing. 3. Lots of people like rockauto. 4x4parts.com has a lot of the upgrades, as well as sfcreation.com. 4. ARB and MOVE. ARB is very expensive, and I don't know about the quality of MOVE (I also can't find any pics of their bumper on a R50). I went with a custom tube bumper; if you can make it happen, custom is the way to go! 5. There isn't really much in the way of a "kit", it's kinda just something that you piece together. Bilstein rear shocks are popular (you can find them for stock and 2" lifted on 4x4parts.com). Again, welcome to the forum! Nothing beats a free Pathfinder!

Those should fit perfectly fine. Tire size is withing the specs for stock-backspacing wheels, and the backspacing you have is the same as stock. It should fit just like the original wheels and tires do! (But look better of course! )

I can confirm fleury's response. I have the auto-mode t-case as well and have successfully used AUTO with the hubs locked.

I wondered if it worked properly, as I've noticed it working, and I've noticed it seeming to not work. I left it at the dealer for 3 days and all they had to say was that it should work fine...I've learned to drive a lot more defensively and haven't had any close-calls in a long time. I may get it inspected by a third party at some point, but I do trust the dealer's evaluation. Maybe in my situations where it felt like it wasn't working I just wasn't on the brakes quite hard enough (although it was hard enough to lock up the tires...).

I've never done any major work on the QX4 without my dad before, and today I did the ball joint solo. When we did the driver's side together it was a big job, so doing the other side by myself was a big achievement. Pretty happy about that. Gotta love having the suspension apart for the millionth time. Oh well, no more big clunks any more! In the past I've posted about camber bolts shearing off. At this point, my camber without them isn't that bad, so I'm just running regular bolts for now. When I took this side apart, the camber bolt hadn't sheared off, however the lobe was gone, it was just a smooth bolt! Perhaps this had something to do with my steering wheel shake, needless to say it had some slop in the hole...

When I removed my stock bumper for my tube one, that whole thing was exposed. Only took one good mud puddle to flood the engine. I highly recommend removing that squid-like apparatus, plugging the hole on the bottom of the air box (sheet of plastic and silicone), and putting a new hole (~4" diameter, with screen mesh to keep out stuff) in the top. You'll have to relocate the temp sensor too. If you'd like I can take pics of my ghetto setup. Have had zero issues with heat soak and have had it in plenty of water no problem.

Yup, that sounds like a CVT! So glad my dad ended up getting a '16 Taco instead of an R52. Don't know how long you've been out of the game, but there's some sick R51 builds out there now.

And good luck figuring that out, it would annoy me so much. My mom's Escape can't get out of our road (connects to a main road so the plows never do our road, and a foot plus of snow builds up by the stop sign) unless TC is off.

My ABS seems to do the opposite, it seems to only come on in some extreme conditions. I've been cut off on the highway before and had to slam on my brakes, and it just slid until I let off the brakes. It's a useless system. Oh well, insurance would screw ya over if it was disabled and you got in an accident.

On a similar idea, I wonder why people actually buy new cars? I don't want all the gadgets new cars have, and I could have a perfectly restored older car for much less! I think of this like an investment; if I put the money into fixing the rust, and then maybe in 5 years I have to do the drivetrain (suspension is already almost done), I'll still be in it far less than even half the cost of a new truck.

It'll fit just fine, you may have rubbing in the rear at full flex though.

Not sure where it was mounted, I didn't look closely in October, and when I was at the yard it was already gone. I had thought it was just bolted to the bumper cover, but there were no holes in it, so maybe something more elaborate that reached back behind the grill?
