Finally had a day to myself to climb under my 88 and really look at everything. Most of the rubber in the front end Is just held together with hopes and dreams. Left side tension rod isn't doing anything but looking official. Death wobble in full affect over 45mph. Don't want to do poly. Anyone make a big kit with a center link and all the steering bushings? Saw one on eBay but that's always suspect.

Lol, I'll post a pic tomorrow! Previous owner said engine and tranny were rebuilt around 300k but no paperwork to prove it. Starts right up every morning. Runs smooth.

I installed new door handles on the 88. No more climbing in the rear hatch!

Been keeping an eye out on eBay and see the explorer coolers around $50 with the make offer option. Might be worth throwing out some lowball offers

I'm new to off-road stuff, but I've built a few fast cars. I've seen tons of guys nickel and dime themselves to death improving base platforms with expensive aftermarket upgrades. They usually end up way over budget with only moderate gains. For all the cost and time of that conversion you could sell the 2wd and pick up a little factory 4x4 and mod it out nicely. Just throwing that out as something to think about.

Had a 240sx act very similar and it was the MAF. hard to track down because it was intermittent, but finally just replaced it and it never happened again.

Pouring rain today, but managed to flush coolant, replace overflow bottle, tear out some interior and start figuring out what I need from the JY. called one yard and they have a rear tire carrier for $45! Woohoo

I feel you. The pathy I just bought has been sitting in the desert for several months. Lots of poop and cactus buds. Going to strip the interior and start sanitizing it this weekend. And then find a mountain lion.

Nice. I saw those as well, and noticed they are suppose to fit all the way up to 95, so I'm hoping the small parts are the same as well. Don't know exactly whats broken or missing yet but I'll get the door panels off this weekend.

Noob here with new 88. My trucks handle and lock parts are trashed. Drivers opens from outside, passenger opens with vice grips lol. Havnt found any 1st gens in local yard but there's a few 92s and 95s. Anyone know if the door guts are interchangeable?
