Cleaned up the wheels today.

Already fixed the fenders. Fender flares catch the salt and mud and exacerbate the rust in my experience.

What did you do to your Pathfinder today?
PathyAndTheJets replied to RedRider3141's topic in The Garage
Replaced some retaining clips, meant to give it a good chassis greasing. Ran out of daylight. -
Got the title today. Took forever, but I bought it from the original owner.

RockAuto Customer Service Gone Downhill

I wonder if they made the vg33s non interference for the quests like they did with the vg30s. If that is the case you got the wrong engine. -
How many Miles are on your pathfinder

261,500 on my 88. Runs like a champ. -
My computer crapped out on me, so it'll be a while before I get more pics up, but it made the trip with no problems, and got an average of 18 mpg. So far it has used almost no oil. Not bad for 260k. 500 dollars well spent.

She's up on the rack now getting an alignment. Almost ready to hit the road.

Got the rust fixed on the passenger fender. The paint doesn't quite match, but I suppose it's close enough. Had to use an air chisel to get the rear sway bar link out. I only had one laying around, so I gotta run and get another tomorrow. My new power steering pump comes in tomorrow as well. Hopefully I can get everything done. Still gotta get the alignment checked as well. The ball joints were done in 2011 but the boots are all cracked and torn. Hopefully they didn't get too worn out. I'll definitely end up replacing most of the front end parts, but I can't afford to do so now. Time is running out as well. I should have some pictures posted some time tomorrow. Thanks for the support everyone. This is going to be quite the journey.

Got a pair of Datsun 610's sitting in the back too. It was a bit overdue for sway bar links.

New shoes!
-
Got 4 of em. 87, 88, 89 and a 95. the 95 is getting sold and the 89 is going to a salvage yard eventually. I'll get some pics of it with its new shoes sometime tonight. New fender is probably going on as well.

While swapping on some new wheels and tires, I found out it's got an LSD. Looks so much better with 31s

Its been a bit of a busy week, went up into the mountains to grab another Pathfinder, a 1987 SE V6. Super clean, but needs some mechanical help. But back to Ol' Red. Going to get two new fenders later today. Been spending my time cleaning, and doing minor maintenance. I think she is going to be looking pretty sharp soon. After I fixed the idle issue, she runs so smooth that you can balance a nickle on end on the air cleaner while its running.

Heavy oil consumption mystery - My truck eats oil!
PathyAndTheJets replied to JohnMasters's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Usually white smoke is burning coolant. Puffs of blue when you shift is usually valve seals. Check your compression. You can do this quick and dirty by unplugging one plug wire at a time and listening to the rpm drop. The cylinder that reduces rpm the least has low compression and may be the culprit. Just be careful, and try not to ground yourself to the body. It does not feel nice. -
Moar Pics! Bonus shot of my current DD

I wonder how many people from Ratsun are also on here... But back on topic, I really dig the Metallic green, and those tires are MEAN looking. What are your plans for this?

Needs a fender and a few rust spots fixed, but it seems to be in great shape. The 3rd pic down is the extent of the rust on the underside. I've got an 89 as a donor for CV shafts, new throttle body, and various mechanical components, as the body is about to rust off of it. The red one has 230k on the clock, maintenance records from at least 2006, another set of rims and tires, although they are shot, and a dirty but undamaged interior. Plus the strut rods aren't even waller'd out. So far 500 bucks has been a steal. Plans? 31x10.50s, a rehab and general cleaning of everything, fix the quirks, then use as a DD and weekend overland rig. I've got two weeks from the 9th of June to get it road ready for the 1800 mile roadtrip back to MN.

You wouldn't happen to have a blue IRS 620 would you?

Hello everyone, new guy here. Not new to Nissan's though. I've got an 84 720 that I've been DDing for the past two years. The carburetion is a PITA during the cold winters up here, so i figured why not get a Pathfinder? Picked this guy up on craigslist for 500 bucks. I'm headed down to CO to visit family and fix it up and drive back. But enough babbling, how about a few pics?
