  1. Aaaaaand apparently they dont make a universal right side upstream O2. Looks like I'll be splicing the wires from a new shorter O2 and lengthening them. So for anyone else out there with this similar but seemingly rare problem, this is the moral of this crappy story: My truck was manufactured in July of 2000 The upstream right side O2 sensors used on 3.5 R50's changed between 7/00 and 8/00 Bosch part #13630 is the correct sensor and male plug but too short, listed as a direct fit for trucks made up to 7/00 Bosch part #15343 is the incorrect sensor and plug but is the correct length. Nissan genuine part# is 22690-4w012 and is the correct length, sensor and plug but $230 at my local dealership or $156 on the web from courtesy nissan here
  2. Multiple parts, all too short. Going with a bosch universal. I cant in good conscience fork out 230 for that O2.
  3. 230 bones for a dealer O2 sensor. Called and they verified the unit they have was the right length and plug type. Im going to a local autozone to inspect a different unit by the same number one more time before i get robbed. Pretty bummed.
  4. Ive attempted to buy an OE direct fit Bosch right side upstream O2 sensor twice now, both for 01 models, but neither fit the bill. Apparently the only options are for rigs manufactured up to 7/00 or after 8/00. Both options wont work for my truck. The earlier model has the correct male plug but was too short, the later model is the proper length but wrong male plug. My truck was made in 7/00. Anyone else have this problem? I'll be calling a local dealer tomorrow but I was hoping to get away without buying from them. The original sensor is a Bosch A24-A71. The earlier model option I bought was a C24-A71 and had the correct male plug but was too short, which i attribute to the "C" designation in the part # The later model is the correct length but wrong male plug manufacture date of 7/00
  5. Hopefully sooner than later. I got it, just havent had much time these days.
  6. Dang CNAM, looking good! Any pics of the entire truck?
  7. Trip went well. Developed a few issues. Nothing too major. It rained on the way up ( yay for drought riddled California ) but no snow on the roads, just the mountains, which is great. Ive started to stockpile a bunch of parts again. Time is so scarce these days. I just need time to with my truck to get it all sorted out. I now have the stuff i wanted for the foreseeable future. Winch and winch bumper, LED light bar, front OME HD springs, KYB front struts, new OEM strut bearings, SFD, K&N intake, 33" MT's on 16" alloys and a few other odds n ends. Gotta add a tune up and exhaust to that list. Possibly sliders. If only i had 2 of me. I need a clone. 1st issue- Threw a P0171 code at me (running lean on bank 1) Im going to assume its an 02 sensor but its due for a full tune up so i'll start with that. 2nd issue- Developed the infamous coolant leak at the back of the motor. I'll deal with that during the tune up. 3rd issue- Exhaust started rattling a little bit. Heat shielding is falling to pieces. Time for a cat back system i guess.
  8. California to Washington-ROUND 2 I said it before and Ill say it again. These airlift bags are awesome. After 4500 miles the OME springs have settled and need the air lifts but this is the heaviest load yet. By my estimates I am right at the limit of the truck ( roughly 5000lbs ) and with the bags inflated to 30 psi it handles like it wasnt even pulling the trailer. Very solid but not bouncing at all. Almost a better ride quality with the trailer loaded like this and the bags inflated. This is the second to last trip to WA and all of my girls stuff/house stuff is going up ahead and ill stay here in CA until I land work. So the next trip will be the last. This trip will be about 1600 miles with no excursions to the Olympic Peninsula. There and back. Feel like a big rig driver. This is with the trailer loaded and the bags inflated. She barely flinches. Love this truck
  9. While yakima and other manufacturers make pre-fabbed items to hold down a spare, like everyone has said, a ratchet strap works great. If you prefer solid hardware you could always buy a length of threaded rod and use 2 pieces of flat bar with with a single, centered hole drilled through and nylock nuts/washer to clamp a spare down to the rack. CDN_S4, Im kind of jealous of the terrain you have up there. So lush, green and dense. California has turned into a dry, dusty tinder box and the last few areas that still get rain dont have trail systems. Im looking forward to Washington state but i hear they are in a state of drought as well. Grass is always greener thay say. Except in this case it's true.
  10. Sorry for the late reply. Its BLM land so camping seems to be first come, first served and free. There are 4 campgrounds, 2 in the north area and 2 in the south. Check it out http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/fo/ukiah/cowmtn.html
  11. Nice! Looks like a good time. Love your truck! The first time i took my 01 out it got ugly real quick with no way out of the trail but foward. Was really suprised with how well it did in stock form. So were all the jeeps, UTV's and dirt bikes. Got lots of stares at the top of a rocky, wet climb.
  12. Sounds good to me. Ill check to see if i can reserve a campsite for friday night.
  13. How bout you, Delta? What works for you? Weekend after halloween?
  14. Well i guess it could be whenever works for everyone. We just got a red tag contract so im digging my heels in for some serious OT for at least 2 weeks. Probably Halloween weekend or the weekend after. Google says 2.5 hour drive from Oakland
  15. I'd like to organize a run to South Cow Mountain near Santa Rosa towards the end of October. Ive never been there but the people Ive talked with said its pretty fun and has trails of varying difficulty. There is camping for those that would want to make a 2 day trip out of it and its close enough to make a day run as well. Anyone interested? http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/fo/ukiah/cowmtn.html
  16. Great photos! Trip looks like it was a blast. What was the total mileage when you were done?
  17. One of the last runs to storage with the trailer.
  18. Im down. Still in the Bay for a while
  19. Im still in CA. Finally done with the move out and clearing of way too much stuff. Moving sucks but the hard part is over. Here in CA until i land a job. Camping/wheeling trip in the Sierra's anyone????
  20. Brake light issue ended up just being the fuse behind the storage bin on the left of the steering wheel. Hey 96Pathfinder4x4- What "T" connection did you use? For now i ended up running a U-Haul kit which is not the best but got the job done. Do you run a brake controller too?
  21. Hrm, well i was trying to skimp on gas costs by running shell/safeway 87 or 91 when i had a gas accumulated a discount through safeway for a while but opted to run premium 91 and 92 when available for this trip and it hasnt pinged since. Could just be crappy off brand i safeway gas. Thats what i get for being cheap i guess.
