  1. Well my original mast antenna is broken off, and I am trying a Metra amplified "hidden" antenna, and wonder if that is part of the problem (similar to this one:) http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ALnaeOQVVja/c...;search=antenna Someone at another forum mentioned that maybe the radio is pulling more power than the stock wiring can handle, and to replace/upgrade that wiring. I was hoping to avoid doing any rewiring but it looks like I'm stuck with it
  2. Well the radio is in, but am experiencing some other problems - on AM radio there is a lot of crackling sounds which gets more frequent with higher volume. On FM radio, the sound is fine, but after around 3-5 minutes the sound will just fade to nothing. And when playing a CD, with lots of bass, the sound will cut off completely. Turning the radio off and on again only temporarily fixes the issues. I know its not the head unit as I get the same results from two different units. I also have replaced the door speakers with some low end Pioneer speakers. What could the problem be? Grounding issue? Perhaps the stock speaker wires?
  3. I am the second owner of my Pathfinder, and decided to switch out my old stock radio: I don't have any rear speakers, and apparently, no amp either. The Metra harness I bought only fits onto the bigger one for the front speakers, and power, etc. but the other half that has the rear speakers and amp power wire doesn't connect to anything. The unused part of the Metra harness: The harnesses on the Pathy: The blue connector above originally connected to the blue plug on the stock radio (as can be seen on the top left side), and I'm guessing was just to power illumination of the radio face. There is nothing underneath the radio area - where would the stock amp reside if I had one? Also, the Metra harness has an orange wire, as well as an orange and white wire for illumination - which would I use?

  7. HOLY CRAP! There was barely any oil on the dipstick, and when I drained the oil, there was hardly anything coming out. Filled her up with some fresh oil and let it run for a few minutes and the ticking sure enough went away. Time to get my oil pressure gauge sensor replaced, and check the oil more regularly By the way, I have the oil pressure gauge (not working) and the oil light - are those two separate sensors, as the oil light never went on.
  8. http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a268/Dry...=0413071906.flv My engine started ticking quite loudly today - is this the dreaded exhaust manifold bolt problem?
  9. Has anyone tried those vynil/leather repair kits that auto stores carry that have the patches of vynil and a hot iron to apparently melt them into place? http://www.permatex.com/products/automotiv..._Repair_Kit.htm I'm thinking of trying it out to repair my chewed up door armrests.
  10. Another reason I never thought "The Club" or even the one that locks the accelerator/brakes were effective: http://www.clubbuster.com/clubbuster.htm

  12. Your radio may not actually use the illumination and positive dimmer wires. For the chassis ground, attach it to a metal surface on your car, usually by one of the screws that hold the radio in place.

I believe the "D" in the section above from the Acronym list post is referring to the D in the engine names (VQ35DE and not to the body style designations listed below it.

    heh

The best part is at the very end where the tech shows how to service the mechanism: "if it is above 10 RGs, replace the unit. If it is below 10 RGs, you will be directed to perform a series of tests that will effectively raise the billable service hours, but will perform no other useful function."
  19. Thats a whole other thing - some troll posted a shock web link
  20. http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread.php?thr...t=&pagenumber=1 Cliff notes: Guy on forums reports his friend was in a hit-and-run accident. Another forum member happens to be on the scene as well with his camera and takes very clear pics of the guy who ran.
