  1. Oh man, I didn't think these bolts would be such a pain to put back in - I was wrestling with getting the dern things back in for at least an hour and still don't have both bolts back in yet. Argh!
  2. How do you tell the difference between the two fans, if they are already out of the car?
  3. Thanks for the feedback - looks like I will go with the 31x10.5s to be safe.
  4. So my 87 I4 2 Door Pathfinder came with 30x9.50R15 tires mounted on 15x9.5" wheels. I thought that was an odd size to have on my Pathfinder, but there didn't seem to be any problems, except for wear. So I went to the local Big-O-Tires to get some new 30x9.50R15 tires, and the mechanic says that the 30x9.5 tires shouldn't fit on my 9.5" wheels, and should at most go on an 8" wide wheel. Obviously, I've got those size tires on my wheels, and they hold air fine, so Is this guy full of crap, or what? In any case should I stick to the 30 tires or go with a 31 size tire?
  5. Just a note: I never did like the location of the starter on the V6, as it sits just below the oil filter - I always make it a point to cover up the starter with an old plastic bag when I change the oil filter so that the old oil doesn't spill all over the starter
  6. Addendum - because my ex-wife hates them
  7. Yet another Flowmaster 40, with 2.25" custom catback and stock exhaust manifold/cat piping: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/wm/8b58...8f500275d6a.htm
  8. One thing that could help spot where the leak is coming from is that florescent oil dye that shows up with a black light. You add it to your oil, run the engine, and use the black light to spot where the leak is coming from. Usually works well.
  9. Another thing to check is the oil pressure sensor - thats where mine was anyway.
  10. Hallelujah! My front grill has been hanging on by a pair of clips http://autobodyclips.com/index.php?Search=nissan
  11. Squires Turbo Systems has a universal kit that you might be able to work with: http://www.ststurbo.com/universal_system The main problem I would worry about is all that dirt getting onto/into the filter from down below - of course that's not much of an issue with a Vette that doesn't go offroad
  12. Both of my brake lights on my 87 are out. I checked the fuse and its still good - any other place to check? My next thought is to the switch on the brake pedal, but want to see if there are other things to look for. Thanks!
  13. Better than the stock location and getting oil all over the starter, though Plus it looks like there is some room to put a pie-pan under to catch the oil while changing.
  14. Oh, you mean like this? http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.p...age=1&pp=20
  15. They have been crushing cars here in California for a while now - quite a waste IMHO. While I don't condone street racing, I feel that they could have done something more productive with the cars like sell off the parts. Heck, in some counties they will pull you over and want to pop your hood just because they "suspect" you are going to be street racing, for example, due to a louder muffler, even if you are just puttering along and following the speed limit. So much for due process.
  16. I noticed my PS fluid was leaking pretty badly and noticed there was a bit of a gap between the bottom of the steering box and the pitman arm: Is that normal to have that much of a gap? Either way, I guess I'll be looking for a replacement - are all the V6 WD21 steering boxes the same - for example, will a '95 fit on my '87?
  17. AWESOME! The pick-and-pull near me only has ancient fords and chevys
  18. I just use ramps j/k I actually found what I was looking for:
  19. What are the best places to put jackstands on an 87 Pathy? Also, the manual isn't quite clear (at least for me) on where to jack up the car. Its safe to jack up from the rear axle, yes? What about from the front?
  20. You could get one from here: http://www.scantool.net/
  21. Unfortunately, none of the JY near my area have don't have anything but very very late model Fords and Chevys. Thanks for the replies.
  22. My switch to open the rear glass hatch fell apart - can I just replace this with a regular momentary switch?
