What is your review (performance / drivability etc) of the new LSD in the front end? -
Well then someone must have been mashing that button even before I bought the truck lol I mean the whole assembly is loose not just the key inside it... the whole cylinder is loose almost as if I could just take it out and Im sure someone could fairly easily... As far as the funky wiring, there are 2 wires that go down towards the starter so I think it is related... not sure why its so jerry rigged tho and wired up nasty... I'd rather just remove it and put it back to stock but I have no clue what wire goes where.... The ground wire on the battery definitely needs to be replaced. And I got a CEL yesterday -- checked the codes and its a 33 - o2 sensor.... meh its always something to fix on these things! i just wanna to wheelin once I get new tires!

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=Mud-Terrain+T/A+KM2&partnum=105QR5KM2RWLV2 is this the same size you got? I really love the square look rather than the rounded donuts look like these as much as I really love these KM2's... it'll give me more of a reason to find some trails here in socal! But are they noisy on the street? I posted the KM's by accident and I meant these ^^^^^^ -

I dont "Need" them lol I just like how they look - i just dont know what the best size is for mostly highway driving (and not big on the noise) so thats why I was leaning towards the T/A KO's which is on the truck now in various stages of wear... -

I'm trying to decide between this: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=Mud-Terrain+T/A+KM&partnum=575QR7MTAKM And this: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=All-Terrain+T%2FA+KO&partnum=375SR5ATAKORWLV2&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&autoMake=Nissan&autoYear=1995&autoModel=Pathfinder%20XE%204wd&autoModClar= Of course the KM2's are bigger - I don't really want to run a huge tire w/o a lift so I'm leaning to the 2nd option which are more for daily use.... thoughts? What are the biggest sizes I can run on the OEM rims without rubbing or being too loud / and soaking up power? Thx! -

Grr I wish i could just edit my original post! anyways to improve ride quality on the highway, should I just go with OEM bushings instead of the polyurethane ones? -

Awesome! How do you like having an LSD in the front diff? Does it crab walk when in 2H when making tight turns? How is the drivability on and offroad? https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/control-arm-bushing-kit-p-4125.html I'm not sure if this covers everything needed for the front (im doing the ball joints too) https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/pathfinder-bushings-pathfinder-front-bushings-c-435_377_349_741.html Here are the front bushings list for our model - what else do I need? Ive already replaced the sway bar bushings which has only made the older parts even louder! lol https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/pathfinder-torsion-bars-p-94.html Also thinking about getting these - the front end is sagging and I want some additional performance when taking bumps... right now the ride is pretty harsh even with new Rancho RS5000's.... -
Yea its a push button start.... if I put the key in and turn it where the dash lights come on it starts..... weird. that might explain all the weird wiring on my battery! Also the part that you put the key in is very loose and the plastic trim around the ignition is also removable .. It looks like it would probably be pretty easy to start it w/o the key.....

What I meant was are those the same bushings he used in the rear of his pathfinder (the red bushings that you can see in the pics above)............ http://i698.photobucket.com/albums/vv348/Ryan95Sanman/Truck%20Build/IMGP0248_zpsa76cd3e2.jpg -

https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/complete-pathfinder-split-design-trailing-arm-bushing-kit-p-6244.html is this it for the rear? -
One thing I tried was holding it while cranking the truck and it started immediately... I pushed it again and I heard the SHRRRRRRRRRR sound you hear if you try to start the car while its already running... this just makes me even more curious.

Can you link us to the front LSD that you got from calmini? Its not on their site.... Also can you list all the bushings that you replaced? I'm working on replacing my torsion bars, ball joints and control arm bushings to make the ride smoother and quieter.... great rig! looks badass -
well not to much... the chattering is still there......... sigh
-
Its the button to the right of the steering wheel... I should have snapped this pic after the truck got detailed ha

what about the button just to the right of the steering wheel thats covered in rubber with no label?

Tachometer Resistor and other electrical madness!
enkrypt3d replied to enkrypt3d's topic in The Garage
Can someone post a picture of their battery area? I know the blue things are the relays and they should be mounted to the inside of the engine bay on passenger side fender...... but that harness that is wired, anyone have something to compare it to? I tried googling but that didn't help much thx! -
Tachometer Resistor and other electrical madness!
enkrypt3d replied to enkrypt3d's topic in The Garage
I don't think there's been a fire as there's no evidence of it - maybe the ground wires are shredded but when I got the truck, it had a very large amp (5K watts) and 2 15" subs in the back that did not come with the truck.... I had a stereo shop remove most of the cables which was connected to the + side of the battery but I dont get what is still connected to the + side of the battery? And for the tach resistor is that the thing on the bottom right of the distributor cap?? It would be nice to know what the engine is doing as var as revs go ...... -
So my tach doesn't work and I've read that the tach resistor is connected to the distributor cap - is that the small black thing that's connected just to the right of the distributor cap? I tried pulling on it to see if its easily removed but it doesn't appear to be and its hard wired into the wiring harness .... The nissan dealership couldn't identify the part but the part number is 24336-c9900 - http://www.courtesyparts.com/resistor-a-p-300014.html I can not seem to find a part that looks like this in the engine bay or is this the one behind the instrument cluster? Ok so now for a slightly different topic - what in the heck is going on with the positive side of my battery!? It was like this when I bought it .... there are a few of the blue relays laying near the battery and wires spliced everywhere... I have no idea what is going on here and any help would be greatly appreciated! I have a closeup shot of it if needed... Thx!

so if I got one out of a junk yard im sure it'd most likely be toast requiring rebuild right?
-
np - the trick is to #1 find one #2, find one thats not toast and #3 thats the right model... from what i get I dont want the VLSD we want the CLSD?
