  1. Hi all, I haven't been around for a while as I sold my pathy long ago(sacrilige I know). Am I ever glad I work at good ol'CT; I got some afterwork-time in the shop...air tools, tire machine, hoist, the works! gave me a chance to finally get my spare off the old steely and onto the proper al-you-min-ium wheel soooo shiney! cleaned out the K&N cone for the CAI...what a mess that was(first timer here). Finally got my hands on a timing light to reset the timing but when I set it to 12 the idle goes up to 1200. Adjust the idle screw you say? its maxxed out, I can't so 15 it is for now I guess. I started a thread in here about my engine quitting when I let off the gas...got that solved.....dashpot yeah. AND....drum roll...scored 2 free tires ...buutt one is a full size spare(no wear) and the other is at 1/2 tread. So, the big question for any experienced members is- Is that enough of a difference on a normal LT tire to eff up my diffs? I'm a little worried, but if anyone in running like that with no problems (front and rear) please lemme know as i would really like to save the $300
  5. Changed out a flat so now its one steely vs 3 aluminums. Worked out some wiring issues and gave my rad the finger
  6. Its all hopeless. Jap and u.s markets lost their character years ago. Xterra what? that should have been the next gen pathys to carry on for 2 decades. Instead nissan went with pathy, xterra, xtrail, armada....what the hell company carries 4.......FOUR...... SUV classes? Nevermind Infinity....i've lost all hope

  8. I swapped my dashto a 93 and im having the same issue below a 1/4tank. I cant find the reason for my life. Just wanted to chime in ciz im happy im not crazy. It seems to mess up at the same point so i just keep it above 1/4
  9. Despite the bad comments i like the look of the headlight pop out. My question is where did you get the JDM side markers and turn signals? I've always wanted them but cant find them. Even my buddy at ProbodyParts cant gettem for me
  10. Hey 94, if you cant find the bolt he's talking about,look at the ps pulley. You have to turn it so one of the holes is at the top. The you can slip a socket right onto the mounting bolt.
  11. They are you engine grounds. They connect to your manifolds where th heat shield mount hole are. Not a major issue.

  13. Ok so i was reading an u. Related thread and...FACEPALM. No warm air intake and no egr makes for one hell of a coldair charge in the manifold. An thank fo those tips dowser...except dor the "saskatchewan winter front"...i got that one covered.
  14. didnt think aboit the sensor as it will start right back up and run fine...was thinkin maybe a tb issue but ill check it out when it warms up in april. As for today its -effin hellC again and well...shes outta commision an in the parking lot at work. Good thing i work at can tire....in auto service
  15. Ok so here's the what's up Today, It was -49C w/windchill and I had all the normal problems: STIFF clutch, molasses in the tranny, no turn signals etc(anyone else have these happen?). But, these are all fine; I know they happen and why, except the signals One thing, however, I just can't figure out. When coasting to a stop the engine dies immediately. No sputter. No chug, No shake. It just drops smoothly down to zero rpm. If I dump the clutch or turn the key(without doing anything else), it starts right back up like nothing is wrong. Here's how it happens: On the clutch off the gas, over 3k rpm -25C and colder. *if I tap the gas as light as you can imagine, when its below 3k rpm, the rpm drops just as smoothly down to idle. **from 0C to -24C the same thing happens but only down to 400rpm, then it bounces back up to idle. I'm usually really good at figuring this stuff out, but I'm stumped. I can't even find an answer in the Good Book. Anybody?

The ram air from snorkel needs a little more math than holding a bag out the window to debunk, but simon is right on that one too (insert gr.8 physics class here). who else tried the blowing on the hand thing? bahaha.
  17. It was -30C today...i turned the key and almost wept as the last of the battery power turned her over this morning. Maybe i,ll plug it in tonight.
  18. Looked at swapping my turn signals with the side markers...harder than i thought. Installed the left mud flap in the passenger rear footwell(damn rust). I might relocate the right one tomoro...for asthetics only of course.
  19. Thats really tricky. How much O2 are we talking about? If its alot, then you MAF is going to assume that mix is 22% O2 and adjust fuel accordingly. However your O2 sensor wil read that you are burning lean. I have an 89 so im not sure if your eccs will adjust fuel based off the O2 sensor( mine doesn't). If it does, then you are back to square one. Also, without a way to adjust the oxygen flow with the throttle you are going to really mess up your fuel map. If its just a tiny bit of O2, inject it at an even flow after the MAF. This way if the O2 sensor can change the fuel ratio, it will do it based on the same mass of air(sans the extra O2). the result wil be slightly more fuel with slightly more oxygen to help it burn....if the eccs doesn't use the O2 sensor for fuel mapping, the mixture should just birn alot better and you'll be running a little lean. this could be very interesting. I look forward to reading about what happens...good luck mano.
  20. have you remove the airbox recently? I had a similar problem last summer. It turned out to be a pinched vacuum line. It made for quite a violent ride.
  21. Don't drive it much since i bought the new fiat. went to service brakes and rotate tires...Jack slipped, Truck fell, jack-stand hit me in the mouth...twice. Teeth though the lip never feels nice. Next up> service brakes and rotate tires when my face heals..then body work.
