  1. would about using a sprayer to spray rustolium paint in there, (after of course you clean it out) That should work. Mark
  2. So has anyone had problems with the longer bolts breaking due to too much leverage put on them from being longer. I have had a few people tell me that you are stressing the bolts and that they could break due to the arm being out further. since so many people have done this there has to be a failure for this to be true. Mark
  3. The most important thing to be replaced in an a/c system that has been opened its the receiver/dryer. It has removes moisture from the system and if it has been left open it has absorbed all the moisture out of the air that it can and it will not be able to absorb any more. It is possible to flush all the other components in the system except the compressor with denatured alcohol to clean any impurities. The receiver/dryer has to be new. Also it is a must to flush out any items that have the oil from an r-12 system when converting to r134a. and never reuse a receiver/dryer from an r12 system in r134a. The oils are not compatible with each other. You also cannot flush the evaporator without removing it from under the dash. There is a valve and orifice that makes it almost impossible to flush when left inline and you don't want to flush the valve. So with that being said you can reuse parts as long as you clean them. Also if you flush a part and you get metal shavings or other debris to flush out, It probably is not a good idea to use it since you will not be able to get it all out and one of those shavings could take out a compressor or clog your valve/orifice. and replace every seal o-ring you come across. you do not want a leak. Unless you have a A/C Vacuum pump you will not be able to evacuate the system properly and you will not be able to charge it with freon. The system has to be under a vacuum. Also putting the system under a vacuum and letting it sit will elp verify you do not have a leak, but you will not be sure until you charge the system. Mark
  4. Slick, Here is the link to the place where I got my bumper, as you will see I ordered it without the rear tire carrier. (as I already have one) Like I said he takes forever to build them but I liked the quality I received in mine. Mark http://www.kenmtnac.com/MCNissan.html http://www.kenmtnac.com/
  5. Got plenty of bully power just need technical know how for setting backlash and gear interlock. Setting up the gears to be correct is the tough part. I will keep you guys in mind for future projects involving brute (unless you know something about setting up rear ends) Mark

    Pull Or Push

it should pull from the radiator side and push air toward the engine side. think of while your driving how the air flows. you would not want the fan to fight against the air coming in from the front of the truck. mark
  7. Hey DryBear, Pm me your shipping address and I will send you one. Mark
  8. Well I have to start somewhere. I will definitely be checking out The Upper Fremontia after I conquer truck hill (hopefully). Damn I wish my lockers would just install themselves already. They cost enough that they should have installed themselves. Oh well. No pain no gain right. Mark
  9. you will wipe out the input shaft bearing fast running low on fluid. I would get the correct amount in there ASAP. I had to replace my transmission after listening to autozone who told me that gl-5 is what I was suppose to put in there. Gl4 is impossible to find around here. I ordered from summit at 7 bucks a quart. Mark
  10. Well, as much as I would love to go, I have to get started on my air lockers. It will probably take me a few weekends to get them both done, so you guys can probably count me out for the month of may. The first place I am going when i get my lockers done will be to Hollister hills. I got a date with truck hill. when you guys go be sure to check it out. Looks pretty challenging. and why don't a couple of you guys try it and let me know how you did. Maybe it just looks hard and it is actually pretty easy. I was watching a little quad looking thing try and climb it and it failed miserably. I may take a trip to Sonora on Sunday that is if a friend of mine does not flake, he will probably flake. If we go it will be for wheeling, fishing, and shooting. Such an awesome combination of outdoor activities. Mark
  11. I should be home about 6:30-7:00pm tonight I will call you to see if you want to pick it up. You can have it for free. I don't want anything for it since it is used and as it was working before there is no guarantee that it will work after sitting for a few years. But since it is so easy to replace why not give it a try. If I get home early I will call you when I am on my way home and give you directions and an ETA. Sorry I did not check my messages yesterday otherwise you could have gotten it yesterday. let me know if ya want any more parts off it. Mark BTW I know this is a friendly board but I would remove your phone number from public view. You never know what kind of wackos are out there. huh what! wackos! that drive pathfinders!!! Naa! no way!!!
  12. I have a curt Practically brand new Installed but never used. I am getting a integrated hitch/ rear bumper so I do not need it anymore. Mark
  13. I have 1 out of my 1990 pathfinder you can have. It worked fine before it was wrecked. (that is if they are the same. The fuel pump is a quick change as long as you are doing the whole assembly. just unplug the harness and remove the screws for the pump assembly and 2 hoses. if your truck is lifted (and it is) very easy to get your hand in there to disconnect the hoses. Let me know if you want it . I even tested the sending unit and it is within specs. Mark
  14. If you have a switch in the center console that would indicate a factory alarm. It would be a 3 position switch with the center (If I remember correctly)being off and up was impact off. It has been a while. And there is no FOB with the alarm armed you have to unlock your door and turn the key in the ignition within 30 sec or it will go off. Mark
  15. Anybody have any experience installing an air locker on a nissan. This would be for the front r200a. Or If anybody knows of a good diff or rear end guy let me know. Mark
  16. wheeling in the middle of the week. That is not fair. :sniff: I gotta go to work. sucks. pssd can't go this weekend either I have to put my new torsion bars on and get realigned. Good thing I got the lifetime alignment deal at Firestone. Then again maybe i could get that done Saturday and then go wheeling sunday Mark
  17. Or could be the fact that I work in redwood city and am only home on weekeds and after 8pm. And when I am not at work I am working on my pathy. Mark
  18. I will get some pics taken as soon as it stops raining. The last four pictures are of My Pathfinder after the lift. select view now http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/Al...165/t_=88532165
  19. I almost ready for some wheeling. Got my pathy aligned, got some new (used tires and rims) got my jeep springs in the rear (thanks Slick for the Part number) and my new bilstein shocks installed. Just got to finish up some loose ends with the parking brake cables and the rear brake line (caused by the 3 + inches of lift that the new springs created) also might have an issue the the abs sensor wire length not sure what I can do about that. Seeing my pathy all up high with the new nobby tires makes me want to go wheeling. Mark
  20. Man, Calmini sent me the wrong pitman arm. Now I gotta put my steering on this weekend then get an alignment and new tires. not time for wheeling this weekend!! Crap!! Mark. Still trying to get rid of the hollister dirt under my pathy. Keeps landing in my eyes when I work on it!
  21. when i replace my transmission I thought it was coming from the real oil pan seal also. But after a little experimentation i discovered it was just residual oil coming from that spot above the oil pan. Still did not stop me for cleaning the rear of the oil pan and putting Rtv in between the pan and the block. Last thing I wanted to be was wrong about where the oil was coming from after putting the transmission back in . What a pain in the ass. Mark
  22. I just installed my Hushpower. This thing is long but small. I hooked the muffler up and drove it for a day before hooking up the tail pipe back up. Boy was this thing loud, Reel Deep tone, No high pitch noise. When i put my tail pipe back on Most of the sound went away. I think I am going to replace my stock 1 3/4 in tail pipe with some 2 in. May just take it to a shop though and have the tail pipe made. don't want to spend too much money on it though. It still sounds better than my stock one did. I will see if i can get a sound clip although I do not know how. Mark
  23. I just ordered my hushpower muffler for my pathy. we will have to see how it sounds when I get it installed. My muffler is barely hanging on and about to fall off. Mark
  24. It is probably coming from just above the oil pan. There is a little shelf that catches oil when you change your oil filter. It sits up there and when you drive it blows all over the place. Most of the time it looks like it is coming from the ream main seal as it is running down the back of the oil pan in between the engine and transmission. I thought I had a bad rear main seal and had checked it when I pulled my transmission then i found that little spot and put 2 and 2 together. I have relocated my oil filter and I have not seen a drop since then. Mark
  25. Here are some photos. I am not too much into drinking! YET! But I am always up for some wheeling. just click on view now to see the album. Mark http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/Al...165/t_=88532165
