  1. Hushpowers are not big at all. They are straight in and straight out. Kinda like a glass pack in looks but nothing like it in the build. I will get a photo of my install to post. Mark
  2. No Resonance problem with mine, then again I only have one. This is not the same as a standard flowmaster Not even close in any way. Total different animal.
  3. I had problems with the collector bolts backing off and ruining the gaskets. I bought some copper ones from summit and all has been perfect. Also you may have to retorque your header bolts they will loosen up after a couple of heat cycles as the gasket material will compress with each heat cycle. I wish they made copper header gaskets but I was unable to locate them. Did you check to headers for leaks before installation. I taped mine up and blew into them to check. I also ordered a clamp for the crossover pipe as I was leaking there. Mark
  4. I have got a hushpower muffler hooked up to my pathfinder. It fell off a couple of weeks ago (stupid clamps) and then since it was hot I strapped it to my roof rack and it flew off the roof rack. After all of that I did a little straightening out of the ends and I just welded it on permanently. It took alot of abuse and they are extremely durable. It still sounds the way it did new so nothing got broken. It has a really deep V8 tone at low rpm however it gets a bit ricey at the upper 3000 rpms. That was with not tail pipe. Once I put the tail pipe back on it still has the tone (just not as deep) and it is not ricey anymore. This is with the stock tail pipe I imagine it would gain some noise with a larger tail pipe. One think I noticed My tail pipe never got hot with the stock exhaust I could grab the tail pipe with my bear hands after 20 min of idling. With the hushpower installed (I also have thorley headers installed) the tail pipe gets hot enough to burn my hand after about 5 min. From what i hear this is a good thing. Mark BTW. the hushpower is nothing like a glass pack.(except for maybe shape) there is not glass in this muffler all solid stainless steel.
  5. Almost forgot about the Carnage. My muffler came off (stupid clamps.) My air line got hot and blew (stupid poly tubing) and a stick got jammed between my parking brake cable and my rim. Then my friend (jeep owner) was like whats wrong with your truck can't even climb over a log. He was still going on about it even after i showed him the stick jammed between my parking brake and the rim locking up the tire. I guess I am suppose to not have parking brakes like his POS jeep Then that never would have happened. They are just jealous that my pathfinder tore it up that weekend so bad that they did not want to even go wheeling. so I will be doing some welding and copper air line this weekend. Mark
  6. They actually call that red. I know but that is what they call it. Red and white with blue eyes. Funny since her mother was black and white and her father was red and white.
  7. I just went camping near sugar pine. I will post some pics. I don't have any action wheeling pics, because I was the only one wheeling but I have a lot of scenery pics. We went the week of 4th of July and did not see another person the whole week. Its good to have the KEY. Not to mention with some creative wheeling no key is really required to get in. Pics are here. to cut down on bandwidth and storage space use for npora. Click view now http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/Al...165/t_=88532165 Mark
  8. I had 3 break on me. 2 of them i got to remove with an extractor and the third one i did not drill straight and took out some of the threads. I drilled it a little larger and installed a helicoil. I have had no problem. If it is not drill way too big you could have a helicoil installed. First take it back to the shop and bitch at them. Mark
  9. There are some differences in the spline counts of the shafts. Not sure what years, But if you do find the splines are different you can just take the whole pumpkin with it. Just remember Slick, The pinion nut is missing off of shadow. Make sure you put one on and torque it to the proper spec before driving it. Mark
  10. I used these in mine. Too bad they are now discontinued. Maybe with a little searching you could find someone who still has some stock. Mark http://www.ecklerscamaro.com/product.asp?d...mp;pf_id=718176
  11. Holy crap, that would be a pain to do it that way. I replaced mine when I did the timing belt, thermostat, waterpump, cam seals and all of the hoses. I think as long as I replace that hose everytime i do the timing belt I should never have to do it that way. That sucks.
  12. at least it is an easy fix on a jeep. almost a trail repair if you had some coolant. and a spare thermo. Leave it to a hot day and some altitude to expose the weaknesses in a cooling system. Mark
  13. The sad thing about the disrespect thats youngsters is they ruin it for us. I can't count the number of times I have packed out more than I packed in because of these punks. It almost makes me wish we had some control over who can use thease locations and who can't, but we live in a free country and unfortunately these people are free to leave their trash. I don't think we should close these trails, but maybe a little education on respecting our nature. we need to put some cameras in the trees to catch these punks in the act so they can prosecute. Mark
  14. Costco has it for 49 bucks. just bought mine last week to run my lockers and I used my rear bumper as a air tank. Fills my bumper and lines up to 105 psi in 5 min. Mark
  15. That sucks. I would be ticked. I would be getting another vehicle after it let me down like that. But then again that is what jeeps do.
  16. SWEET! More pathy's then xterra's I wish I would have went, Slickrock would have been awesome to try. My Pathy is soon to get rock rails then I will be set to avoid the carnage. Make sure you guys let me know when another trip is planned. I am pissed I missed out. Oh Well. Mark
  17. I decided to do them both at the same time. I have some photos of the install. I had a little problem with the Rear Pinion. The shims were scored really bad. So I had to wait 9 days for the stealership to get them in. Costed me 109 bucks for a variety of different thickness shims. I replaced all the bearings while I was at it. It was not that hard to do the rear gear setup just a lot of attention to detail. The front on the other had was a PITA we had to make several of the tools that are in the Nissan manual including the spreader. The front required a lot of repetition I replaced the side bearings in the front but left the pinion alone. I also on both differentials took a gear tooth pattern before disassembly so I could put it back where it was from factory since the gears had already started to wear in and I wanted to set it back up to continue to wear in the same place. I will add the photos to this post when I get home tonight. After finally getting it back together we took it for a test ride and everything worked great. There was no gear howl or any other abnormal noise. I did notice a big difference in the turning. It seems to turn much easier, I don't feel the push from the rear that I used to. Mark Here are some pics of my air locker installation. http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/Al...165/t_=88532165
  18. So how was the trip? how many pathfinders showed up and how many xterras? Is it something you would do again. any carnage, anyone get stuck. Details. I want to know if that is a good spot to wheel in the future. I have to find some place to wheel this weekend. I am itchin. I am pissed that i missed this one. Mark.
  19. weekdays not good but weekevening might work. I can get home by 5pm should give plenty of light to load her up and unload at your place. Let me know so I can plan my day to get off of work early. any weekevening should work with enough heads up. Mark

  22. Man !! pushy arn't we... Just trying your damedest to get me to commit.. worse than my girlfriend Update! I will not be able to make it. Crap hit the fan at work. I hope to make the next one though.. I am really bummed I really wanted to go. I will have to remember that trail in the future. Mark
  23. your probably right. I don't need to bust out all my gear. I go on a week long camping trip every 4 of july weekend on private property up past sonora. I don't need all that crap for a 2 day trip. I have a huge tent not worth setting up. Mark
  24. most probably YES. I am still fighting with myself. Still don't know how much time I will have to find all my gear. Mark
  25. It would be great to have more pathys than xterras.. since it is the xterra group that is hosting. I will try not to make fun of their WART. It is the only thing about xterra I can't stand! WHY WHY WHY! I just want to take a hammer and bang it level. And why did they have to make that cut into the glass. it is wrong I tell you WRONG!! ok I feel better Now. If i go I should have it out of my system so I don't offend them talking about their wart. ack!! yuk! eew! Mark
