The crank pulley is a 23 mm IIRC. You probably need to remove some goodies to get to the bolt. I'm on my phone or I'd look back at my pics when I diagnosed my mucked up engine.

My friend, who is a paid mechanic, tells me if the SES light comes on, put electrical tape over it. He also tells me if you hear a funny sound, turn the radio up. He's just kidding (I hope?)

Yeah, that looks like my aluminium guard. I dig the bars over the head lights. Cryphix, find out where Brit got his. That is a good deal if you just want the rugged look. It can withstand the added weight of off road lights but, I wouldn't try to attach a winch to it!

Weird you inquired about that model year. I just pulled a (unknown to me) muffler from a '96 Pathy at my local U-Pull-It. I also grabbed the LCA and various interior trinkets along with the rear sway bar. I think that with that many parts from the '96, I should round my Pathy down to a "99".

Dang it! I wish I was lazy enough to have thought to do that. Some of those heat shields (that weren't rusted yet) were hard to remove. I'm just guessing that is the OP's issue as he/she is located in Cleveland.

Yikes! It looks like an inch off of the slider will take it to the weld.

To add to Towncivilian's gas cap recommendation, make sure that you are turning your current gas cap until it "clicks". You would be surprised how that could trigger the SES indicator.

Actually, I think the extra space gives the fender a more dramatic visual "height".

First, welcome to NPORA! Second, your '96 has a VG33E engine which has a timing belt, not a chain. I'll almost bet money that your rattle is coming from your exhaust heat shields rusting off. You can crawl under your Pathy when every thing is cool (before the engine has been started) and start bumping the exhaust pipes with your fist. A lot of us have completely removed all of the shielding from the catalytic converters all the way to the muffler. I have had mine removed for a couple of years now and have yet to "go up in flames". Of course, this might not be the source of your rattle but, it is the easiest thing to check.
