  1. Keep in mind the 02 sensor goes into the exhaust pipe after the Y junction and the pipe goes to single. You will have to weld an o2 bung to the pipe. The big hole in the header is for your egr. I just blocked off my egr when I went vg33. Made things a lot easier.

  2. I moved a green LED from an Un-needed and damaged CA emissions ECU to a good working M30 ECU.

I'm assuming the M30 ECU never had green LED from the factory because they intended the dealer to use the consult plug for pulling codes. I do not and will not have consult but I am sure that since I added the green LED that I will be able to pull flashing light codes in the same manner as the stock pathfinders.

that's awesome man. are you going to be doing any experimenting with custom tuning at all for the vg30e now that you will be running mpfi? I am running a vg33e swap with intake/headers/exhaust and soon to be 3.0 cams. I would love to do a custom tune to really unlock the power of the motor now. Looking for anyone else that has any experience and it seems you do have experience with ecus! :P I have a bag full of eprom sockets that will fit an 8 bit nissan ecu. should work perfect for plug and play chip tuning on the ecu.

  3. looked around for a hardbody manual steering box and no luck! so i started reinforcing the stock idler arm. cut a piece im welding along the arm to truss it and then welding up a idler arm brace. ill get some pics tomorrow when i finish :) should be beefy enough to hold up to my 33x12.5 no problem :)

  4. Hey my1path that's exactly what i was looking for. 19" sounds like it would be the perfect length to stuff in there so they wont fall out, as my stock springs basically fell out at 16", the JGC barely stay in at 17", one side more than the other. 2 more inches on top of this would be PERFECT. My only question is i will be running a spare tire carrier + 33x12.5 spare on the rear and want to retain most of the height, this is a travel/expedition rig so it will be loaded down quite often. will these springs be okay for that or will i sag down when i am loaded up ?

p.s. i have a spring compressor so getting them in is no problem.

  5. lol... I did those when i first bought my pathy. Had a nasty front end vibration and my rods ended up being a little chewed and the cups squished.. Energy suspension bushings and a coat of powder coat and front end was 50% tighter. HUGE improvement over worns units for people who haven't done this yet... i suggest it.

  6. I can attest to the difference of power between the vg33e and vg30e. it woke my pathfinder right up. i would DEFINITELY put this motor in a car any day, just use your old vg30e cams in it and it will have a higher torque curve. i got my whole vg33 engine and accessories /misc parts for 200$ but I had to pull it. look around man. it's worth it!

i am now seriously considering doing a vg33e-t swap on my z32 slicktop

  7. hey everyone just wondering if there are any options for rear lift springs for the pathfinder that use a LONGER and fatter spring to achieve the lift... I have 3" longer than stock rear shock extension length and when i max out my flex my springs sit loose, one side more than the other. I could use limiting straps but if possible I would like to just use longer springs so I can utilize all of the articulation. Any options for me here??? thanks

edit: i have in JGC springs now which i believe were 17" when i measured them.

  8. ahh perfect. This is why I love this forum! Exactly the information and opinions I was looking for. I have decided to hold off on putting them on just until I can get these alloys powdercoated in gun metal like my current rims as I just love how they look. The guy at the tire place said I might as well leave on the steels for now as it's still winter and the harsh new salt spray they lay on the road is supposed to be really bad for bare aluminum rims. Once february is over and I can get these rims powder coated, they are going on. :)

20 lbs per rim was my CONSERVATIVE estimate. It's probably closer to 25 lbs honestly. I remember when I was powder coating the rims they were monstrously heavy. I just got the spare mounted on one of the alloys and my god is it MUCH lighter than the ones with steel... I'm sure switching from oem steel 15x8 to alloy 15x8 wouldnt be as severe. but these aftermarket 15x10 are THICK steel. I wouldnt be surprised if it was closer to 30 lbs per wheel. I would guess these alloys at 25 lbs each. I would guess the steels at over 50 lbs each. I'll try and get some concrete numbers when I get one off, as now im purely curious!

So really I could be driving around with close to 1000 lbs of extra cargo worth of drag!?!?!? Wow.... lol My vg33e pathy will feel like a rocket ship after putting these rims on. :)

  9. Okay yeah i have to say it's BEAST construction. Look at the pic... Do you see how many times it's been hit, and HARD? theres massive chunks of paint missing and it plays 100% perfectly.... lol. I said screw it it's lasted this long im not gunna cage it. I'll leave the tools loose in the trunk. :) hahaha

  10. Hey everyone. I am currently running 33x12.5 goodyear duratracs on 15x10 powdercoated steel wheels. Today I acquired a set of 4 older chevy rims that are 15x8 and alloy. I was just looking for a spare rim that would fit my 33x12.5 spare tire but i ran across all 4 alloys for 100 bucks. They are in great shape. Although I love the crazy low offset of my 15x10's (the wheels mounts closer to the inside edge of the rim, it's very low offset), they are very heavy.... Must be at least 45 lbs a piece just rim weight. The alloys are quite light on the other hand, and they actually fit the pathfinder nicer as far as rubbing is concerned, but dont look nearly as beefy if you ask me. :P.

My question is how much do you think this would help my power and gas mileage by switching to the lighter alloy rims??

15x10 steel low offset vs 15x8 alloy zero offset.

  11. well im going from personal experience with reliability. my sonys have never broken or failed in any way. many of my friends have been through 1 or more jvc decks within the 5 years i have had my one sony. still works perfectly. heres a couple pics.

  12. If you want to get a cheap deck get a sony. I have always used them and have 3 and NONE of them have EVER failed. even the 5 year old one still doesnt skip and it plays scratched discs.

anyways.. in my pathy I am rocking a Sony Xplod deck 52w x 4. they are running to 2x phase linear 5.25" round speakers in the front doors and 2x MTX Thunder 5"x7" in the rear headliner. Running a 600W Kenwood amplifier to a 600W Sony Xplod 12" subwoofer.

It's rockin enough for me!! I did it all custom, the fronts look stock I made the speakers fit under the stock covers and in the rear headliner I made adapters for them to fit in the stock holes and look clean and removed the stock covers as the speakers were far too deep to fit in without spacing.

ill throw some pics up later... still need to make a custom sub box to fit in the side of my truck above the fender well to save space. This one I have in there now is a custom fit for my 240sx to fit in the dead spots in the sides of the hatch back.

  13. Drove around in the 12+ inches of snow on where im at. these goodyear duratracs are absolutely BEAST in the snow and ice. even on really icy slippery roads and very steep hills it has great stopping power. the house im staying at is on a very steep hill and only my pathy and a hummer can make it up so i got a tow strap yesterday to pull cars up. hahaha. so much fun! i might try and get these things studded as well and see how much better it is. they do follow ruts a bit as they are 12.5 wide but really they are very controllable even at speeds. great tires!!

  14. I hear horror stories from people about ICBC but I have personally had pretty good experiences. I have no idea what rates are in other places but I think I pay 75 per month for full coverage with comprehensive coverage with my pathfinder and for my 240sx its only 69 per month. I find that pretty reasonable personally. I believe adding comprehensive was only a couple dollars more per month with is enough for my peace of mind.

I had a minor accident at 60km an hour or so and ended up with a 45 000 $ cheque for some back pain I was having. Personally I have found the service to be great from them but I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

What do you pay for insurance where you guys are at for full coverage with comprehensive?
