My mistake, it was the passenger side one that I had replaced. For mine the manifold was in two pieces.... it was pretty obviously cracked, and fetching LOUD.

Nope, just a local guy that wanted some side work. He did good work though, and sure saved me the trouble. I just bought the manifold online for around 45-50 (rockauto) and had him install it.

My exhaust had been sooo loud inside the cabin because I have a leaky flex pipe on the passenger side and the noise is just coming straight up through from under the shifter boot. I dont have funds to replace it all right now, so I stuffed a ton of batting (aka pillow-guts) underneath my shifter boot, and now its pretty darn silent in the cab again! No more headaches on the highway! If anybody else wants to sound proof your vehicle, this is something that will definitely help!

I had my local mechanic do it for around 60-80 bucks after I bought the part. I probably could have done it myself, but I didnt want to- for the same reason you mentioned above.

What are your main priorities for your "commuter/snow bomber"? aka: what exactly are you looking for? High gas mileage, with ability to handle snow? Something that can haul all your skis and boards up to the slopes, and does so pretty comfortably? Enough room for you and your buddies to do some excursions and also get you from home to work? As a commuter, the pathfinder is roomy enough, and comfortable enough to make you happy. On gas though, its not so friendly. On handling snow, the pathfinder is as capable as the driver - meaning if youre smart and know how to drive in the snow, the pathfinder will get you anywhere you need to go, but if youre a dunce of a driver, it'll be as poor of a choice as handing you a set of keys to begin with. I am very happy with my choice to buy my pathfinder, and it has become exactly what I have wanted it to be: My daily driver and weekend getaway vehicle. Everyone wishes for their dollar to go further at the gas pump, and if that is you major concern, look elsewhere to find something with better mpg. But for a reliable SUV that is quite capable stock, and a great starting point if you want to build up from there, the pathfinder wont disappoint you. As for whether or not this is a wise choice to invest in THIS PARTICULAR pathfinder, I think the pricing is fair enough, especially with no rust. It will be a wise choice IF this is the kind of vehicle you want. Find that out first, then the second part of the decision becomes easy. The problems mentioned have been covered here on the forums, so you will be able to fix any issues you come across.

They were stacked one on top of the other in the rails, thats why they wouldnt just pop loose. They were so wedged in there!

sad day. In my local 4xgroup we have the "Pink Tow Hook Of Shame" that you have to keep on your vehicle if you had to call in someone from the group for a rescue when you get stuck. It stays on you until the next guy gets stuck and hollers SOS.

Glad it happened when you were going a pretty slow speed though!

I got the 16s with the 3.75 BS for mine. I found tires that were cheaper with a 16" than the same tire with a 15" so I opted to just save the money. Price-wise, they were the same price when I ordered them (1 1/2 years ago).

I know the hood is different than the post-facelift pathys, is it pretty different than the 96-99s too?

Was looking under the hood and found that the PO had used some electrical tape to conceal a ginormous tear in the rubber elbow leading from the air intake to the throttle body. This has left a big gap there for all kinds of junk to get in.. Well, they didnt have any at my local store, so I'll be ordering a new one, until then I used real tape (gorilla tape) to wrap it up good and snugged it up tight till I can get a replacement. While it was off I cleaned my disgustingly filthy throttle body of all the grime that had built up from the gaping hole in the tubing.

Bringing this up to see if this may be an option for the pre-face lift R50s. I have a custom front bumper, and would be interested in just swapping out the headlights/corners and maybe the grille in between them. (I mostly just want the Qx4 Headlights but they wont work with my current grille) How much work would that be? Simply going to the JY and finding some front end parts and bolting them on? or would this be a whole day of relocating support brackets..... anybody ever done this before?

Somewhat off-topic... but is there a "best" way to wash? PS. I'm throwing the P1105 code too, found one vacuum hose was loose, snugged it back on and hope that helps...

Great setup you've got there! I really like the look of it, and will probably copy that. Mine's up pretty high right now, doesn't look BAD... but not near as clean as the way you've pulled it off on yours.
