  1. Have a Magnafine in now but will replace at 1k flush.
  2. First day getting my patchy back, tranny feels nice and tight now. No slop, chugs or clunks that were there before. Should be good for another 200k miles. Have to try out 4wd to make sure that's all good still. Shop said to take it easy for a while.
  3. About 3,000 words. I get it back tomorrow or Wed. Some significant planetary gear damage, I'll try to post pictures of the CARnage.
  4. Nice, good work, very worthwhile project.
  5. Think the tranny was failing before I put the cooler on. Tranny fluid is fine, nice and pinkish, doesn't smell burnt. Truck has 212k, pretty sure it's original transmission. Been driving it hard lately.
  6. That's what happened, shifting to reverse was like going to neutral, nada. Any ideas how much I'm looking at for this? 1998 4x4 AT.
  7. Son of a beech. Been hearing odd sounds from the tranny, usually at low speeds, forward or reverse. Today... Clunk and WTF no reverse. Pushed it back, drove it to the shop, can't wait for the good news tomorrow.
  8. Just like this but painted black and on a pathfinder,
  9. New Hella horns to replace rusty, sissy stock horns. Changed a few more interior lights to LED.
  10. Spray painted over the Yakima logo on my roof rack....they aren't paying me.
  11. I'll be damned, past 3 years always thought I was in 4Lo when I was in 4Hi. Got to go out and climb some trees with my truck now.
  12. Followed this guide - http://forums.nicoclub.com/topic563777.html
  13. I just put in LEDs for the instrument cluster, map, dome and upper rear brake lights. Took a total of 30 min and 15 of that was swapping polarity and bending in the contacts for a better connection on the dash lights. superbrightleds.com had them 3 days after ordering. Very worthwhile project.
  14. Looks like 18mpg, I'll take it. Without the MTs I'd be at 20. Definitely has more low end power too now. Keep thinking it has stalled, without the mechanical fan it is super quiet.
  15. My '98 does it when cold from 1st to 2nd. Kind of a delay then engage. 210k miles, 2nd owner so I'm not sure if original tranny. I keep the fluids changed and put a Magnifine filter and BM cooler in, going to drive it until it falls out.
  16. So I just installed my e-fan yesterday, new tank of gas and a oil change. Well see what the MPGs look like with 32" MT tires, manual hubs, Magnaflow exhaust and e-fan this week. Usually do about 200mi per week, 150 of those freeway.
  17. My '98 makes it up, over and through stuff I often don't think it can do. If it just had some more power it would be unstoppable.
  18. Manual hubs and new exhaust made the biggest difference for me...and at the risk of getting flamed, I swear by Tufoil additive, makes my VG33 run so smooth and quiet I sometimes think it shut off when idling. Maybe a minor mileage benefit but definitely makes the engine smoother, quieter and a few degrees cooler too.
  19. Put 400+ miles on the new exhaust this weekend, easily gained 2 mpg. More low end power. Sounds way mo betta. Win-win-win. Don't think, do!
  20. Your seatbelt doesn't retract and you've given up trying to fix it.
  21. It does drone a bit but the 32" MTs mask it quite well at freeway speeds. . Seriously the HP gains are so worth it.
  22. It does sound nice. Think it released some HP gains that I was expecting from the K&N but the skinny exhaust was choking it off. Check out Collins Performance in Mission Viejo, did a nice job on mine.
  23. So finally got this done. 2.25" stainless piping to a Magnaflow, dumping the resonator out back. Definitely feel a power bump and a nice change of tune. We'll see how the MPGs are on next fill-up. Cost $325 at local shop. Should have done it long ago.
