  1. You could visit phatg20.net and download one...there's a pinned thread at the top of the Garage forum with the link.
  2. Yes, and after you pull the trans and the torque converter, you can examine the input shaft of the trans at least and look into the TC's hole with a flashlight. For a TC internal failure, I don't think there's a way to tell aside from testing the transmission on a dyno(or finding shreds of metal inside the converter).
  3. I bet you $5 it'll just swap out.
  4. If the HB tranny is from a V6, you should be good to go. The torque converter may have stripped out somewhere and thus disconnected the engine from the tranny...no way to tell until you pull it.
  5. I wasn't yelling. Did you think I was? Go weigh your Pathfinder at a truck scale sometime, you'd be surprised.
  6. The speedo sending unit on 94-95's is electronic instead of mechanical, if that helps. I believe the parts swap right out, though.
  7. The speedo sending unit on 95's is electronic instead of mechanical...
  8. Your alternator has died. Have it checked/fixed before it leaves you stranded on the side of the road somewhere. No need to check ECU error codes or wiggle wires or check the e-brake... When the alternator dies, it always turns on both those lights, along with the A/T temp light if you have an auto.
  9. Every test or review I've seen says the same thing, just turn on the AC and drive. The difference is negligible.
  10. The best way to see what's making noise is to get under there with some good light and start moving the vehicle back and forth. Get a friend to help push the body while you watch things move. Do some bench presses on the underside and watch it bounce. Most broken parts are quite obvious and easy to find if you just get under there and look. That'd be a better place to start than just asking what it is/might be from a bunch of people scattered across the world...we can debate about what it might be all day long.

  12. Yeah, you do. No idea on wiring compatibility between the two, though.
  13. Check the MAF sensor wiring. Check the TPS wiring. Pull the MAF and make sure it didn't break when it was reinstalled. Run the ECU error codes again, if it's in safe mode it'll have a code stored for something.
  14. The answer is "no". The NAPS-Z engine will not bolt to the V6 transmission. None of the 4-cylinders will. Why on God's green earth would you want a 80 HP engine to move a 4200 lb Pathfinder? Ew...
  15. I'd get the heads checked and rebuilt. Brand new ones would be a waste IMHO unless the old ones are somehow damaged so badly they can't be fixed. Ported/polished heads won't do anything to your lower end, don't worry about it. The rings should be fine past 200K.
  16. In other words, no. You'll need the bolts and backing plates that go inside the body on the top hinge side. Apparently the lower plates are already installed on most Pathys. (They're spotwelded in)
  17. I think a more likely cause for your problem was something you touched before resetting the ECU...it fixed itself! heh
  18. Using any BJ spacers with cranked torsion bars will allow your CV's to overextend themselves at full droop, which is a bad thing. Eats up the insides of the CV cups and roller bearings. Been there, done that, went through three axles.
  19. Bottom line, 153 HP to move 4200 lbs don't cut the mustard. Use a 350 and have a smile on your face every time you mash the gas to the floor. By the way, if someone does want to swap in a 350, you can't just put the engine in and bolt a Nissan transmission to it, of course...
  20. Lightforce lights are really nice too. I like PIAAs 'cos of the styling and construction.
  21. I'd make sure the wiring is still plugged in OK first. If you're driving it around with the A/T temp light on and it really IS running hot, you're asking for it to suddenly die on you...and these are NOT cheap transmissions.
  22. What year, engine type and transmission model do you need? Sheesh.
  23. Would you resize those pics for us? That's a bit big.
