Glad I can help; I do beat the hell out of my SFD every now and then. It takes whatever I throw at it, and was well built.

So me and a friend decided to go out wheeling today and test out the pathy along with his new 4:10s and we had quite a bit of fun, I went to the exact same spot wherr I blew my hubs out before and made it throuh with 2 tries this time. Didn't have to use my winch once so it was a good day, the only damage was my buddy losing his tail light lence and driver side mirror and his fender flare. Just didn't get too many pics..... I will next time though.

So I bought a home made trailer the other day; the frame is I-beam and it is a dead axle with electric brakes; also I do not have to worry about replacing worn out leafs. I am going to be using it to travel from NH to TX and pull my pathy. It has 7k mobile home axles under it which are very heavy duty. I got new Class F tires for it and just ordered new inner and outer wheel bearing with new raises. It even has a plate on the front of the trailer to put a winch, even though my oathy has one I could use it to tow cars on. I am tackling the wheel bearings and raises this weekend, along with putting new tires on. It is not the prettiest trailer but it should do the job.

Did your pathfinder come with manual hubs? If not then you already have auto hubs. If you do have manual hubs you can just leave them locked if you do not want to get out and lock them. I find them better than auto hubs because unlocked they end up saving you money in the end by minimizing the wear on your front drivetrain and CV's along with give you better gas milage. Plus xterra or frontier hubs wouldn't fit because there CV axle spline count is different.

anything is possible if you don't mind the extensive modification.

Would my skid plate that I already bought off you bolt to it? And what about a mid skid plate for the SFD? I would want to get that link and be able to use my skid plate and maybe a mid skid plate that is solid with no door? Hit me up with some prices as I would want it made out of aluminum most likely. So I put my spare MM hub on today along with new wheel bearings both sides. Got on the phone with Smittybilt and have them mailing out a new controller for my winch, seems mine stopped working.

I stand corrected, they can be blown; but still a good inexpensive hub.

So today was the first day it has not rained up here, went outside to get a better look at the damage and noticed my exhaust hanging lower than usual so I crawled up underneath and saw my resonator has a huge dent in it from the rocks I suppose. Then I noticed that the J.A. missing link is bent, also noticed a dent in my lower control arm on the drivers side but not too noticeable. Then I was looking at my CV as I just went out and bought one and it seems to be intact and ok, but the MM manual hub on the driver side is completely blown and cracked which explains the loss of 4WD; and I bought new wheel bearings and a bearing packer instead of doing it by hand this time which I figured helped cause it fail. So it makes fixing it a lot easier not having to replace the CV.

I have MM hubs and have never really had a problem with them, I just have to use lock-tight with with the allen bolts that hold the face on and check them periodically; but I run Bias Ply 34x10.5x15 Swampers and they vibrate a little more than most tires....

eventually I will get lockers, I want a SAS then lock both front and rear.....

its a brand new cv..... only put it in about 5 months ago; I am just gonna replace it and step up my search on a waggy D44 for a SAS.

So I went out wheeling again this morning with some buddies on a trail I have only run about 2 other times and there are endless trails out there, I was doing a rock climb and got hung up and had to winch out then there was a hill climb with some stumps and I made it 3/4 the way up after the 3rd try. I just kept on the gas hoping it would crawl up the rest of the day and my CV on the drivers side snapped right at the joint, along with my wheel bearing started to make some noise on the way home so I need to take it apart and look inside. So looks like I will be taking it apart this coming week and fixing it.

Whats the final cost on them? And I would most likely get a custom Driveshaft made for only like $200....

a oil pan from a xterra 3.3 should fit.....

Devonianwalk - you are talking about re-centering the axle and in that case yes you would have to get new links and driveshaft made. DCGabel - in order to make it completely level you are going to have to take in account the sag the springs will have and buy some rubber coil spacers to put in to level it out.

Today was the first day I have tried to pull anyone but my own pathy with the new winch. My buddy was driving his 3/4 ton chevy and sucked in mud and blew his motor in the pit. I took a strap and put it around a tree with a D-ring and put a strap from my rear bumper to his rig and it pulled it out of the pit and 10 feet up a hill; I am very impressed with the winch and that my bumpers can take the abuse as well. I will have some pics up again soon but I don't know if there are any good ones as my buddies GF was taking them; hopefully there are some good ones. On a side note I peeled one of my light guards back while squeezing between two trees; so I need to take it off and bend it back to fit; the rocker guards once again saved me from body damage.
