  1. I also had an RX3 sedan, first with extend port 13B then later with bridge port 13B The R100 ended up off the road and chassised out for a drag car. It ran a best of 11.83 @ 115mph with the 13B bridgeport engine. It did run low 12s in street form. It was a wild car to drive and when we went cruising, had to be in 3rd gear as the idle was so rough. Ahh, them were the days! Have to post a pic of it sometime. Its in my facebook album > Nick Johnson Nick
  2. Well, we went shopping down to the big smoke saturday. My wife (Donna) nephew is having an engagement party this saturday night. Dress code - cocktail wear! I'm ok, I wear a penguin suit every day, so we went shopping for a pretty dress. Found a couple, settled on one. Slept in Sunday, made Donna eggs, bacon and fried potato for brekky. Did a roast home grown beef for dinner and Donna surprised me with chocolate bavrian (cut in the shape of a heart) topped with strawberries, blueberries, choc topping and strawberry liquer stuff and a Flake crushed on top...... It beat my roast! Had a spa with a drink sunday night. Pick up my car tomorrow hopefully. Oh, I got a 2.5in exhaust yesterday from the cats back. Needs a tune but goes better. It's got a weird note, something I am not used to. The last car I had with a note was Donna's VK Calais 5.0. The one before that, was my R100 Mazda street car with 9" rear and bridge port rotary engine. brup brup brup! It sounds like something is loose inside, but may just be the noise it makes. Anyone else done this? Nick
  3. Gee guys Haven't been around here for a few days or so. Been busy at work and tired when I get home. Although, I was building a mare crush last week for the mare to get impregnated in. (Dr Love the vet came around) and the umm stuff came from up your way guys. Heatherbrae. Is that near you guys?? Newcastle? It's a big horse stud up there. I wish I got as much money for my stuff as they do! I get a novated lease vehicle with my new job. Looking at this today. http://www.ftgholden.com.au/cars/view.asp?id=3347&car=Holden Commodore%2060th%20Anniv%20VE%20MY09 It's got heavy duty, fully adjustable Tein suspension. Height and damper adjustable front and rear from the shocker. It's a tad lower than std and quite a firm ride. It has a lot of adjustment from soft to race! Pics if and when I get it. It was also the 1st anniversary of the big bushfires down here yesterday. We went to a memorial service down our way in the morning which was nice. A helicopter flew by during the service and I have never seen so many people scaredly look into the sky at once. The last one most of them saw was Elvis dumping water on their fire ravished properties.. Nick
  4. Yeah! Oh, and we went bowling tonight..... Courtesy Wii.... Might play tennis tomorrow night. Nick
  5. Hmmm, bit of rain down here today Matt after 37C earlier today. It's just stopped. 27C tomorrow for my first day back at work. I changed the front and rear brake rotors on my sister in laws VR Commodore today. I also spent the weekend designing and fabricating a mare crush. A what?? My wife has borrowed a horse to breed a foal from. The 'stuff' comes down from NSW frozen and the crush is to hold the mare still whilst the Vet does his thing with the 'stuff'.... It's lso to hold her still while she has regular scans and tests. I have done the wood stuff, just gotta do the steel gates. Pics to come. I bought a new liner for my mig yesterday but it's the wrong one. I could have borrowed one from a neighbor but it was 37C down here today.... I also changed back to my road tyres on the Pathy ready for the 155km daily round trip to work, before getting a new car this week or next week, courtesy of the new job. I plan to get a 2yr old Commodore SV6, but need to find one with a tow bar and LPG. My wife's birthday next week and since I have a job now, bought her a Wii with Wii Fit and Wii Sports. I just connected it to the internet and it's doing an update. Oh, we gave her the Wii a bit early. Nick
  6. Hey Dave if you haven't already, try to get a clear lens filter for each of your lenses to protect your lenes. Hope that makes sense. They just screw on to the front of the lens and a $20 filter gets scratched, not a $$$ lens. Nice camera. Nick
  7. Good news boys and girls!! I got a job back at NEC finally after 9 months. Start this Monday. I'm pumped! Nick
  8. Um, don't know. Not sure if I felt better before or after the 2nd interview. I guess I will find out Wednesday this week. Waiting...... SXC rubber Dave! Nick PS. Happy Australia Day for tomorrow everyone. Just going to a friends place down the road for a swim, bbq and some lamb! Oh and some beer too. Lovely day here today. Here's some pics I took today. My wife with her new horse in our riding arena View from our backyard Spa. I changed the water today, clean ey?

    this hurt

For all you overseas people, here in AUS we just say "BUGGER" ! Bad luck Dan. That's one noise that wont dissappear by turning up the radio! Nick
  12. That's another topic in itself..... Nick
  13. Hey Cyril Nah, I really want to do them myself, thanks for the offer though! Nick
  14. Yep. Wintery down here today. Daughter at Pony Club. Nick
  15. Are you looking for more work Cyril?? Nick
  16. I am just throwing a few things to help. Plug leads or ignition coil? It does sound like a missing spark problem, as it seems to happen under acceleration. Like when you wash the engine and get some moisture under the dist cap. You have eliminated the Cap and rotor button. I guess you can see the $$ starting to mount up, but will be a well tuned up car once fixed. Keep us updated on your progress. Nick
  17. Hey Dan Welcome to the forum. Heaps of useful info round here for all to share. Nick
  18. Nice truck, how do the CVs go witht hat much lift? I would tip you would wear out CV boots quickly if you dont have free wheel hubs. Looks good though. Nick
  19. Grimgreg Is it possible that you could put a sock or blanket over it to keep it warmer in the winter and remove it in summer? Or with the use of a high pressure tap or valve, you could pass it through the OEM cooler in the radiator in winter and through a front mounted external cooler and the radiator in the summer? I have a lot of stone chips under my Pathy and can't imagine to think what your trans cooler could go through if mounted under there. I am not sure how much off roading you do though which would affect that. You didn't mention that if it got too warm in summer, just too cool in winter. In OZ I often drive and tow a horse trailer up and down hills in 90 - 100F heat with no overheating or performance issue from the trans. Please post pics and report if you do put it under there somewhere. Nick
  20. Nope not yet Dave It's bloody hot outside though, I know that much! Too hot to stay outside for too long at all. Conditions are supposed to get worse as the day goes on with high winds predicted later this afternoon. I am 100km south east of Melbourne. Nick
  21. Well that got a few replies and also big extremes in temperatures. Update for today. 43C in Melbourne! That's 109F.... They have issued a Catastrophic Fire Danger warning today for some areas. Nick
