  1. building a snorkel was pretty easy. cost me about 35 bucks for materials at lowe's. thanks by the way chris for your ecu relocation thread the last time you posted it, that's how i did mine. took a good part of the day doing the snorkel but not to bad. i'm happy with the results. now i just have to waterproof things under the hood if i ever get a weekend to work on it.
  2. nice job with the paint. great price too.
  3. if i can find my old pic. of my 91xe it had 31's on 15x10 wheels with no lift. it shows how much clearance between the tires and the fender's. i don't know what you drive but if you launch into the air it will hit your fenders and the outcome would not be good. i posted it when i first joined but i have to look in my computer files to find it or scan it from the picture i have hanging on the wall. ***edit****scanned pic. no lift and 31's.
  4. yes the lift can be accomplished on a saturday, shouldn't take to long unless something goes wrong.
  5. i welded 2 tabs onto my yakima cross bar and mounted two 6"x9" lights. i'll get pics later.
  6. sounds to me like slick is the only one at u-haul that knows what the hell their doing. i work with a couple of guys that used to work at u-haul and they have some interesting stories of u-haul mishaps.
  7. when cranking up the torsion bars watch to make sure you don't strip out the adjuster bolts like i did. yes both of them stripped.
  8. where's the video of that one?? holy crap that's funny.
  9. looks pretty nice. now go get some video of you going through the mud like you did in your pathfinder...
  10. so do all firestone shops offer the lifetime alignment deal???
  11. if it breaks down we have a 1-800 number in the cab that is our s.o.s number. they are the call center that will find someone in the area closest to you to either fix it or get another truck for you. swapping loads can be done also if need be. we had a customer break down once and we had it towed in and we ended up swapping loads with them. funny thing about it was he had 2 jet skis in the back of the truck along with his other stuff.
  12. to bad he didn't get video of that. roflmao.
  13. technically "no" you can't tow a u-haul trailer behind a penske truck but people do it. i've seen people do it. as long as the ball size is the same and the wiring is the same it will work. diesel is cheaper than gas at the present time at least here in washington.
  14. don't worry i have to fill up today or tomorrow. so i will be assuming the position.
  15. got this in a e-mail from the wife.
  16. i'm a mechanic so i don't know the rental side of it but i can find out and let you know. iirc we are pretty comparable to ryder and u-haul.
  17. Penske is another rental place you can look at. i work for the one here in washington but we are nation wide. we have car trailers also. just my .02.
  18. even a day trip to evans creek would be cool. i no longer have a tent due to buying a 30ft travel trailer so the camping thing is out, but could do a day trip. sounds like it would be a blast. i'm sure my son would love to go too. count us in if it happens.
  19. well gas prices suck to say the least. as far as new car's well yeah i bought a 06 titan at the beginning of 06 it had 30 miles when i left dealership. it now has 10,995 miles. i can't afford to drive it with gas prices the way they are. hence i get to drive the pathfinder for now. prices around here in des moines vary. i paid 3.37 a gallon the other day.
  20. i'd be down for CO, AZ, or UT. i get 3 weeks paid vacation next year. August 08 sounds good to me. Me-Serious Kids-Very Serious wife-Not so Serious edit/wife and daughter out/son and i are a go. just needs to happen now.
  21. why not just put a 4.3 v-6 out of a s-10 in. perhaps there won't be as many clearance issues. that's what i'm planning when my engine goes. just my .02.
  22. yeah i definately am ready to go again. good luck on the s.a.s spolar.
  23. when i was a kid my family lived up in fairbanks, anchorage, and eagle river. i have always loved alaska. it is a truly beautiful place. except for the swarms of mosquitoes.
  24. i dunno maybe putting her face through a windshield might make her better looking. she should sue her parents for making her look like that. the nasty little troll.
