I had my new rear bumper installed on my 2003 R-50 and just had to tell some one. Hopefully, some of you will approve of it.

I called Warn today to ask about the Nissan hubs, part number 29091, and specifically asked if they would fit a 2003 Pathfinder. After looking thru their info I was told they will fit as every thing is the same. They just don't list newer than 2001 for now. I will be ordering set Monday.

I would highly suggest you "DO NOT FLUSH" the transmission. The only way to properly change it out is to drop the pan, clean the filter and replace the oil. A flush will not clean any debris nor will it get the fluid in the torque converter. It is a slight pain but doing a proper cleaning/draining/replacing every 35,000 miles will keep the tranny running and working for a very long time.

Having experienced the same problem I traced the fuses down. There is one under the dash, behind the pull down drawer on the left lower side, and one under the hood inside the passenger side fuse box.
-
I notice that they all start out looking good. Mine looks like it was hanging on the side of a Hummer in Beirut. But, that beats my transfer case looking the same.
-
Oops, my bad. You wanted skid plates. A/C makes them. Do a google search for 4x4parts.com and you can see them. I have their skid plates on my 2003 Pathfinder and am very happy with them. Made of 3/8" steel.
-
Rocky Roads makes them. There is an example listed on Ebay right now. Do a search for "nissan rock sliders" and you will get the info. Selling for $265.00

I know I asked this before and apologise for a duplicate issue but, I could not find the dang info. I have a 2003 Pathy and want to swap gears. I am looking for the Limited slip in a 4:63. I figure that Nissan uses that same drive train in the Frontier and Xterra so I need to know how old of a rig can I go for to get third members that will just swap out with no mod's.
-
Well, crap! That sucks. It figures but, it still sucks.
-
Hey Xplorx4, is your bumper guy ready to make more? I got the bucks and am ready to go.
-
Gotta add my 2 cents here also. Are these bumpers available? I have the cash but can't seem to find a bumper for my 2003 R-50. My stock bumper is trashed and I am ready to buy.
-
I would change out all the fluids............transmission, both diff's, transfer case, radiator etc. Most likely needs a full tune-up if you haven't done that.
-
What is the life span on these sensors? I just turned 50,000 on my 2003. Should I start looking for a new sensor?
-
Ok, so I am thinking "what can I do to help this rig breath better and maybe improve the MPG"? Well, I hear all about the K&N filter system and have some buddies that think that is the only way to go. But, good grief, it costs $300 for a lousy air filter and a chunk of pipe. No problem grasshopper. You're at Pep Boys. I picked out an adapter for the cool air filters and buy what looks to be a decent air filter. The cone style like K&N. It has got to be better than the 1"x2" little hole my OEM filter is sucking air through. What the heck, I buy the stuff and exchange my clunky OEM system for the new sleek, wazoo we guarantee all kinds of junk system. you can see a photo under "what more can I do to my R-50" on page 3 of the forum lists.

drop in filter vs cold air intake vs stock air box
RWC5S2 replied to Gripenfelter's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Ya think? I can get 15 or just better on the road but in town sucks the big one. I really lost the mpg with the 33's I put on. Plus, the KMA front bumper is kinda heavy. Oh well, at least it ain't a grocery getter any more. -
drop in filter vs cold air intake vs stock air box

I went to Pep-Boys and bought a K&N look-a-like cone filter plus the 3" adapter plate, pulled the OEM air filter and box from my 2003 Pathfinder and put the look-a-like filter in. I have gone thru 3 tanks of gas since then and achieved a whopping 1.2mpg increase. Not too significant but, it beats the heck out of only 13mpg. -
Tyler, first, and most important, I never meant to compare you to TJM. I apoligise profusely if my comment seemed that way. I meant that I hoped the company you were dealing with was not like TJM........promise to do something and then not follow through. I guess my frustration with no decent after market R-50 items showed. I got too excited over the possibility of being able to raise the front of my Pathfinder so easily. As to the 3/4" spacer, I can live with that. Better for the C/V's any way.
-
I did not mean to indicate any thing negative about Tyler. I was just expressing my hope that all goes well, which is not always the outcome with R-50 products. He has no control over what other folks do or don't end up doing.
-
Hey, tmorgan, have you heard any thing on the spacers yet? Hope they don't bail on you like tjm did on bumpers.

My 03 Pathfinder has the cubby hole but I did not put the CB there fearing the speaker would be too muffled to hear well. How is the sound with that mount?
-
I would use the 10 or 12 awg wire. Larger wire means less resistance and more current. That is normally a good thing. The 10 is probably over kill.
-
If you have the spiffy 17" rims from the factory with no offset that would explain the tire fit problem. Need an offset to fit the bigger tire.
-
I agree that the best possible way to wire the radio is to just run the wires right to the battery. I used to do that but have gotten old and lazy and tired of trying to find a hole to run the dang wires through the fire wall, not to mention the total lack of room in the engine compartment. That way will avoid all the interference that can come from other sources. I have the radio permantly mounted but chose the cig lighter approach as I only use it when off-road or away from the city area. You get tired of nothing but jerks telling the world to "F" off on every channel. CB's are not much use in big cities anyway as they are line of sight transmit and receive and big buildings kill the performance.
-
Oops, I forgot. You can run the 31" tires if you trim the excess plastic inside the front wheel wells. You can almost cut off the useless stuff with a good sharp knife. It is easy to see what to cut when you have some one turn the tires back and forth. It is no big deal to do. You will rub if you really stuff the tires but it only is the tire rubbiing on plastic, nothing to worry about.

4hweelparts.com has lots of stuff you might be interested in. They have tons of rims and such. I do not think they are the best place to buy stuff but you can see things that are available. We are kind of limited for after market off-road goodies for the newer Pathfinders, 99.5-2004.
