  1. A ver simple way to wire your CB is just get a 12 volt cigarette lighter adapter plug for $5.00 at Radio Shack. They have a nice one where all you have to do is depress a small button and push the wire in. It is marked + and -....red is pos and blk is neg. You can then plug it into a lighter or 12 volt power port that most all vehicles have several of now days. That way the wires can be tucked down between the seat and console when not in use. Like the others said, get a good antenna and make sure it is tuned. I have a magnetic roof mount that is easy to put behind the seat when not in use but works great when I need it.
  2. Unless you are in love with the 17" rims you would most likely be better off buying 15" rims and new 31" tires. 17" tires are so much more money it is unreal.
  3. I have the KMA front bumper so that is not in the picture. I really would like to know who made the rear bumper on your rig. That, I could use right now.
  4. Just thought I would check and see how the spacer manufacturing was going. Don't want to be a bother but the prospect of actually obtaining a 1" spacer is just too exciting for this old fart.
  5. I am quite happy with the front bumper from KMA that I recently put on my 2003 R-50. I see that other folks here are not so thrilled with them but, mine is fine with no problems at all.
  6. Feel free to consider me or the first proto type.............might as well be greedy.
  7. Thanks for the update. Just let me know when to send the money, how much and where. Looking forward to raising the front a little.
  8. Hey tmorgan. I should have clarified the question. Are the units the same for the Pathfinder, Xterra and Frontier?
  9. I have a 2003 Pathfinder with the 4:36-1 rear end gearing. I would like to change them to the 4:63's with limited slip. Will any of the pre 99.5 rear ends fit the new stuff? I was hoping I could just swap the 3rd members and live happily ever after. Also, will the front diff's intger change?
  10. I did the AC lift on my 03 R-50 and love it. Might have gone with the 4.5" if it had been available a year ago but, oh well. I have had no problems with the CV's or any thing else. It actually raised the rig closer to 2.5" or more. I am running BFG 33's and did have to trim all the excess plastic from inside the wheel wells as well as pull the mud flaps. Do the AC, you will like it.
  11. Ok, so I am thinking "what can I do to help this rig breath better and maybe improve the MPG"? Well, I hear all about the K&N filter system and have some buddies that think that is the only way to go. But, good grief, it costs $300 for a lousy air filter and a chunk of pipe. No problem grasshopper. You're at Pep Boys. I picked out an adapter for the cool air filters and buy what looks to be a decent air filter. The cone style like K&N. It has got to be better than the 1"x2" little hole my OEM filter is sucking air through. What the heck, I buy the stuff and exchange my clunky OEM system for the new sleek, wazoo we guarantee all kinds of junk system.
  12. That is one sweet bumper set-up. I would be very, very interested in what the price would be if a run was made up.
  13. Well, I finally the axel code on the firewall plate. I have the HG43 which explains why I now feel like they are closer to a 3.50 with the 33" tires. At least I know what to look for in the bone yard.
  14. tmorgan, I am in So. Calif. Regarding the gears, they are stock and I do not know the ration. I have been trying to find out. The rear dif has a white spot so I know it is not limited slip, per other threads on this site. Re; the exhaust, I still have the OEM spare tire hanging there, been to lazy to remove it but will do so to enhance the exhaust.
  15. So, Tmorgan, I just need to add a amber bulb to the clear corner lens. Sounds like a plan to me. How do you want to proceed?
  16. Good grief. Am I that senile now? Pretty scary.
  17. Really? That seems to be a good idea. I haven't checked them, is it hard to change? Hopefully just a lens change?
  18. What kind of lift did you do? I did the AC lift on my 2003 and the skids went in fine. Well, with some help to lift the dang thing. Geez, that center plate is a heavy bugger. Hmm, did you go with the humongous Prado lift?
  19. Hmm, now that is a great idea. Thanks much.
  20. Well, not having much of an option, I bought the A/C skids and have had no problems at all. They have taken some monster hits and done exactly what they were supposed to do, protect my drive train. Yeah, it took longer than advertised but, they still do a hell of a job. Wish we had more options on after market goodies. Did you get the plate installed yet?
  21. The center skid mounts with the flange facing up and in the rear. The rear skid bolts up to the flange, should you add one later. You have the baffle (for lack of a better term) units on your cross member. Remove those(they have a rubber piece inside) and you will see the bolt holes in the frame for the skid. They are the "U" shaped metal items seen on the photo. The front of the skid should line up with holes in the frame rail that have welded nuts in place. They on the cross member. You might have to jiggle it around a bit to line up the holes but it is not to bad.
  22. My humble apologies to the person who PM'ed me as I accidently lost it. Another example of senile old farts and computers. At least i read it first. The new version of the KMA bumper bolts to the frame via the 3 existing holes. You do have to remove that odd tube thing and I used a sawzall to trim the flange down. The bumper bolts up with 3 grade 8 x 1/2" bolts, nuts and lock washers. It is quite strong and I used it today to pull a Cherokee out of a bad spot. No problems at all. It is strong. As to the Flowmaster question, thanks for the info on the other option. I will most likely go that way and add a cold air intake. Another diatribe regarding the bumper. I also managed to stuff it into the ground today on a very steep banked wash-out. The approach angle was hideous. The bumper plowed right on through and only suffered a few scrapes in the paint. A can of Rust-0-leum and I was good to go. Thanks again to all for the recommendations on how to best part with my money and improve the Pathy.
  23. My R-50 has dual exhaust from the engine but it joins into a single exhaust pipe. What do you suggest to make it more better and do I have to add another cat converter. The People's Republic of California is quite unreasonable about adding to the dreaded Greenhouse Gas problems. Actually, they are quite unreasonable about most every thing. Would a Flowmaster system do any good?
  24. Hmmm, the bumpers do look different. Might be due to the top being covered plus I did not get any optional lighting. They also cut out openings to allow for better air flow to the radiator along with the top cutouts to access the inside for a winch or receiver. On the 99.5 and newer the mounting brackets are are already drilled out for the 3 factory holes in the frame so there is no drilling of the 3rd hole. Nice to know that other folks have used the Wally World lights. I may try a larger wattage bulb as mentioned. So many good ideas here. Guess I better start saving my nickels and dimes.
