  1. We have rust issues in SouthEast WI since they use 10 pounds of salt per foot on the roads at first sign of snow. A frame like yours being clean would last maybe 5 years unless you rustproof it. washing is hard when it is 10 below for a few weeks. so POR-15 (or whatever; not looking for that arguement today) then the rubberized undercoating is my plan (As I just got a Cali Pathy that is hardly rusty myself) but my old 95 was a good frame at first. Salt is the Devil!
  2. That my friend sounds very interesting! Thanks for the info guys Mike
  3. WOW JB Weld & paint Hoohaa You can weld for me anytime!
  4. Hey Greg does an E-fan make a big difference? After 200K I think my fan clutch is tired. I just removed my tire carrier to lighten the load. But I have a Camry for a daily driver, saves me mega$ since I drive 90+ miles a day; or use methane Was in Tennessee (Kentennessee as I call it) Walmart had a place "stable" to tie up your horse when you go shopping?! Grass powered!
  5. Thanks 88, I already went thru the project pathfinder link and if I had the extra $ I would do it. I think the machine shops around Milwaukee would rape me for the work. I can do lifts, weld a bit but no machining experience (Math "sklills" ) As I'm an IT guy with alot of tools in his garage, boy is due 7/7/07 so I dumped my 91 TTZ, bike, sled. Held firm on the Pathies as my toy(s) to keep, so I'll be around here a bit more; not asking to many more questions. I'm going to spend some time on steering and suspension for a while then see where I want to go. Thanks again! Mike
  6. I will be ready for that one for sure, now that I have a daily driver I can take my time on the truck. Cliffs looks interesting also Thanks for the info, also joined MXO. Mike
  7. Oh yeah... If I'm not werkin' on the truck a good cat fight is always worthy
  8. Sorry, I read about the top-end swap a while ago and thought there was a thread about the swap with links; I just couldn't find it in search. So I guess the question is anyone have any descent linkies to the info I will need to complete my journey? Thanks. Mike
  9. I swear either I can't search properly or I can't search properly! I am happy to report I have a spare pathy with a broken frame, so I purchased one from California which runs fine, no WI salt in this frame (yet). (Both mine are 95's 1 auto 1 manual) But I have an empty spot in the garage for an engine or 2 as in maybe a 3.3 supercharged out of an X-terra and my spare engine from the old pathy for some combining action. (or even a reg 3.3 if supercharged is an issue. Just need a point in the right direction as I have time and a bit of money for the project. As I said I did try search but I'm a bit slow so don't whoop me 2 bad Thanks in advance. Mike
  10. Yep I'm 37 and the "new" XE seats were a pain. and swapped the back seats out to get the arm rests again, Definately a big difference, but I got this XE out of Cali so at least the frame is happy and not heavily salted like my old one.
  11. Bought a "new" finder with a clean frame, but damn was my back hurting. swapped seats and the world is good once again (commute 75 miles/day) Gas hurts enough! the comfortable ones have the hole in the headrest, lumbar support, and are more formed to the back & have the web pockets on the back. Never would have guessed how different the 2 seats are, when at a glance they are close to the same! Thought it was age kicking my butt!
  12. Mine worked up until the Rancho RS-9000's went in a couple months ago, could definately tell the difference between the 2 settings at highway speed.
  13. Just seeing if anyone is in or around WI, I'm in Milwaukee but go to Black River Falls and Eagle River often. :coffee!:
  14. Mac Monkeys are 2 funny! Worst part of Dell's is the preload of crap. I build my own personal machines; but order Dell's for work machines. Not bad pricing, as my boss is a cheap Bass Turd; so I get the cheap Dell Dimensions, and actually haven't had any issues hardware wise. Beats the crap out of Gateway!, now those were, are supa Crap (as is the Mac) can't really say what I feel about Mac's as Jim & 88 would beat me for saying bad "werds" again. E-machines at Best Buy aren't as crappy as they were. (extended Warranty?!) smack the Mother Board with a taser every couple years to get a free upgrade(extended Wrrty) Just CHEAP solutions that work for me at work where $500 is to much for a server! Haven't had to reload the 10 Dells or 4 e-machines yet (knock on wood!)

    LSD Swap?

Never had to look at it as it always worked without any issues, my buddie changes my fluids as he has a "pit" in his garage. I was raised in a UAW family so I was "learned" on ford n' chevy. When I bought my first Nissan (71 240Z) I was almost disowned. I got as far as the brakes and noticed the drums, been stuck in Algona, Iowa for 2 weeks doing server upgrades so I couldn't physically look at anything, when I get home I will have at least 4 days of time off to work on the swap. So if I asked the questions now I can just get it done when I escape hell here in Iowa. Thanks Again! Mike

    LSD Swap?

Do I have to pull covers and count teeth or are their "model" #'s to tell me what the gear ratio is? It is definately wierd getting in without the lift! Thanks again guys (& gal)
  19. Welcome back Jim, Hope everything goes well for you! as I'm sure it will. Glad to have you back!

    LSD Swap?

THANKS! You guys ROCK, I will be swapping the rear axle and the master cylinder then. Again Thanks! I will be having some spare parts soon (In WI) My 95 manual's frame is 2 far gone for me to repair, so I bought the 95 auto. Love my Nissans! (Just sold my 91 Z TT ) no more breaking the sound barrier for me! It was the Pathy or the Z!

    LSD Swap?

I just bought a 95 XE automatic, as my 95 manual trannie frame broke. I had to get to work and back, no time to disassemble and weld (above rear axle by gas tank) Question is my XE has drum rears, SE has disc: is it easier to swap out the entire axle as the drum style has a thrust block I believe from previous reading. Both are LSD, I have to put my rancho 9000's & 4" springs in back anyways. more than likely replace a few more parts while I am in there to keep her driving strait. Just making sure I am not creating more work for myself. I am going to POR-15 this frame as it is from a place where road salt didn't live!!! -bounce- MV
