Well, I only have about a 1 1/2 foot lead. I dont really want to run it all the way inside. I did find a switched source on top of the engine hand my harness reaches. Im going to try ther ena see what happens. Im sitll looking for other options if this doesnt work.

Anyone who has hooked up a electric fan controller on your rig....... Where did you get the switched power source from??? Everything else is hooked up, just need that info. Location, wire, connector, any extra info would be appreciated!

Tahts actually part of the plan when we give him back! See the NW section...

Ask Red, he can send it to ya!

Well, just got done with a good inspection of MrJim. For the most part, he is in pretty good shape. I havet checked brakes and powertrain fluids yet, but probably later this week. Red should be here in a few with some stuff he got at the wrecking yard. Ive got a small list of stuff that he needs and few that he could use, but not necessary. I will post up that list in a little while. Others may be contacted by me or Red about some other stuff. I will keep everyone updated as we move along. Derek

I wanted mine under the radio also, but there was no way I could get the correct angle. Maybe the different in stereos or something. Looks good Simon!

I was thinking a easy run like Tahuya, so guys with stock rigs can come out also. Plus, This will have to get thrown together pretty quick. But I like the name!

Just have her look at the story that Jim wrote on thier website. It was almost that the top of local news stories with 22 comments last night. Would be a good story, especially when we give it back to him.

Nissan Pathfinder $1.85 million lawsuit verdict will stand

Forget it. We should all travel around in protective bubbles and not touch anything. Life should be a bland boring ride with anitbactrial hand sanitizer at our hips. Not coming in contact with anyone or anything would fix everything. Anyone know who won the Firestone tire/Ford explorer problem? -
Link to donation thread added on youtube comments.

I will be gining his truck a good inspection ove the next couple of days. I will post up anything I find that we may need. some things are in the works that are staying hush-hush for now. Nothing big, just details......

Mods can move it wherever they want. Posted the link in the Donation and Recue thread.

Hey! Im not homeless! Bald maybe, but not homeless!!! The front is down because we had to let all of the air out of the front tires to secure the truck. He also has air shocks in the rear that had to be filled up completely. Some adjustment in the front may be necessary yet

Ok everyone, here it is. It was a long day for Scott(RedPath88), me and my friend Shane, but well worth it. It was great meeting Jim and his daughter. He seemed really excited to be getting it back. Heck, maybe even a little overwhelmed. Watch the vid and listen closely!!! Go make a comment on youtube after watching it!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UviOGK-xXiA We will be putting his rig back to operational status over the next couple of weeks and will make the reunion hopefully in a month or so. Some came with them, other didnt. There is details on how to install it, in the accessorie catolog.

Well this sheds a little light on the subject. Its possible(Possible, dont get carried away) that the shop you took it to may have done something wrong. Maybe they put the wrong refridgerant in the system. Maybe they didnt put enough oil in the system after evacuating and recharging, and burned up the compressor. Man, its hard to tell you what to do. I would (when youhave the dough) take it to a reputable shop that has a A/C machine that can detect what refridgerant is in the system before anything else is done. On the cheap, you could go to the A/C relay and jump the terminals and send power to the compressor and see if you start blowing cold. The bad smell indicates to me something may have leaked, possilby in the case, but also from the engine bay. Its free to poke around under the hood and see if anythings stands out as a leak or a break.
-
When is the last time you changed the oil? How many miles you got on it? Did you go to the dealer and what did you find out?
-
Ive installed a few of them. Its not hard, and when you drop the glovebox out of the way, you can see where you need to cut. Just have a nice and sharp Exacto knife on hand. Be careful!!!

where does your temp gauge sit
5523Pathfinder replied to ac92pathfinder's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Mine typically reads a little lower than half. It goes up on the hotter days, but where it sits is fairly normal. You might want to check your coolant/water mix. Too much or little either way could make it look like your gauge is off. -
im getiing around 208 and 215 miles

Well, there you go. You had diesel put in it? How much? Did you get it all out. I would say our rigs are a bit sensitive to being out-of-tune. With needing a tune up and a timing belt, that could be your mileage issue. As well as the leaking manifold. I would put a fuel system cleaner and drier in your tank now and maybe one after you tune it up. You do not want diesel fuel lurking around. -

What plugs you running? What oil do you use? Is the fan clutch in decent shape? What tire pressure do you use? Have you changed any other fluids lately? Brakes are functioning normally? What is your driving style like? Carry extra stuff around that you dont need? There are many things that can add to or take away from fuel mileage. My mielage drops in the winter running more accesories (heater, stereo, lights, ect). In the summer, my mielage increases. For the most part, I constatly run between 18-20mpg. Do some poking around on your rig and answer some of those questions. -
Yeah, to be enviormentaly friendly, you need to take it to a certified shop. YOu dont necessarily have to take it to the dealer, just someone who knows what they are doing. R134a is still damaging to the enviroment ans should be contained properly. All this stuff takes equipment, and isnt always cheap. Yep, search locally. I know quick lube places sometimes will have a certified A/C tech there. There are some shops that only do A/C work. As the old commericals went...."let your fingers do the walking!"
-
So its been converted to R134a? The sytem still operates basicly the same. Just at different pressures. Check the lines and make sure nothing is unplugged or damaged. I say start with having the system recoverd to see exactly how much refridgerant is inside. IF its low, then you have a leak somewhere or the wrong amount was installed. Evacuating the system will tell you if the system is sealed. If not, you have a leak. If all ok, recharge with the correct amount.
-
Here is what I would do. Start your truck and turn on the A/C, let it cycle and start feeling the different hoses and lines for tempurature change. coming out the the evap, it shoudl be fairly cold all the way to the compressor. From the compressor, it should warm up, be shoudl have a temp drop on the other side of the condensor. Ive never heard of a overpressure valve. The is a pressure sensor that works if too much pressure detected or too little pressure. If you had the system serviced, find out how much refridgerant was put in. Also take a look at your sight glass on the fluid tank and see if there are any bubbles. If you notice a excessive amout of dirt collecting around any fittings, you may have a leak.
