Yeah I have the VQ35... The dealer has already fixed the sensor, rotated, balanced and aligned my tires. All this to the tune of 300 flat. This because I argued with the service manager that there was no way it took 90 minutes to change the sensor. Original was 345.. Something is something I guess. I called the original dealer to find out the service history. Since purchased, they have changed 3 Oxygen Sensors, the radio TWiCE and a couple of ther miscellanous things. So hopefully, I should be good. Knocking on wood...

I have the service manual... Not the haynes though. The service manual is a complicated monster. Do you have a link to where I can get the Haynes or does anyone know of a better manual... For the future. I plan on keeping this truck for a long time, so I will need it.

I guess I'm close enough to the city where city pricing follows me. (50 miles) mzxtreme - You are right it cannot be worth that, BUT... My trusty mechanic is in the city. Driving to him alone is 25 dollars worth of gas. Plus the wait and stuff, plus I always spend money when I go to the city. The car is already there, i will next time though. Sensors seem to be a big thing with this late model R50's. Savings will come in the future.

Final Tally:::: The dealer is charging me 124.95 for the Align/rotate/balance and 212.94 for the Sensor (includes labor). This sucks... Through that on a CC till I can pay it off I guess.

I called the Firestone by me... For the one time Rotate/Balance/Align... They want $120. For life (I'm probably changin the tires in a year or so) they want $226. VTC is Valve Timing Control Sensor Pezzy, You are right. There is nothing wrong with it, its just banging the tow hitch. Let that @!*% bang all it wants. I will change with time, maybe something that helps with mpg if there is such a thing. Thanks for the quick responses. Freaking warranty did not cover any of this. Will do the sensor and the alignment. The sensor itself is $85 dollars. Plus time wasted and my utter dumbness for mechanics, makes sense to let them do it. I will get the next one.

So., left the car at the dealer this morning... Things needed.... Alignment - They offered to aligh, rotate and balance the tires for 124.95.. Fair price? VTC Sensor for the p1140 code 212.94.. Real HIGH??? Bumping in the back is NOT the stabilizer link is the exhaust system banging on the tow hitch. They want 800 to change it from the CAT back. ( HELLS NO).... My concer is on the Sensor really? How hard is it to change a VTC... Need an answer ASAP please.

Warranty should cover this., but we will find out... I did find out that the Stabilizer Link is covered so I will take advantage and get that replaced as well.

So, I turned OFF the SES light and it came back on almost right away. Turn it off last night when I got home from work. Drove 5 miles to the train station this morning. The light was back on when I got back to the train station this afternoon. Is something like this covered under one of those dealer warranties you get when you buy a used car?

So after a long drive on the Pathy. I come back home Sunday night and fuel up with Sunoco 91 Octane before I park the Pathy for the night. In the morning I turn her on as normal, warm her up for a minute or so. Take off and about a 1/4 mile later, that dreadful SES light comes on. The first thing that comes to my mind is maybe last night I was too tired and did not tighten the Gas Cap fully. So when I get to the train station I take off the gas cap and put it back on NICE AND TIGHT. Get back home at night and borrow my neighbors reader. He has the same type they use in Autozone an Actron CP9135. It throws 3 codes. 1- The Knock Sensor - This is normal according to Nissan disregard and it is so disregard. The knock sensor does not trip the ECU. 2. P1140 - Manufacturer Control - Fuel Air Metering 3. Same as 2. So I say to myself great its probably JUST that. The gas cap. Let me instead of taking it off, let it go out by itself. Curious as I am, I decide to look it up in the Service Manual and this says p1140 - Right Intake Valve Timing Control Sensor (Circuit) So here lies the question. Should I erase with the reader and see if it comes back. Or take to dealer and let them do it (i'm afraid though that this sensor might not be included in the warranty).. Also who should I believe, the machine of the service manual. Thanks for your help.

Nothing for now... That will quickly change before the end of summer to something like 1-2k.

LOL... Just drove 220 miles. Filled up before I left.. Set the Trip and took off. Drove about 80 miles there, 80 miles back. The rest was driving in the city. So the drive there I was doing 80-85, on straight aways sometimes a couple of times 90. In the city, 40-45 non aggresive with a 20 mile strip where I drove with 9 people in the Pathy. It was like a clown act. The way back... I did 75-80 all the way. Got 15mpg.

Unfortunately I drive her harder than I did my 5spd Accord. I'll learn though. My pockets will teach me a lesson in driving I thought I would never get. In the highway I normally do 80-85. Maybe try to do 70-75. It will be hard::: On the roads, I keep it light normally. But do enjoy feeling those 240HP and I need to be doing 4400rpm for that so its a trade off. Is it NOT needed, I figure if the truck comes with?

Hey all, As many of you know Gas prices had made me try and get rid of my recently purchased Pathy. I since them have come to my senses and decided that forget the GAS... I love the Pathy and can pay for the gas, so suck it up and drive on. Apart from the gas it was killing me that I sold a car that was great on gas for a guzzler and spent an extra 7k to boot. (Freaking hindsight is 20/20) Oh well, All that needs to be said is that I love my Pathy and can't wait to start working on her to make her unique and mine. First thing is first which is fixing that noise in the back that happens when I run certain bumps. I have read here that its the sway bar links so will go ahead an change em. Replace the tires.. AT Revos is what I'm thinking. 255/70/16. Really comtemplating manual hubs, since I hear i can shave some mpg's (truth?). Not sure when the last time my Tranny fluid was flushed. I bought my Pathy with 67k miles and the owner prior to me was a Lease. When I check the fluid it's a nice, very nice, reddish color. My mechanic says, if its not dark don't change it, if you have to change it... Wait for a dealer special and do it at the dealer and by ALL MEANS DON'T DO IT AT THE QUICK LUBE PLACES... My Sienna which I have had from day 1 has got a tranny flush at 65k and another at 100k... Now at 101k and still purring like a kitten.

Do you guys know if there is anything that can be sprayed on them to stop squeaking... Meaning any solution that does not require me taking off the wheels.

My front brakes are squeaking BUT they are new. About 3 months old. They don't squeak during regular stop and go. They only squeak when you are just barely tapping on the break after you have nearly fully stopped. Regular stopping NO SQUEAK. Let's say I'm parking, or just moving the truck forward a bit, THEY SQUEAK - but not always... What do ya'll think... :help:

I'm the first one to cry uncle when I fuel up the Pathy. But the difference here in the North east is about 20-25cents per gallon between 87 and 93. Meaning a price difference of 3.20-4.00. I think its safer and better to just use 93. Anytime you are retarding something, it just doesn't sound right...LOL

200mpt... really? That would make me feel good since my light goes on at like 250miles., and I still have about 3-4 gallons left since the truck usually only takes 16-17 gallons and its a 21 gallong tank. Meaning that I get roughly 300 mpt...

I see you have a K&N Filter... Did you see a change after installing that?
