  1. ya my needle does the exact thing, but only the one for the speedo
  2. having a similar issue, everything else on the panel works right but the speedo doesnt move at idle or once i get moving, occasionally for no reason at all it will pop up to whatever i'm currently going then sit there, and if i come to a stop lag downward at any given rate.
  3. check your spark plugs lately, first thing that comes to mind for me.
  4. dont hate on the s2k actually a buddy of mines car but i can wish
  5. I was gonna suggest that you do ur timing belt since it's going to have to come off anyways, but your already ahead of the ball game. just make sure you dont do the tensioner too tight, or ur gonna have to reset it (sucks to have to pull everything off again when u hear the noise)
  6. i just had a similar problem about a month ago, replaced the water pump and *walla* leak fixed
  7. So cruising around town and found this beauty on the road......GIT R DONE
  8. guess i'll be popping into nissan to find a pair of these, managed to snap my passengers side one, not sure how long it was there, didnt find it till after i put on the suspension lift, nasty hanging bugger managed to rub onto my steering stabilizer, nice little dentage
  9. well i had replaced the cv axle thinking the clunking was because of that, so once i put the new axle on also got locking hubs while i was at it, so it's all fresh hubs over the auto, but the fact that it only does it in 4wd and not 2wd has me worried, but i'll jack it up and take a look
  10. So was having a weird clunking/dipping reaction on the drivers side only from my 4wd whenever i would try and go to the left, thought it had something to do with my blown cv joint on that side, replaced. Now i thought i'd try again and it is still doing it, i am able to turn right and move, or move forward center and get nothing wrong, but minute i attempt to go towards the left i get a weird clunking sound and dipping motion from drivers side. I am able to move perfectly normal in 2wd, left right foward, doesn't matter. don't have anyone able to drive my truck and let me watch yet, but any ideas what it might be before hand?
  11. Thorley have a price on shipping on top of that and is this the style to fit 86.5/87 with 3in body and 3in susp? I wanna do it but need to wait till may for my 'stimulative growth check' hehe
  12. finally getting around to it, are you referring to the tightening of the belt itself (allen wrench) , or the nut holding the tensioner pulley?
  13. Thought i'd throw this up here when i was doin my monthly search through all the ebay junk, maybe one yall can fit this, seems like a decent price. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Grille-Bump...sspagenameZWDVW
  14. @!*% could be possible, any special rule of thumb for that?
  15. Driving a 86.5/87 Nissan Pathfinder. So had my water pump die on me and finally got around to changing it, got it in no problem, everything went back in place no problem, no left over bolts/screws, whatever. Startup the car and i get a low whining coming from the crank shaft area, thought it sounded similar to maybe a belt not moving right, or a pulley not keeping up with the belt, etc. but everything is moving correctly and belts are in the right place. Loosened/tightened the crank shaft bolt (the big one that holds it in) and doesn't seem to change anything. The higher RPM's i go faster/louder the whining goes. Is there something special i need to do for it, or someone have a similar situation and have a solution, appears to be running top shape other then the sound.
  16. worked moving those stops up, had to really screw them out tho, wonder if just age got to them, thanks
  17. so was having a problem with my hood not popping up when i was trying to open it, only way to get it open was to have someone pull on the line/link thing and hold until someone else could walk over and pull the hood up enough to unlatch, so went bought a new latch, replaced it and still is doing the same thing, what/where exactly pops the hood up when u pull the line? Thanks.
  18. mile marker vs warn, is there a big enough difference to spend the extra 75 bucks that 4x4 parts wants, or is there a cheaper place to look for those warn? thanks
  19. starter possibly? i know when mine died most the electric worked
  20. I'm currently trying to put in new cv axles atm, and am running into that first snap ring being off very very little (maybe 1/16th of an inch) and the snap ring just won't budge in. Since i'm running into this trouble and i probably need to work them on anyways, the manual hubs, do they go on the same way that the stock do? You mention that the snap ring goes on the outside groove, do you mean on the splines itself the 2nd groove closest to the end? Just thinkin of alternative ways if it continues to be unable to get that snap ring on. Thanks
  21. well gave it abit of lift and didnt seem to budge, i can actually shift the shaft itself on the axle in and out for the splines, but doesn't seem to come out enough still, gonna go ahead and pull out the axle, check that spacer make sure no crud or anything got up in it, any potential feedback is welcome! Thankls
  22. was able to successfully put on the new axle, but the splines don't seem to be out far enough for the hub. Without having to remove to from the main diff we've tryed knocking it inward alittle to try and get just alittle more of the splines to pop out. The snap ring is just barely unable to get back on, maybe 1/16 of an inch, the snap ring spot is visible, but space is very miniscul. Any ideas without having to remove the entire axle and trying again? Thanks
  23. Got an 86.5/87 4x4 v6 pathy, need to replace the cv axle, found some for an '89, any ideas if it will fit, or am i gonna have problems. Also, is there a difference between the passenger side and the drivers side? Thanks
  24. last time i had that issue, it was spark plugs and the wires forem
