  1. since the cv boot was mentioned, recently when putting on my SL i noticed that mine was torn on drivers side, and looks as if abit of mud/dirt etc got in there, any special away to clean all that out, and what's the difference between the inner/outer? or suggestions possibly before i go and buy new boot to put on
  2. Wondering what the stock inlet is on an 87 XE pathy, lookin to get a new muffler
  3. I was lookin into ball joint spacers earlier today, and was wondering if there is really any down side to adding them as far as any extra stress or wear on the suspension by useing them. Also just to clarify since im no real grease monkey 4x4parts refers to 2 different sets, one for use with stock 'a-arms' and one for aftermarket, a-arm is the UCA correct?
  4. with the new alternator any difference in the belt you'll need?
  5. ok figured what the problem was, and got it to get more height, just an issue with that anchor arm (or whatever it is) not adjusted to the right spot. Now the instructions that came with the lift say that the UCA should sit like 1/2 inch above the rubber bumper, is this pretty accurate or would say needs to be lower to it?
  6. i have tightened that bolt as far as possible and gain no lift on my drivers side, my passenger side does get a lift tho when i tightened it's bolt
  7. just finished swapping in the new torsion bars, encountering the exact same sag towards the drivers front, and lifting in the passenger rear. so by turning the splines is that what actually changes the level of lowering/lifting? Or is it actually tightening the 2 nuts that connect from the top to the longer bolt. the front passenger seems to tighten enough to give some lift, but we've tighten the front drivers to hell and back and won't tighten any more and it's still very very low. any suggestions ideas maybe something we've missed?
  8. the torsion bars should add an inch or 2 correct? cause at the moment put on the new uca's and didn't seem to make any difference, might be cause of the offset right now too
  9. they're new ones that came with the full kit from 4x4parts
  10. So i just spent this last week finishing up most of my lift with steering stabilizer, minus the torsion bars. Now when i finished adding the coil springs to the back, i noticed a slight tilt downward to my drivers side, upon comparing sides, my space comparison from driver to passenger for the rear was off by 1 inch, thought maybe sometin with me not doing the front might have some issue, so finished doing the front and now my back is still 1 inch off and now the front is 1/2 inch off, any ideas where i might have messed up or what might fix this, maybe the fact that i haven't done the torsion bars, but didn't think that would affect the back in anyway.
  11. well that'll be my last resort, gonna throw it in freezer see if that'll shrink the rubber alittle
  12. well got the new spindle with the UCA on it, only any quick way to remove the upper link from inside the UCA, only thing i can find is to 'burn' out those rubber bushings, any other suggestions?
  13. using pic from statikuz post write-up as an example but in the pic towards the left side where the idler arm is, when the steering wheel is turned far left, the idler arm moves towards the spindle end of the stabilizer, and hits basically right onto the end, now it's only a problem when i hit a bump cause that'll cause a little bump and it'll hit the end into the idler arm. i haven't been able to put on the UCA's/adjust torsion bars, but not sure if that'll even make a difference
  14. so i got the steering stabilizer for my 87 pathy from 4x4parts, i have it installed and what not, but i notice that the end of the spindle rubs/bumps on the bottom part of the idler arm when i turn far far left and or hit a bump turning left, once i add the new upper control arms will that fix the space issue or make no difference. any ideas/suggestions?
  15. what size is the nut that holds the pitman arm, can't find a fit from my set
  16. so called up checker to find the cost of a coil spring compressor, since im in the process of puttin on my suspension lift, and turns out put down a deposit for the cost of the tool, return the tool within 3 days, no charge and get deposit back, wasn't sure if people were aware of this so thought id let everyone know meanwhile just waitin on new upper spindle to come in and lift will be done *happy dance*
  17. pm sent with the nfo, let me know if u got any troubles and ill see what i can do to help
  18. hey whatever i owe ya let me know as for the bushings i shouldn't need, last i looked they come in the susp lift kit, pretty sure i can just flip the link and shouldn't have a prob using on the other side
  19. would the fan from a 92 mercury sable work, am told it's compatible, assuming it's the same one? 2 speeds on it
  20. Just noticed today my fan (stock) has a nasty crack going across the base of it, wondering if it's worth shelling out the 200 or so bucks to buy one off of 4x4parts. Is there any real dramatic benefit or should i really worry about getting one over a stock original?
  21. assuming that should work since the kit from 4x4parts works from 86-95, i can't thank you enough btw
  22. ya that's the rod i need 20 buck + shipping offer still stand, let me know
  23. it's not the control arm i need, it's the spindle that runs through the arm itself, local JY wanted 40 bucks, nissan wants 60, vegas man i swear anyone will do anything to try and make a buck
  24. before u go outta ur way gonna check my JY first, hopefully this afternoon after work, ill let ya know if any luck
