  1. So I was looking at a friend's 2001 QX4 and he complained that every morning the battery would be completely dead on it. At first, I thought it must have been the alternator, so I tested the voltage output with a multimeter and the output was good so it wasn't the alternator. Then he said the seats move by themselves for no apparent reason, even with the cancel switch set to cancel. I realized that this may be a problem since the seats also move when the key is out of the ignition. So I ran the diagnostics as specified in the FSM and counted the blinks but it looked like the memory control panel (located on the driver's door) came up with more than one code and one of them was the speed sensor circuit yet the speedometer works fine. For the time being, to prevent the battery from going dead, I have de-activated the power seat controls by disconnecting the circuit breaker to them that was behind the lower dashboard on the left side. From what I have read online, Nissan has had problems with the memory seats failing. Is there a common solution to this?
  2. I know the first pathfinders had a real oil pressure gauge instead of a light. Was this just a fake gauge or did it give you a real reading?
  3. The circled fasteners remove the following parts: Do not touch other screws. You also have to remove all the other gauges before removing the speedometer and the odometer.
  4. http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=217/category_id=69/home_id=59/mode=prod/prd217.htm looks like an option to me
  5. I'm attempting to build a custom gauge cluster out of Autometer gauges. One of the things I want to do is relocate all the gear indicators into a single indicator. I was looking at this: http://www.phoenixtuning.com/zenstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=267 Is there anything similar to that? I need a digital LED thing for the auto that says P, R, N, D, 2, 1. Here is the manufacturers website of that thing: http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm
  6. If you are buying something from the dealer that they consider to be a "maintenance item" then that doesn't come with the high premium and is usually sold at a parts store price.
  7. I got one from the dealership. It comes with the solenoid and everything. Drop it in and forget about it.
  8. The tabs on the square ones are surprisingly very tough to break.
  9. Just a quick question... Are there any alternative gauge clusters that will fit a 91 dash? I think MY1Path did something with one from a Nissan Sentra.
  10. If you ever want to take your gauge cluster out and clean it, here are some tips (for the square flat dash model): 1. Only remove the plastic bezel around the gauge faces and nothing else. Don't only remove the clear plastic screen and spray cleaner on the bezel. This is how I lost my numbers on the tachometer. Remove this assembly to clean, you can separate the two pieces if you want. Also, it is safe to use cleaner on these two pieces. Do not clean the rest and if you absolutely have to, do not use a cleaner, only water and a microfiber towel. 2. Use the black tabs to remove the bezel. Don't forget to remove the clock adjustment knob, which is held on by a screw. OOPS! At least it was already somewhat broken anyway...
  11. The fuel fill cap? You beat me to it but thanks, very informative!
  12. chances are the valve that got stuck down was bent you will have to get a screwdriver in there and pry the valve back straight or take it out and straighten in it out other than that, pray
  13. sometimes the contacts on the dome switch get a little corroded so you just wiggle the switch and whack the dome then it works again if the fuse was bad, the whole interior would be dark as it is fused to ROOM LAMP
  14. So I should be fine with my 70A and a Quest one? The Maxima one has dual fans and the Quest one is a single large fan. They both appear to bolt up to the factory shroud locations.
  15. Which is the better e-fan to run? Then what would be a good alternator to help with the load? I know some use the Maxima one. Can the WD21 alternator handle the load?
  16. Where did you find out about the optimal temp? I never saw anything in the FSM.
