  1. Yes, that's 80+ MPH. I get my pathy up to 85 MPH and it holds that speed just fine.
  2. I have been having this same issue for quite a while now. It got much better and less noticeable after I gave it a tune-up with new cap and plugs and wires, replaced the temperature sensor, cleaned the MAF, fixed the MAF wiring, and put a new O2 sensor in, which isn't very new anymore. My truck has been doing this ever since I upgraded to a new exhaust with headers and a 2.5" pipe. Chances are it's the ECU although I still have that annoying exhaust tick somewhere which I'm trying to get rid of and I think it can also be part of the problem. I didn't investigate the TPS in depth yet so that could also be an issue. The issue doesn't bother me that much as it goes away almost instantly as the truck warms up and gets to operating temperature. Before anyone says something, my codes are 5 5 which means no problems. If it was the distributor cap then it would run crappy most of the time and not clear up this fast.
  3. Nice airbag light! Now that's some good power there with the mods that guy has. That poor chunk of aluminum...
  4. screw VQ35s rebuild that VG33 into a VG34
  5. If you aren't planning to do much other than changing the ECU then you won't see any noticeable difference in performance. However if you are adding bolt ons then you may be able to see a little benefit from that ECU.
  6. yeah i thought i heard a small mammal filter
  7. Ok there 2 issues that will cause a high idle from my experience: 1. You need to get the engine cleaned. Last time I had a funny idle problem like you, I had to take the truck to a shop and have the engine cleaned up. I think they ran seafoam through it and changed the oil. They told me that it was the dirtiest they have seen in 15 years. 2. The throttle cable may have to be adjusted down a little. You may also want to check out the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve).
  8. Just a small thing about the secondary fuel gauge: All models that used the square dash, with the exception of the rounded gauges one, have a sub fuel gauge hookup. The later models that have the little fuel light actually have variable voltage output to the light and the light comes on when the voltage is right. The light starts real dim and then turns bright as you run out of gas. However, the secondary gauge is pretty much useless because running your fuel pump that low will probably kill it. The oil light is also more than enough for the average user. The good thing about having the gauge is you can monitor the needle bounce up and down on engine revs but VGs don't have funny oil problems except maybe on Z cars which are remedied with huge oil pans. Someone please chime in on the oil light vs oil gauge deal because I don't know if the oil gauge is actually even a real gauge or just a switch that triggers with low oil pressure. I know on some cars the oil gauge was just a switch that was replaced with only a light later on. I was wondering if Nissan did the same or used a true gauge and later replaced it with only a light. If Nissan used a true gauge then that sender should still output a voltage range good enough for a gauge but the electronic chip or whatever is inside the cluster or ECU converts it into a GOOD or BAD idiot light. In that case a retro-fit to a real gauge is also possible just like with the sub fuel gauge.
  9. Even new cars do this! The engine will not always start from the first crank. As long as the starter doesn't sound like it's winding down and it starts in a few seconds then there is nothing to worry about.
  10. I'm a twisted individual who enjoys your sarcasm. 26 second 0-60 video you know when I first got my truck it wouldn't even reach 40 in 26 seconds because it was out of tune with worn out suspension and had a sticky fan clutch. Now it does 0-60 in around 11 seconds and has the great handling of a car to match too! Not bad for a 20 year old compact truck. On that note, I bet that Titan can corner really well too! I will be happy to race that off-road in a Raptor SVT though. Rams vs Titans are just about an even match. Nothing is as slow as full size pickups even though they have gotten much faster. It's obvious why since they are heavy and have the aerodynamics of a brick. Of course they have higher compression larger displacement engines with VVTi and what not which will cut around 3 to 4 seconds off 0-60 time in a heavy 5000 lb body. This only makes a difference in a straight line and that's it. Who cares if old Pathfinders are a few seconds slower? The old Pathfinders can go where a full size truck just can't go. Can we go back on topic now?
  11. This is pretty much how my Pathfinder accelerates. It can't carry as much as that F150 can though! My thoughts exactly! It may have plenty of torque (and really not that much compared to the competition) but everything else is just sub standard. Basically it's just a cheap full size pickup to haul stuff around in. It's not practical for anything else beyond that just like most full size pickup trucks, at least in factory form.
  12. Looks like all you have to do is tweak the fender wells and use a body lift then everything seems to fit right into place once you move all the other stuff around. I want to know one thing though and that is if he still has air conditioning.
  13. The 0 to 60 was in the last 11 seconds which is not bad for something with 31s. Also, Titans suck. If Nissan made something that was a real upgrade to the WD21, I would have it today. No slippage there; I let go off the pedal because there was a car slowing down in front of me, stupid civic driver mashing the brakes trying to piss me off, and then I stepped on the pedal again when I got around it and at the same time I tried to get it out of power mode. It's really hard to do this on a busy highway while holding the camera and watching the road. I need to find a way to secure the camera to the column or have someone else hold it.
  14. chances are it is since it weighs about half that of the pathfinder and has smaller tires to spin i am pretty sure it will be around 7 seconds in 0-60
  15. why does it not start at 0 and that's horrendously slow for a V8
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2XHvLrj_iM damn honda civic made me mess up and the camera work was iffy i need to make it again with someone else holding the camera
  17. I will play in a bit! Standby...
  18. new boot = no more hot foot

Look on the bright side, sandles in winter

  19. x2 on the TD27, they are nice engines
  20. I say let's have an acceleration video contest!
  21. I'm going to see what I can do about that EGR tube tomorrow. I don't think the big header flange is leaking but I will take a pic if I get a chance from the bottom. I already looked from that point of view and did not see any cracks.
  22. patch the frame, it's not a big deal
