  1. That's what my plan was. Just patch it and drive it to work and school for a while until I could afford something better. It's still on craigslist and the guy lives down the street from me so if he still has it in a month he said he'd give me a call back.
  2. Well after some talk with my mechanic and father about it, I could only offer him $500 because of the rust. He said he'll keep me in mind if he can't sell it in the next few months. So that's where I stand, on the hunt again!
  3. I'll take some more pictures of the rust when I get it into the shop Friday.
  4. Hey guys, I've been lurking on this site again looking for more info about wd21's. I have recently found a 1994 Pathfinder SE. It was originally bought in Seneca Falls, NY and spent the first 3 years of it's life there. Then in 2002 the Carfax says it was imported into the US through customs in Brunswick, GA. The next entry says it was registered 2 months later in Texas. The current owner then bought the car in Springfield, MO in March of 2007 with 116,000 miles. He moved here to Dallas, TX about a year ago and has just bought another car and needs to sell this one. It has 160,000 miles currently. The maintenance that has been done includes: Timing belt @ 120,000 miles New starter New brake rotors New blower motor relay New CV boots New Firestone Destination LE's 31x10.5 and rotated every oil change @ 3,000 miles Knock sensor replaced New bypass hose and thermostat New lower radiator hose The truck has a flip up sunroof, he lost the shade, a new Pioneer head unit with ipod and USB hookups, new Pioneer speakers all around. The interior is very clean excluding the vinyl on the light bar above your head, that is falling off. Mechanically it runs great and the only noise I heard from driving it around is the a/c blower. The truck does have some rust spots, a couple you can see in the pic, around the bottom rear of the rear doorsils and above the rear fenders. Another one on the front passenger fender has bubbling paint and the front driver inner fender has rust right by the radiator. Under the car there is some surface rust on the suspension components. The frame on the drivers side is pretty flaky though which is what concerns me the most. He's asking $2,250. Edmunds has it listed as $675 for private party and $1,750 for dealer retail. The KBB, which is what this guy is basing his price on, says $2,500 for private party. On both I rated the car in fair condition. Here's the picture I have of it What do you guys think? Should I buy it or not? Does this seem like a fair price? Thanks, Andrew
  5. Ah crap. Well they took that pathfinder off of their site so I'm assuming it got sold today, the day before I was going to see it. Back to square one I guess. If anyone has a wd21 pathy in good condition for sale in the DFW area let me know. Just another example of when I wait for a good thing, it gets swooped out from under me.
  6. I feel the same way. Almost too good to be true. The big signs saying engine and transmission repair kinda turn me off but who knows maybe it is that diamond in the rough.
  7. Thanks, my dad and I went to go drive by the "dealership" today to go check it out. I say "dealership" because in reality it's a garage and they have the big metal fences that you can't see into kinda like an impound. The sight of it gave me and my father a uneasy feeling about the place. We couldn't see the car so I'll have to go by there when they are open. I'll definitely be going over it with a fine tooth comb. Here's the street view of it Cedar Auto Sales
  8. Here is another link to the actual dealer site, has better pics. Cedar Auto Sales It's actually an SE not an LE. The snow is almost all gone so I'll head over there on Monday.
  9. What about fitting 235/85/16's (32"x~9") on a stock wd21?
  10. Oh and thanks to Mr.510 for sending me to this site from expeditionportal.com, this site has given me a lot of info on these vehicles.
  11. Thanks for that tip on rust, I'll definitely check for that. From what the dealer says it is a one owner car, and just running the vin on the carfax on autotrader (without paying) it says there are 25 entries on the vin which says two things to me. One is that if it was a one owner car then a lot of maintenance was done at a dealership, and two if the carfax that they hand me has a different amount of entries then something smells fishy. This dealer is not located in the best of areas and a lot of the area is surrounded by pawn shops and strip clubs, causing my father and I to be wary to begin with. Thanks for ya'lls input. Does the anthricite looking finish on the wheels mean anything? Is that a special edition kinda thing for these? i think it looks pretty sweet with that dark cherry and charcoal rims. If the tranny doesn't have a bypass auto tranny cooler should I just walk away or see how it feels and make it my first mod? I just want this to be a dd and expo/camping vehicle by throwing on some treadwright 31" tires and maybe a lockright.
  12. Hi guys, My name is Andrew. I hail from snowy Dallas and have been trying to go look at this '95 wd21 LE but this darn weather doesn't seem to be cooperating. I've printed off both pages of what to look for and made a checklist for when I go check it out. Here's a link to the ad,autotrader, tell me what you guys think. Also what are the major differences between the XE, SE, and LE trims. I've been lurking around here for a while and haven't seen anyone talk about the LE. Thanks.
