After mudding the brakes start to smell for a few days, I know some new 4x4 trucks come with boots over them so mud doesnt get into it and smell like mine are, I looked in the Haynes manual and I didn't see anything that was like that from the diagrams. I also thought that maybe there was a groove in the rotor and mud was getting stuck in it, but when I replaced the front caliper and brake pads last year I don't remember seeing a groove. Also the smell is coming from all 4 tires, its an 87 and really old but is there anyway to fix this??

yeah no kidding. Any preference? The 40 series seems like it would sound better from what the description said, but the summit racing one seems like itd be better on performance.

Simple green works really good if you have a sprayer, and I just put grocery bags over the electrical stuff and just clean it by hand.

yea that crossed my mind since I have no lift and 1 part of a trail i go on a lot I almost hit the tip everytime. And just a replacement pipe for after the muffler, unless I find some aftermarket stuff for my year b/c I don't feel like dealing with cutting bending and welding new pipe together and all. sssh

its in the muffler, but I've been wanting to get an aftermarket one for a while now, so heres my reason to.

so I found out I have a leak. Now I can finally work on getting a nice sounding exhaust. I just have no idea where to start, I went to the flowmaster website and they didn't have any for my year, and JC whitney has some but I'd rather have dual. Any suggestions?

no I'm trying 2 find something quick b/c I want 2 get it for my b-day in 8 days, /c im low on money right now.

I have a bigger problem now..I believe my clutch is going. it smells everytime i drive it for the past 2 days. Anyone know of a website with replacements for a good price?

a tool bag with random @!*% that isnt gonna help if I break down unless something can be fixed with 40 different heads of a screwdriver or tightened with plyers. but I do have a 12ft or so tow rope, i dunno how much weight it can hold but if it breaks im pretty much screwed b/c all of my friends are poor. -thnkboutit-

After off-roading today, I noticed when I almost get the steering wheel all the way turned to one side or the other it kinda like catches. I looked under the car on the driver side to see if like some weeds or something was keeping it from going smoothly. but I couldnt really tell with the little light on my keychain...any ideas?

SL is definitely in the works now after a good but annoying day yesterday of bottoming out in the front end, cross member, rear hitch and almost taking out my exhaust. doh! AND I left my camera at home... :furious:

so after 3 days of spraying constantly and almost using the whole can. I break off the 2 bolt heads I try to get off...next option.

so the shocks I picked out only work with 0-1.5" of lift....and the kit is a 2.5-3". What shocks do you guys recomend that aren't terribly expensive and perform good.

err. how about just some1 who installed it themself. I know how to get the coils and UCA out but just how hard is it...time wise and pissed off factor.

ok I'll rephrase it. Who has installed a SL lift on their truck themselves, and exactly how hard is it? I can't find a write up about installing one. Also do you need new torsion bars along with UCA, rear coils, and shocks. better? -thnkboutit-

who has installed a suspension lift?

i was planning on getting a new one later on. I've also been looking at suspension lifts on 4x4parts.com and this one doesnt seem to bad on price or parts. but do I reallly need the new torsion bars? so my b-day is coming up at the end of the month and family/girlfriend want ideas. I want to go off-roading and not be afraid I'm going to crack something on the chasis since I have no lift and running 31x10.5s BFGs. So far I've got RC Nitro 9000 shocks, and maybe a steering stablizer if I can get my stupid skid plate off without breaking the heads off the bolts... :help:
