so if i buy some of these 18 inch titan rims i will have to bore out the center hole by 25 mm or whatever? i saw earlier that the pathfinder has a 100 mm hub and the titan 75 is this correct? alex

could a reason for my reverse gear not working be the transmission control unit? perhaps? please give me some answers! if i just get a whole new used? trannsmisson will that most likely solve my problem. i found one out there from a 99 pathfinder Le with like 80 k miles. should i get this? its 450 with out the transfer case. but i still have that working so it should bolt right up.

dang ill look into it but i have to fix my transmission first... the reverse went out. so if you know anything about transmissions please help me out!

haha well thanks anyways. im looking for more of an automatic then a 5 speed. i think im gunna go with the QX4. for street stuff. i have a 96 path that is more made for off road. i dont want to scrach up my new qx4. so dont worry guys ill still off road. the best thing i like about the qx4 is the 4x4 switch on my pathfinder i have the stick thing and it can get hard changing from 2wd to 4x4 maybe i need to fix that. but the bose is really nice. alex

hey guys give me some input on the 3 options that ive found for a new pathfinder. This will be my second pathfinder and i took them on a test drive and i didnt know my pathfinder drove so amazing back when it was that young. well here is what i narrowed it down to... 1997 nissan pathfinder XE 10,000 66 k miles 1997 infiniti Qx4 7,900 97 k miles 1999 nissan pathfinder SE 93 k miles 10,000 im really leaning toward the infiniti right now it drives great tell me what yall think thanks - alex infiniti

yeah i have the same problem but i dont have revese anymore. but if i buy an lsd then all my tires will spin? instead on 1 on each axle? or will only a locker do that?

alright thanks for the info a did some more research and found a 97 tranny already out with the transfer case for 450 which is very reasonable. i will check them out and see which has less miles on it.

well i found an auto tranny out of a 96 pathfinder LE without the transfer case. its 850 with low miles. is this a good deal. it does not come with a tranfer case. but can i just take mine off and bolt it onto this other one? any details that i should know? thanks -Alex

alright ill make some phone calls tomorrow and see what i come up with. i was at a junk yard not too long ago and found a pathy le out there but i didnt check to see if it still had the tranny up in so ill have to see. but i live in central utah and so far i havent met anyone on here from utah but ill let you guys know what i find out. -Alex oh ya and would later model pathy trannys work? like a 99.5 and up?

A couple of days ago i was backing out of my garage and the reverse gear would work after a couple of minutes fiddling with the gear shifter it worked. today it wouldnt reverse at all ihad to push it out. i thought it was the tranny fluid so i changed that and now it still doesnt work. my brother thought that it might be the reverse clutch disc. i came to this conclusion too because if it was a gear you would hear it grind right? well anyway its a daily driver and i need it fixed. so what do you guys think i should do? how much would something like that cost? or can i go to my local junk yard and a newer tranny and just swap it out? thanks for the help. -Alex its an automatic

this kind of sounds like a stupid question but how can i tell if i have a limited slip differental or not in my 96 pathy xe? 4x4. thanks -alex

well i found where i saw the snorkel it was at rocky road. so just if you guys didnt know

alright well i guess that answered the electrical questions. so what about mechanial pezzy said something about a differential breather. someone please enlighten me. And i have seen a snorkel mounted on an R50 i just dont think it was built for the R50 it was probably for the xterra but fitted to the pathfinder.

if i slap a snorkel on my pathfinder. it will allow me to go into deeper water. But would that deeper water effect like the electronics of the car? like all the fuses and stuff like that? any input would be good. thanks -Alex

this kindof explains more of what i was talking about. see how the stock cd player has a bracket and then a stock cubby hole under that. if you get one of these out of an old pathfinder that doesnt have the bose system that fills it all up you can just take your aftermarket stereo and screw it onto that and it will look pretty good i would suppose.

i should have said earlier not an aftermarket one for the 96 and up pathfinders. im talking about hte factory one that comes with a 1 din cd player like mine. if you have a local junk yard find a pathfinder that has a 1 din cd player and take the whole cd player dash mount. then swap out the stock 1 din player with your aftermarket alpine or what ever it was. it should just screw right on and fit perfectly i assume. i hope the clears up stuff alex

well depending on what kind of dash you have... my pathfinder which is a 96 would fit a 1 din cd player fine. maybe try getting a cd player mount from an older model. It does have a cubby hole but its a factory one so it doesnt look all gay. -Alex
