Wow, so around $950 labour alone? I *guess* that is OK for a job well done and the peace of mind given they actually seem to give a damn about what they're doing! For that much dough, won't they fix your leaky crossover pipe?
-
Hey Skrill, how'd that shop you used work out? Would you recommend them? Let me know as I have a little exhaust work on my list of mods for later next year.

It's all good... The Jetta did get better mileage, and it was way, way more fun to drive... Yup, twins. Nobody told me that I would need a moving truck to go to the cottage for a weekend and the wife-unit put the kaibosh on the whole minivan idea. It was either a new Pathy, X or 4Runner. I wanted to stick with Nissan and the X was too small....pathy won! ...NOT that I am trying to explain myself

Just looking at your avatar...I'm hoping it's a pre-lift pic: Anyhoo, all that s_h_i_t aside...good luck with the SAS! Edit: Oh yeah, and I traded an 03 Jetta for the 05...the WD will be around for years to come!

Perhaps you missed something...while it is a far better daily driver than your WD21, it simply is not as capable on the trails. BUT, it has probably already seen tougher trails than your "rig" (which by the way, looks like it's been slammed...they're called T Bars, try adjusting them) ever will. Having said that, the problem seems to be more the goofy traction control system...I can plant my foot on a good climb, but no spinny spinny and no momentum.
-
Agreed! Would I be pissed if I traded in my WD21 for my 05? Yup. Hell I bought the thing on a whim and didn't even know it was IRS til I got it home and took a peek underneath The thing totally sux on the trail, but is great for hauling the kids around.

Sorry folks, yeah as Pezzy said I don't stop by here nearly often enough. I'm pretty light on the mods so far: 3" Calmini Susp lift 3" AC BL 33" BFG ATs on some goofy 767 knockoffs Centerforce DF clutch AC front brakes with braided stainless lines uhm, let see here...oh lots o' holes and dents and as of yesterday...Stage 3 L&P Steering!! Thanks again for all your help Simon...you da man! -
I'm with Trainman when it comes to ice. Smaller footprint = more downpressure per square inch = better traction. With snow, I dunno, standard tire pressure is too much fun to mess with When it comes right down to it, the best way to find out what you CAN do in the snow/ice is to find out what you CAN'T do first! The more you lose control in a controlled situation like a parking lot, the better you'll know how your vehicle behaves.

So it's pretty much mint?
-
Yup, bring 'er out...we can have fun pulling some X's out of the mud

Congrats on a sweet machine Derogate...I have always loved those FJs. I figure all the work and hassle will make you appreciate it that much more!

Jeez thanks everybody! The bit of damage I did that day to the rear bumper and quarter panel was all worth while. I may have to celebrate with something fitting...another run to Dune Park perhaps?! -
Email sent! I am in desperate need of a new rear bumper after this: ...and I really dig your design. I'd love to know how many hours you put into building this thing!

My 95 doesn't have any holes yet, but it has was babied until I bought it about a year ago. IMO, it still looks WAY worse than it should! pssd
-
I might be able to make it (if somebody helps my wife with the kids today ), but alas, I am also in a "non-gay" Nissan. On a side note, where do you live Luker? I am not far from that Tim's either...

Although I have been lurking around here since September, I have been spending most of my time over at soxc.org fully expecting to buy an Xterra one of these days. Well, I thought I should introduce myself here after trading a 2003 Jetta for a 2005 Pathy instead of an X! I couldn't say no to all that real estate behind the seats So we are now a family with a 95 XE and an 05 XE! With gas prices heading north yet again, I've gotta be out of my mind! -thnkboutit- On that note, I have been getting HORRIBLE mileage out of my 95 since the weather has gotten colder...I am talking 10.8 MPG out of my last tank after averaging 17-18 out of the previous 4 tanks!! Anybody else with a WD21 experience similar issues with the cold weather? I do have one of those cheesey cone-type filters on it (the one from 4x4parts.com) and I have heard that they can in fact have a negative impact on mileage in the winter. Anyhoo, sorry for the rambling :X, but any feedback would be great...

I used Royal Purple Max-Gear for my last tranny fluid change. It does say:  I assume this is OK? Anybody else using this stuff for their tranny? -
