  1. That HB is pretty sweet. If I ever get 1 i want to make it a baja too.
  2. Make sure that, if you call them tell them that they are for the hardbody, or else they will not give you the warranty.
  3. Ok I updated the list, and removed prado lifts and the rancho suspension.
  4. call me dense, but wouldnt it be easier to port out the pathy TB to 6mm and then install the KA24DE butterfly?
  5. Thanks for the replies. I was quoted $200 from the shop down in mexico and $40 for the intake manifold port. At first, I just wanted the P&P, but know that I am thinking of it, I might as well go all out and get a vg33 block and grind out my cams at schnieders. So know that I am doing a vg33 transplant, I want to find out how much of a bigger piston I can install in that block. I can get the engine for may be around $350.00. Man this is turning into a money pit. I figure I at least have 163 hp with the set up I have, after the P&P with the original engine, I may be looking at 170
  6. I really was interested in port and polishing the heads in the near future. I found a very reputable place where they can do it for me, basically they will do a complete rebuilt on the heads with port and polishing. What the guys at the shop told me is that in order for me to really benefit from the p&p that i should go ahead and port the intake manifold. I really want to do this, but I want to find out if this is going to affect my ecu settings cuz of the mod that i want to do. I just want to find ut if there are any side effects to doing this. I already have Thorleys installed, and getting my pathy to breath and fart better with the p&p got me excited to get this mod done. Also, what benefits would I have if I port the TB and the MAF tube, if its even worthwhile. I remember reading a post about a member porting the MAF and got the power button on the tranny to turn on everytime he accelerated, of course i want to avoid this. For right now my pathy is gonna be undriveable until i can get the front suspension fized on her. This is coming first before even doing the P&P.
  7. Sorry for not elaborating some more, I totally forgot to mention that all the fuses were good. The old alty had bad diodes. I replaced the battery after I pulled the alty out. I went to a shop to get it rebuilt, and that's where they told me that the diodes were bad. A bad ecu wouldn't do this? Right?!
  8. I got a problem with my pathy. I was driving to work last week and all of a sudden my gauges stopped working. The pathy started to get sluggish, I turned on the a/c to check what I lost and it wouldn't start, the OD wouldn't engage, cruise control doesn't turn on, it wouldn't shift into gear when trying to go at a higher speed, I basically lost current to my whole panel. Ok, went back home and turned her off. No start. Jumped started her and she fired up. Took her out for a spin in hopes of the alty recharging the battery. Got back home and shut off and then turn on again and nothing. I just hear a click, but engine does not turn. Ok checked the starter, by basically hot wiring it to the battery and it started no problem. Decided to change the battery, thinking the battery doesn't work anymore, but the problem was still there. I had changed the positive lead coming from the starter already cuz it was in pretty bad shape. Cleaned the terminals on the battery really good. No start. Took the alty off, went to auto zone and checkers to have it tested. Both places told me the alty went bad. Got a replacement and hoped for this to solve my problem, but no start nothing. I can just hear the starter click once and that is it. Is there a main relay that I need to check? If anyone had a similar problem, can you please chime in for some advice, please.
  9. Oooh, I think your gonna be in trouble with that remark! For sure, I think you have started a thread war. I can now hear the 2 door are better than 4 door remarks coming.
  10. Well, I have to say that as far as getting a thank you guys for solving x problem thanks to a and b suggestions would be nice. Not to toot my own horn, but i remember coming to the board and asking stupid questions before searching. Well to be honest this was the frist time I got involved in an online forum. I don't think I have left people in the air as far as what the solution was to my problem. What I do see that happens a lot is that there are newbie who just ask one question and then they're gone. Usually these are people who only join to have a question answered and we never hear from them again. While I would agree that having a post to the solution to their problem.
  11. Yeah it did start ok, everything worked great. Now I need to increase my gas mileage, cuz it sucks right now.
  12. Ok I my problem is fixed. This is my ordeal for today. So I go to auto zone on Wednesday to buy the replacement battery cable. Go home and eye ball it with the stock one, big problem, replacement is too short and to top it all off, I start seeing water leaking from the rad. I pulled the radiator out and saw a tiny hole where the leak was coming from, no biggie, life time warranty at auto zone. I cleaned the rad up and got it prepped for today. I decided to take my battery to get tested, just in case. I tell the lady at the counter that I need a test and possible recharge. Then she asked me a test or recharge, I tell her both. So I start telling her that I need to exchange the battery cable for a longer one. Their computer system showed the cable should be 20" for WD21. The lady at the counter pulls up my application and confirms the part # on the box to that in their system. I tell the lady that it is too short for the second time. Then she goes on an tells me that there are other part #'s listed as well. I am looking at what she is pointing out and I tell her again for the third time, that they are all 20" in length and it is too short, I need something that is at least 3' long. She doesn't even acknowledge what I have told her, so I finally tell her to show me to the battery cable section. I go out, get one for 38" and I am good to go. Why is it always freaking difficult to go to a auto parts store. Before I use to like to go to those places, now I am really getting tired of going into auto zone or checkers. So after my ordeal at auto zone, I replaced the battery cable, replaced my radiator, and go the oil changed. I tested the pathy after I burped her and ran around with the a/c on. Got home again and turned the ignition off and then fired her up again. So I am assuming that this has solved my problem.
  13. I have to agree with slick on why we love our pathy's. I've put her through hell and she has gotten me out. I got to a point of almost flipping over, and she maintained her ground. Everytime I look at her, I can't help but admire her looks. Even when shes all dirty it still looks cool. When I clean her up, man I fall in love all over again. I see jeepers around here and to me it just doesn't compare to my pathy. Sure they have a hell of a lot more aftermarket support, but when you see the stuff people do to mod their trucks up and compare that to a jeep, there is no competition. Now if you excuse me I am about to do her oil change.
  14. Hello all my NPORA peeps! I need help finding a gremlin. Every time I turn on te a/c my battery gets drained. What I have done recently is that I had to replace the oh so beloved upper bypass hose. That in its self was a freakin chore. I think I would have wanted to change my starter again than do that, I do not have a body lift mind you. Anyways, I disconnected the temperature sensor connector, that yellow connection that is behind the rear timming belt cover, I took the distriubutor cap off, and disconnected 2 ground leads that were screwed on to the intake manifold, toward the top of the UBH. When I was done replacing the hose, I lost one of the screws that goes to the ground lead on the intake manifold. What I eneded doing is putting both neg on one screw, put everything the way it was and that was that. Now everytime I turn on the a/c my battery is drained. Does anyone know what the negative leads are from, if they are from the a/c, by putting both on one screw, is that is what killing my battery? What I'm gonna end up doing is replace the battery cable, cuz I know it's in pretty bad condition. But this is all I can think of, the alty is good, it charges the battery good, when ever the a/c is off, the starter was replaced a few months ago, and besides, whenever there is juice in the battery it fires right up.
  15. I would try to milk the most you can from the insurance and get another pathy that doesn't need alot of work. Keep the current, just in case some parts are starting to go and you can quickly replace.
  16. Does it still have the stock alty? If it does, your only getting 75 amp to power everything, including the fan. Depending on how many amps the fan pulls, the alty may not be putting out much amparage to power everything else. Try upgrading the alternator, hopefully this will fix your problem.
  17. Very sweet JJ. So does this mean you are willing to hook us up with porting and polishing at a NPORA members discount price?
  18. At least its good that a newbie is using the search function!
  19. Sorry I assumed that you had an automagic. This is how I figuered I had an lsd though.
  20. How about accelerating while pushing on the brake, while some one checks for both rear tires to spin? If you have the orange sticker, then it is 100% likely that you have the LSD.
  21. Keep us posted on this one, hopefully you can find a solution to this.
  22. Ooh, that same thing happened to me earlier this year. The tranny didn't run, basically it was the tc that was gone and I went ahead and replaced the pump and some of the more worn out components as well. Check this out: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=13458&hl=
  23. Thanks everyone for your help. I opened the panel and started sparying lube like crazy on the lock mechanism and the key hole, problem gone!
  24. Hey how's it going everyone. I am having trouble turning the driver side key hole, I need to use both hands in order to open the lock with the key. Does anyone of a cheap fix for this?
  25. I know how you feel. We got kicked out of a great place to off-road that is about 5 minutes from my home. That place was great, cause it was sand dunes and some look like a real challange to climb. The reason why there was no offroading allowed was because it was native american land. There was another spot called jack rabbit trail that's about 10 minutes away and we all got kicked out of there too. I have no idea why, it wasn't as great as the one closer to my house, but it was still a trail.
