I want to upgrade my front recovery point on my R50. Yesterday I was stuck sideways on a trail, my buddy had his truck so I take out my 6000 pound strap with metal hook and attach it to the front, driver side recovery point. So @!*% happens, the strap unhook from his bumper and the hook went flying in the air and just missed the driver window, passing just in front of the windshield. So I made my mind, no more metal hook strap. I just see on 4 wheel parts some tow hook and I wonder if they are universal fit. Can I just unbolt my recovery point on my truck and bolt these on? Some review I read enlighten fitting problem. Any of you guys have these hooks. They are rated at about 10 000 and are very cheap. tow hooks

I was looking at parts for a tune up in my 1999, Distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, wire and serpentine belt. While I was at Rock Auto I was surprised at the prices, they seem to me a little... low. I am not in mechanic so if someone would tell me if it is allright Spark plug wire NGK Part # 8113 {#NX14} CAD$49.13 Spark plug NGK Part # 5464 Iridium IX SOHC {.039 Gap} CAD$6.23 each And for the alt. belt 6$ and the power steering 8.80 Really ?? 6 bucks for a strap ? I call at NAPA auto parts and they were about 30-35$ And only 6.23 for iridium plugs Are these prices seem legit to you?

On my R50 I had 3 code ; 0324, 0446 and 0138 I didn't do anything. Was told that it was o2 sensors & knock sensors.

Service Interval: Cap, Rotor, Plug Wires?

what about fuel injectors ? How often do I need to change that? If I do -
when we talk about selectable locker, do we talk about compressed air locker. And lockright & lokka are auto locker ?
-
I didn't know there was a added bolt on the passenger side recovery point. I taught it was only a safety issue, guess I was lucky this far.

I taught airing down tire pressure to get more traction and having both wheel to turn at the same time with no slipping could help me not dig in the snow. Cause 20-40 centimeter is really a no traction situation, and if you dig in too much and became high center you're done But I'll see what I can do for the rear LSD, at least changing the fluid or maybe rebuilding to add strenght. P.S. I put regular gear oil for LSD in my diff, do I have to add other stuff
-
I got LSD in the rear diff and in snow it is rubbish, i definetly don't want one in the front. As sonn that I slip a little I got one wheel spinning freely. I already have 4 Gooyear 31' A/T. So I think I understand why most of welded diff are straight axle, they don't blow CV. So thank you guys, I will save some money and look for lockers.
-
Yeah using a locker would be great but it is costly. I can weld my front diff for a low cost. And if I plan to use mainly on the snow it can minimize the stress on cv. Is it the same procedure for all diff. For the weld.
-
Can't really go in the details but this is welding the gear inside to achieve a true locked diff. It is the cheapest way to lock the diff.
-
I got a 1999 Pathfinder with free running Warn hubs. I would like to lock the front diff Lincoln locker style. My truck is a winter warrior. I don't plan using it next summer. So the truck will see a great load of snow and a tiny bit of tarmac. I have a few questions on R200 diffs - Is it doable to weld a R200, is it strong enough. - Is there anyone who have done it. I am not a mechanic at all, and I don't intent to do this myself, but if I do it I want to make sure it is made the best way possible. So all info are welcome please

How do you collapse the caliper piston ? I did change my disc brakes last week but I let my pads on the caliper and just slide the assembly back onto the disc. Should have I done the collapsed piston caliper thing ?

I ask for this tool from NAPA and they said that it was worth 60 $ so I hang up ashame of my poverty. But seriously 20 bucks is the kind of money I have

Good idea for the write-up,I have to do this too but there is not a lot of info about it. Good luck

Yet another front rotor and bearing question
maikan replied to Cobra99's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I have a 99 3.3 path. I went to NAPA for replacement bearings today. Thay sell me the entire kit they had listed for my model. There was both bearings, inner and outer. And there was two oil seal that looks similar to those on your autozone link. So I think these are the ones. If you do the work yourself it would be a good idea to do a write-up and take pics. I have to change my bearing but I will only do the easy part, taking the rotot out and having a shop replace the bearing I think. Good luck -
I have a 99 and the stock studs were too short. I too have broken a studs while installing, I throw them away and found bolts the same size as the studs. Very easy to do, thanks to this forum for the idea.

What about the attachment of the snorkel with the airbox ? Can we keep the original one fill the bottom and attach it on the side ?? Or do we have to mess up with sensor ?
-
Wow great job!! You really know what you're doing.
-
How is the pipe sitting inside the fender ? Does it go all the way inside the wheel well ? And when it rains don't you fear that the tire project water inside the tube.
-
Nice post with a lot of informations!! Will be refering to that when I do my lift. Thanks

You are talking about « limited edition » of the PT cruiser and collector editions thing. Nissan jump in the the bus with these false limited edition. On the sunglasses tray on the roof I have a sticker who say « Pathfinder Chilkoot Trail 01581 » Do I care about being the 01581 Chilkoot on the road. On the other hand your pathy is one of not many more, it is a collector item, but being build in USA is not so much of a good thing.

So wich one got the most powerfull setup ??
-
Just clarification on gear ratio ; Atx14 is 2.6, so two engine revolution for 6 wheel rev. Tx10 is 2.0, so two engine rev for 1? wheel rev ???

Is it possible to retrofitted the 30 intake in a 33 block ? Will that take care of the faulty knok sensor and or other problems??
