No luck today. *crosses fingers in hope that it'll show up tomorrow*
-
What about me? :-) Hopefully it'll be in the mail box when I get home.

Nice GTi's! I'm the proud owner of a MKIV myself. This is what I drove before the VW and the Pathy, its an: 1994 GMC Sierra SLE 1500 6.5TD Engine, Auto Tranny 285/75/R16 Tires K&N Air Filter 4 inch Custom exhaust -- with deleted cat & muffler Hella 500 Driving Lights Hella Airhorns I drove that beast for 5 years before getting rid of her. In hindsight I wish I would have kept her, she was a great truck! When I sold her she had 230,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. It got waaayyy better milege than the pathy too :-) best ever tank was 23.6mpg

On my last camping trip (500ish miles round trip) I averaged 16.5, thats with the new air filter and cleaned MAF.

I may be wrong here, but is it not better to mount an amp on a piece of wood or other non-conductive surface? Nice idea for the stealth install though!
-
I'll agree the truck does look all sorts of sturdy as is :-) Can't wait to see the post-install pics. Hell I can't wait for the write up, with any luck I'll be doing this myself in a few weeks.

*crosses fingers* I do hope the Trailmaster kit I have en-route is a newer one, hard to tell when its bought second hand.
-
I don't have access to a welder but I know a friend of a friend who would probably help me for a small fee. Have you run into any problems with it being permanently mounted like that?
-
So my front bumper sits crooked -- Got around to looking at this and it looks like the bolt holding it on on the right side (facing the front of the truck) has broken off, leaving half the bolt sticking out of the nut, and nothing to hold the bumper on. I realize I could probably get this out through various methods and re-mount it. But When I put on my body lift here in a few weeks (sent out the money order yesterday :cool2: ) won't I be relocating the bumper to a diffrent mounting point? Basically would I be wasting my time clearing the broken bolt?

The r50's look ok wth a little help and work :-) I'm very fond of my 2 door, but I think I might prefer the 4 door WD21's more. But the grass is always greener :-) I don't like the 05's at all -- to big.

Just waiting for payday before I pick up a set of adapters!
-
Thanks B! I figured there was something like that, but I figured I'd ask before I went into Harbor Frieght and made myself look like a moron. Maybe I'll run by Harbor Frieght or ACE tonight.

So while installing new shocks/struts on my VW, I came upon a need for a air gun. I'm still in need for this as a matter of fact, as I don't have the $$$ to buy a compressor and new tools. Not yet anyways So this idea hit me, is there anyway to attatch a socket to an electric drill? Seems to me if there is it would be a great alternative to pestering the local shops for the use of their compressor.

Ok ok, yes its not something I would have put in myself :-)
-
Yes they were there when I bought them, all the wiring and everything. Its a single 10 gauge wire running from the battery into the sandwhich-box (thanks for the comments B ) , from there it runs into a central fuse box that goes out to all my lights and other accesories. So its all full of wiring, no room for sandwhiches :-) Since it was pre-existing I have no reason to rip it out, besides, everthing in my truck is function over form anyway, so it fits!
-
For me it was the price and the situation :-) I had gotten rid of my 94 GMC 4x4, and had been driving my little VW for about 6 months when a friend at work mentioned that one of his buddies had a 4x4 for sale for $500. Seeing how I was tired of being city-locked in my VW, I went and checked it out that night, and with all the S&R goodies figured I couldn't go wrong. Talked the guy down to $450 and picked it up the next day :-)
-
I bought my truck for its straight up functionality, not how it looks. But on the same note, hasn't 88 updated his grill to the newer Nissan emblem? Even if our trucks are out of date, it can't hurt to put some work into them :-)
-
I would imagine you could damage some things with a power wash. I've heard that these engines (particualarly the high milege ones) settle into place and washing them can disturb their state of well being :-)

Oil filter relocation kit for 98 QX4?
Harbinger replied to senshido's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Seems to me you could use a generic one, just might have to customize the hose lengths and find some convienent place to mount it. Perhaps the guru's of this board could help us out? -
Highest point is 300 feet? Gads :-) I'm sitting at about 3000 and thats before I head to the mountains
-
My truck was averaging 13.7 no matter where I went -- although I usually did a bit of everything -- highway/city/offroad. I cleaned my MAF last night and changed the air filter (the old one was DIRTY). So I'm hoping to see some gains. The truck already noticbly idles/runs smoother!
-
Thanks for the write up 88! I finally got around to doing this last night, probably one of the easier things I've done on the pathy! Hoping to suck every mile I can out of each gallon :-) Get this though! My truck idles A LOT smoother, and I don't have any engine stutter @ 45mph anymore!

I'm loving all the little touches here and there, particuarly the cupholders and the butterfly key! Heres a little synopsis of my map lights, sorry for the bad pictures, but my camera is cheap and it was free The lights themselves are kitchen island lights, found in lowes/home depot stores. When you remove the transformer they will run off of 12v DC. In a truck cab they are comparable to the light of god coming through the sun roof. Off On They're controled by the fourth switch in from the left. I'm quite fond of the toolbox/switch center. It controls all my lights/accesories and has 4 extra 12v outlets on the right hand side of the box.
